  • "I was disappointed, although I'm not sure what my expectation was. I came for the fries, which were shown in Baltimore Magazine as the best in Baltimore. The fries were good, but not worth driving 40 minutes to get. We ordered the Steak Frites. The steak was ordered medium and came well done and dry and virtually tasteless. Even for Restaurant Week, the steak at $25 was overpriced."

  • "Most likely to be voted one of the best burgers in Baltimore. The service was horrible last night, it took our waitress 15 minutes to take a drink order and then another 20 minutes to order an appetizer. Our burgers and fries were delivered WITHOUT any condiments;REALLY??? It took flagging down our waitress to get her attention to come back to the table. Not sure the quality of the burger is worth the lack of service and attitude"

  • "Went during restaurant week. 3 courses for $30 (pretty standard pricing). I started with the French Onion soup which was awesome. My girlfriend and I both got the steak frites for the 2nd course which arrived really late because of a "mix up" in the kitchen. My steak was very tough and my girlfriend's was underdone. The fries were average. Desert was pot de crime which was also fair (on par with jello pudding). The waitstaff was very polite and professional and it has a cool, relaxed atmosphere. Also has an extensive beer list. All told, it was an average dining experience."

  • "Friends and I took advantage of Le Garage having a Restaurant Week menu, and we couldn't have had a better experience. From the moment we entered, we were attended to regularly and had phenomenal service from our waiter (Stephen?). One friend and I had the prix fixe menu, and it was to die for. All of the food was perfectly prepared and presented, and the price was laughably low for the quality and portions. I had the steak frites, and it was probably the best steak I've ever had. Another friend is vegetarian and dairy-free, and the veggie burger was outstanding with what looked like a beet-base rather than a run-of-the-mill black bean burger. Impeccable drinks, perfect atmosphere -- you MUST go to Le Garage!"

  • "My wife and I took our daughter and son-in-law here and had a great time. The service was attentive without being overbearing. The food was delicious - well prepared and presented. The one exception, curiously, was the French fries which were a little limp and the house aioli sauce which was rather bland. Everything else was delicious."

  • "We went out with two friends after a show. It was the 2nd day of Restaurant Week, so we chose from the prix fixe menu. I'm not always thrilled with restaurants' offerings on those kinds of menus, but in this case, there were great choices. My husband had the skate, my friend's husband the steak frites, my friend the tomato gratin and I had the sausage. And I don't usually order dessert, but I did. My friend and I had the cocktail special pre-dinner and it was wonderful. The beer menu was less extensive than we expected, but it was just fine. Although I didn't feel like I'd overindulged while eating, I was more than satisfied with the portions offered and the choices I made. We'll definitely be back!"

She was pleasant, knowledgable and most importantly made us feel very much welcome and at home. We made reservations for the coming week and requested Campbell and the same table we had."

  • "The food is very good. Wife had the grouper...excellent and I had the duck confit...very good though a little salty. The frites were outstanding though I found the aoli a little bland. Would like to see a peanut based sauce as a option for the frites. The noise was deafening though the server told us that the restaurant will be installing acoustical tiles..badly needed. We sat along the wall which was very nice though the dimness of the light meant we either needed a flash light or table candle to read the menus. Great selection of beer. Service was very good. Will be going again. It is a real plus to the restaurant choices in Hampden."

  • "Beer and Frites. Go to Le Garage for the beer and frites. Everything else was unremarkable. My grilled caesar salad was over-grilled. One of the burgers was over-cooked. The steak was under-cooked. I'd recommend just getting multiple orders of fries and a bunch of sauces. The lemon one was surprisingly good because it was almost dessert-like. I think that the spicy sauces could be spicier. Since this spot is new, they might just still be finding their groove. Or this could have been just an off night."

  • "We had another great night at Le Garage. We shared Beef Tartar, a beet-cured fish salad, a bavette steak, and green gazpacho, with a side of frites to share (naturellement!). Everything was delicious, and our server was very attentive. We topped it off with the croissant bread pudding and the chocolate mousse -- fabulous (I recommend the profiteroles as well) -- the chef adds her own twist to all the classics, and it's all good. Will look forward to going again soon. It was particularly lively, and we had to raise our voices in the first part of the evening, but things quieted down, and by the time we left, we could talk at normal volume."

  • "We went on a Wednesday evening, not a particularly busy night for most restaurants, but Le Garage was quite busy. That meant that the service, which had been perfect for half of our meal, was pretty slow at the end. I don't like to have to beg to pay our bill. Since the space was once a movie theater, it was also quite loud by the end of the evening. That being said, the food was excellent. We had a bit of everything. I'd say the high points were the green gazpacho soup and of course the frites were perfect. Crispy, not at all greasy, and nice and creamy inside. The beer menu is extensive but very heavy on ales. A couple lager choices would help. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food. We will go back."

  • "Clever use of decor added to ambience. Cozy, comfortable and spacious. Plenty of seating arrangements for any number in your party, yet spacious enough to allow servers to wait tables and spacious enough to allow dinner conversation without other patrons being too close. The separate bar area is beautiful. Subtly lit, warm dark wood, with plenty of bar seating makes it a great place to catch up with friends or meet a date. Signature cocktails are fresh and inventive. The food is outstanding! I especially love the green tomato gazpacho, with its tangy creaminess. The zucchini bread with goat cheese and ricotta dip is wonderful as appetizer or dessert . A wide variety of menu items will have you coming back time and again."

  • "LeGarage is serving solid dishes, intelligently put together with fresh ingredients, cooked perfectly. The night I was there I had the grilled trout special. The trout was fileted, and had slices of onion, jalapeno, and cucumber inside. The flesh took on those flavors and was light and tender. The corn and tomato relish, fingerling potatoes, and grilled watermelon slice served with it just screamed summer, and made for a great Saturday night meal in July. Couple that with pleasing decor and lighting, professional service, and a good wine and beer list."

  • "Had a good dinner - good, not great. Waitress didn't give great recommendations. Everything we ordered that was not a recommendation was great though. Strange, I know. Drinks were refreshing and tasty. Beef was good, but way undercooked for medium rare. All of the fish dishes were great. Frites (what the restaurant is known for) were crispy and seasoned well. Good variety of dipping sauces - all delicious. Dessert was very good. The honey lavender ice cream was fantastic. Our waitress was nice, but a little out of touch with our table. The restaurant was extremely loud - acoustics were a product of the decor and the space. We would go back. All in all, it was a fun evening."

  • "Had a spectacular time. My husband and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary here and the food was extremely good. We loved everything from the Frites to the dessert. The $30 pre fix was a steal for the high level of food that came out of the kitchen. We are already setting a date to come back with friends and have spread the word of this neighborhood gem to friends and family."

  • "Two visits here and happy with both. The bar area is terrific, easy - good neighborhood spot for burgers. The dining room is hip/modern (although the far side away from the bar is impossibly dark - too dark to read the menu). There were six of us for this visit with various orders, everyone enjoyed their meals. Frites are good although thick (perhaps to hold up to the sauces offered), burger is excellent. Nothing remotely comparable to Heinz Ketchup on the menu."

  • "The drinks are amazing. Big beer selection & house made cocktails. Their version of a mule was fantastic. We ordered frites, frisée salad & whole trout to share. Everything was good but the fish for $28 was not big enuf to split which we were used to doing at Petit Louis.friendsordered burgers & 1 came out way overcooked. The waiter knew & agreed & he didn't do anything which was odd. I would go back but stick to the basics or try their late night menu."

  • "The vibe in the restaurant was ok. Beer list was perfect. However, the food was not good. A limited menu may deter picky eaters. I had the the grilled steak salad and it was inedible. The grilled romaine was doused in oil and turned my stomach. Fries were pretty good, but the dipping sauces weren't as fabulous as they wanted them to be. For example, the kimchee ketchup tasted like tomato paste. We expected a little more than that. The mussels were OK, but not any better than what we've had from other restaurants. We won't be coming back to this restaurant. Possibly would come back just for drinks."

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here (we'd recommend the steak frites and the mussels), and the beer list is fantastic. We joke we were seated in the "kids' room," since we were kind of surprised to find an older crowd when we walked in, but we were seated in a back, separate room that seemed (I'm sure coincidentally) to be the spot for younger patrons. The main dining room was a bit noisy, but the back room was less so. Great service, too! We'll be back."

  • "This was our second visit, and it was considerably better than our first visit. Grouper on a celery root puree was prepared to perfection, as was a fellow diner's steak. Living in Belgium I wan't sure what to expect with the frites. Many, even most, Belgian restaurants now serve flavorless, frozen fries (think Wendy's) so it was a most pleasant surprise that the frites were prepared to perfection. Service was attentive but never obtrusive. Two complaints: 1) Bare cement floors and little to absorb sound make for a noise level that makes conversation at the table at times difficult; 2) Good selection of cheese plates for desserts, but with few to no appropriate choices of wines or beers to pair with the cheeses. Something so fixable."

  • "We tried the $30 menu and one of us tried the flight of matched beers. The carefully planned menu was perfect with the good beers. Starting with a celeriac and arugula salad, mussels and frites for one of us, and a perfectly prepared pork chop for me. Interesting dressings and sauces. For dessert the chocolate stack of 1mm thin pancakes was a bit solid but surprisingly delicious with tne paired chocolate stout. My husband had a creamy orange molded dessert. The menu changes at the chefs inspiration and we will definitely return."
