Le GarageUnique and lovely dining venue...Set on the bay in Sausalito, Le Garage is a beautiful and high quality dining venue. Service was professional and cordial and food of the highest quality. One of the most unique settings in Marin County. I would highly recommend for both locals and tourists, alike.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing as alwaysI've been dining here since they opened and it's consistently a fantastic experience all the way around.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Light French CuisineLe Garage Bistro Sausalito continues to provide consistent fresh French Cuisine since it opened five years ago.
Based on observation, the success of this restaurant is attributed to the spirit of the owners, Bruno and Olivier, who have chosen the very best individuals, experienced in food and bar servers to bus boys to common sense respect of loyal customers.
I highly recommend Le Garage Bistro specially to 'Single Women' who prefer dining alone: A 'Woman' can safely exercise society's lost art of flirting with a French waiter, servers who eye your water glass for a refill, savour delicious fresh light French dishes served artistically while surrounded by the beautiful view.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMSausalito GemI brought a client from out of town and it was a big success. Unbeatable views, great food and service.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat hot spot in sausalitoLe Garage is off the beaten path in the private harbor where the bay model is. So you have to know about it to find it. But from the crowd on a Wednesday it's been discovered. It was a beautiful night so all the sliding garage doors were open. There are heaters for outside tables. The waiters wear car mechanic uniforms to contribute to the ambience of a garage, but a very upscale one. The staff was very helpful, but seemed shorthanded as we had to wait quite a bit for our orders to be taken and for our food. But the delicious champagne cocktails, of which there are several to choose, kept us happy during the wait. The food, french bistro style, was excellent and the presentation was beautiful, and the prices reasonable. I'll be back!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways enjoy trying new things hereCan't help but mention how often we try something new here that we really enjoy. Thanks for bringing good food to Marin.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFood popsHad a great date. Shared our plates and the food was fantastic Started with the salt cod stuffed squash blossoms then dove into the mussels Napoleon and seared halibut. Also had the crispy panisse. The waiter perfectly timed the dishes all of which were cooked to perfection.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, service, great place! We shared the beet salad and mussels. Both were incredible. Wine was very good, and view down by the water is just great. Remarkable service from the bus staff. Everyone was super energetic, gracious, and hard working.
So good, in fact, that we decided to come back the next day for brunch. My lady had the omelette with tomatoes and basil. I had the smoked salmon sandwich. Awesome!
Chickpea fries were wild and are recommended.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWaterfront French diningA delight to sit by the water and savor French sweetbreads, mussels and wine. Summer can be tricky weather, however, as the fog may come barreling down and chill the waterfront. We happened to be there on a calm night; excellent service, good cheer.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous dinner4 courses ending with a cheese plate that was so big we couldn't finish. Yum! Lovely service! Perfect wine.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWaiters dressed in a mechanic themeThe food was wonderful. Fresh, savory, and great presentation. Our waiter made a recommendation for an appetizer that was fantastic! I had veal, my wife ordered the PEI mussels. We both loved our appetizer and the entrée. Water glassed were filled regularly and the waiters were not intrusive. It was a most enjoyable experience. We were celebrating out 19th anniversary and were very happy with our night of dining. We don't drink so I can't comment on the wine list. Outdoor dining was nice with the view of the marina. We dined on a Friday night and the weather was warm. Plenty of people going to the marina to take out their boats. It was fun to watch the boats going out.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFun time..Finally got back to Le Garage. My bride had the frieze salad. I had the lobster/corn/watermelon radish salad with I'm guessing Bibb lettuce which was darn good. We both had the yellowtail. I like that they cook it medium rare. We split a cherry clafoutis which was just the right size for a couple of bytes each. We got there at 7 when the sun was out and left around 830 at sunset. A wonderful time to be near the water.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMfoodWe had the P.E.I. Mussels Napoleon for an appetizer and it was off the charts good! I have had the halibut several times and I will order it again - the perfect meal. My dining companion ordered the Garlic Parsley Fettuccini and found it a bit overpowering - would not recommend this dish.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth a special tripSome innovative well prepared delicious appetizers and good wine list. Location is lovely. Would return to try the entrees.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMa favoritelove this place. i usually dine here for lunch on the patio, but this was my first time in the dining room for dinner. legit french cuisine. highly recommended.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMNeighborhood GemBeen here before and the food had been great. Noise level quite high but we managed to get a seat outside enjoying the boats and that brought the noise level down a notch.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLe Garage never disappoints...We brought our friend's here for the first time. Pretty much every thing we shared was a hit. Mussels prepared both with chorizo and marinieres were fresh and big. Both preparations did not disappoint. Crispy sweetbreads nothing left on the plate enough said. Duck confit flavorful rich, roasted monkfish moist and cooked to perfection. Fries never disappoint and the french bread is one of the best in the Bay Area. Dessert the passion fruit creme brulee was tart and sweet made us feel like we were on vacation the fondant au chocolate was decadent as well. Wines very good ,service was overall good even a French waiter. It's a casual fun place. Our friends who are serious foodies loved this restaurant!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMI have had lunch here manyI have had lunch here many times, but never dinner – fabulous choice, especially on a balmy evening
Had the pork chop with fennel, succulent, perfectly cooked – you could taste all the individual flavors
Delicious frisée salad with brie, and also a pear tart to finish – everything was mouth watering
The service is energetic and the view is very pleasing!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing every timeYou can never go wrong with Le Garage, whether with friends or a date. We will certainly come again, and have been here a number of times before for both lunch and dinner.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDELICIOUS! one of our favorites...DELICIOUS! one of our favorites......hard to change the number in your party via open table4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMI had the monkfish which II had the monkfish which I didn't really like. The taste was not pleasant. The service was prompt and attentive though not overbearing. We both enjoyed our food and wine immensely , the prices were moderate, I considered them low for the quality of food and service that we received. Despite the fact that this was a Saturday evening we never felt rushed, we liked the fact that we were allowed to linger over a last glass of wine. We will certainly return.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is fantastic. ItThe food is fantastic. It is pretty noisy, but, for us, it doesn't detract from the overall experience. We go here every time we are in town.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a beautiful setting,What a beautiful setting, we came from San Francisco but felt like we'd landed in Europe. See you soon...3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMYou can never go wrong w/Le GarageLe Garage never ceases to amaze me. The setting is idyllic, right next to the nicest marina in sausalito. The ambience is energetic, but romantic at the same time. The food is the best french cuisine in the SF Bay Area. I would recommend any of the dishes, but personal favorites are the duck and roast chicken.2/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
