  • "This was our first visit and it is definitely on the list to return."

  • "We enjoyed our meal very much. The waiter was very helpful and professional. There were only about two other tables when were there so we didn't understand why we could only get a 6:30 reservation and not a 7:00 reservation with so many empty tables. The service was almost too quick. Our main course was delivered very soon after our appetizer so we felt a bit rushed. the food was excellent - we both have the filet mignon which melted in our mouth. Good wine selection. We would definitely recommend this to a friend."

  • "It was a great night! Food and service were excellent as usual. Also, had the pleasure of meeting Chris (new bartender) and Shane??? Sorry Mike, you make our experience better each time!"

  • "Food and service could. It have been better. Beautiful restaurant. Put this on your list of local favorites!!!"

  • "Service was slow because of only one waiter on the Wednesday night that we visited. I do not know if this was an isolated incidence, but it did slow things down quite a bit. The service from the waiter when he did come to the table was very good."

  • "We were looking for last-minute reservations on a Friday night and I was able to get a table at Le Foret. The service was prompt and excellent and the food was fabulous. The menu was nice and not overly long and included vegetarian options. The non-vegetarians had a nice selection as well. My son said that his tenderloin was probably the best he has ever had in his life...and that's quite a compliment. So with excellent food and service, why was the restaurant half empty on a Friday night? The restaurant has a very haughty atmosphere. The crowd was very formal and some of the staff were very proper and stuffy which could be a turnoff to people who simply want great food and service."

  • "The staff was wonderful. The food was extraordinary. The cocktails took the cake. Speaking of cake... don't even get me started."

  • "Fiancé and I wanted a fine dining experience, and we got it. Low lighting, quiet, elegant, outstanding service and great food. We will return if in the area again."

  • "Always loved Le Foret; however, this time I was extremely disappointed in both the food and service. I brought two out-of-town friends here for dinner and it took 20 minutes to get a wine list and be offered a cocktail once seated. Only two waiters were on duty, though the restaurant was quickly full. Not enough wait staff! When our food came, it was cold....not even luke warm and, therefore, not too good. I am so sorry that a once fine dining experience is now passe'."

  • "Went here on a friend's recommendation and it is exactly what you would expect from the great restaurants in New Orleans. Beautiful décor, wonderful food, outstanding service. Boris waited on us and he could not have been more attentive. Went with some of his recommendations and they were wonderful. My favorite--BBQ shrimp and grit cake appetizer--divine!! My husband fancies himself a grill master on his big green egg. He said the steak there was the only one that rivals his own. Since it was Mardi Gras season they had a king cake with bananas foster that capped off a wonderful meal. Restaurants like this are one reason I love New Orleans!!"

  • "My lady friend and I frequent this establishment for the excellent food and service. Food is always amazing and the service is unmatched in my opinion. The waiter/maitre de Boris is our favorite. This restaurant never disappoints!!"

  • "The attention to service and a little Lagniappe taste before the meal and a little something sweet after the meal were nice touches. The appetizers and salads were very good but the entrees were lacking. The value was not there. More fancy than food and taste quality. You can get much better food in New Orleans at a much better price."

  • "Used to be one of the best places in the city. However after it's general manager and head waiter left on 1/1/14 it's fallen apart. Food was good, service was awful! It's now officially off my list of places to recommend. Go to one of the other million great places in NEW Orleans."

  • "The food was excellent and was served in a timely fashion. The maître' D was attentive and prompt in his handling of the wine, but the waiter's service was inconsistent in the second half of our visit, particularly when it came to ordering dessert and getting the check. The valet parking at the neighboring hotel was awful, reminding me why I quit parking there several years ago. Despite that though, we will return soon and park elsewhere."

  • "This was my third dinner at Le Foret. Each has been solo and excellent. The 1st was based on a conversation I had with a chance encounter meeting an employee, Margaret, on a walk. We talked about local restaurants.I told her of problems I had with certain food allergies.she suggested I visit her restaurant and that my concerns would be taken care of. I went that night and Margaret made sure my issues were addressed. Each visit has been excellent. I have recommended Le Foret to 20 plus people. I know that a number have then eaten there and we're equally impressed. I am interested to receive feedback from people I met Thursday on the airport shuttle bus who are eating there tonight. I hope Sherry lets me know so I can pass on her experience."

  • "The restaurant is beautiful but has few tables. We were placed at a small table beside the kitchen door which was busy and unpleasant. The Limited New Year's Eve menu did not give an accurate representation of the plates offered. My girlfriends steak came out cold and when we received it again it was overcooked and dry. The hype did not match our experience."

  • "This is not my first time at this restaurant and I am never disappointed. From the beginning to the end is always memorable and now will probably be tradition for my family at this time of the year. The consistency of service and the quality of the food could not be better. I really have nothing but positive to say. I really think it is one of the best restaurants in New Orleans."

  • "Le Foret was a good choice to have a wonderful meal and then scurry on to the theater. My friend and I ordered the tasting menu. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted great. I was not overly impressed with the dessert, but it was pretty and light after the 3 course meal."

  • "The restaurant wasn't busy when we were there so it was very quiet. We were seated immediately. We started with the beet salad which was very good and the BBQ shrimp appetizer which was excellent. The tenderloin was terrific and the amberjack was perfectly cooked. In between corses our waiter brought us a small plate with A tiny bowl of lobster bisque and a cracker with fois gras ( nice touch). Our waiter was attentive and knew the menu well. The only negative was dessert. The waiter recommended the chocolate cake, which was dense and dry. We will go again."

  • "We dined at Le Foret as a special holiday appreciation gesture for our staff. Every detail of the evening was exactly as I'd hoped for these deserving ladies. The food was divine, the attention to detail was impeccable, and all guests were treated with gracious hospitality throughout the evening. Le Foret has a talent for making diners feel special, which sets them apart, even in New Orleans' formidable restaurant market, from other restaurants with exceptional cuisine."

  • "We were fortunate to have accidentally found this gem on Open Table. Note sure what we had signed up for, we stepped out of a light rain and into a lovely space, greeted by a hostess who seemed genuinely pleased to see us, and a Head Waiter who grinned widely, spread his arms, and ushered us into a delightful dining experience. We had the Tasting Menu with the wine pairing. Scrumptious small plates of exquisitely delicious morsels that, by the end of the meal, add up to just the right amount of food. The wine choices were perfectly lovely."

  • "This restaurant is a gem. It is only one block off Cannel and close to all major hotels. The food was spot on, service exceptional and the wine list made sense. I simply cannot say enough good things about Le Foret. If you miss this restaurant, you will have missed one of the top 5 restaurants in NOLA and that would be a shame."

  • "Service was very efficient, though I wish it had been more friendly. It felt a bit cold & stiff in the restaurant from the time we were seated till we left. It was our anniversary, & we were treated to a complimentary glass of champagne.Nice touch. Food & cocktails were outstanding. I just wish the service had been warmer."

  • "The food at Le Foret was some of the best I've ever had! Average price for 4 couse meal with drink is 100.00 pp with tip. Not cheap, but worth every penny! Wonderful atmosphere as well. A definite must try."

  • "Very nice restaurant with quiet romantic atmosphere. A respite from the usual crowded noisy trendy New Orleans restaurant. My complaint was the food was served too quickly rather than savor the food which was excellent."

  • "The restaurant was beautiful and the waitstaff was fantastic. We ordered the tasting menu, which provided plenty of food and a wide variety of flavor and types. I loved the food. It was outstanding. My husband also said the drinks were phenomenal. The server was very efficient and handled issues well. My only complaint was the cappuccino machine was broken, but they put a candle in my dessert for my birthday, which was very nice."

  • "The prix fixe meal with wine pairing was superbas was the sevice!"
    Dined on 11/26/2013
  • "When we arrived on time. We were told our table was not ready. The bartender was inattentive while we waited for our table. Ultimately, the wine we ordered was not received until after we were seated 20 minutes later. The waiter took our order, but food is served by "runners" who did not know whose dish was who's. I hate when the wrong dish is placed in front of me... The appetizer and salad were good. The entree, a veal chop, that I was told was lean, was fatty, and tasted boiled, not seared. Finally, the restaurant is so loud, that my friends (colleagues on a business meeting) and I had to constantly repeat ourselves, which ruined the opportunity to catch up with friends. The overall experience was disappointing."

  • "Often times restaurants near convention centers or other tourist areas skimp on the quality of the food and presentation. Le Foret was a very pleasant exception to the rule. The fixe prix menu was perfect in portions, nicely presented and delicious. The service was efficient, knowledgeable, and pleasant. The wine list has a nice selection wines from around the world and range of prices. I appreciated seeing 1/2 bottles of interesting wines. I had a delicious charbono at a fair price. I can't wait to go back the next time I am in town."

  • "The food is excellent but the service left a lot to be desired. One would think that with such a nice, and pricey restaurant, the service would be top notch. That was not our experience."
    Dined on 11/12/2013
  • "I had high hopes for Le Foret after reading many reviews and seeing it had been voted best new restaurant. What a disappointment. The food was very good but portions too big for a multi course meal. The wine pairings were poor. Basically brand name low end wines. The restaurant itself is beautiful but the view out the window was of a trash dumpster. The service was terrible. We felt like they couldn't wait to get rid of us and turn the table. There are too many great restaurants in NOLA to have this experience."

  • "We had a wonderful meal here, wife got the shrimp and lobster risotto and I had scollops, great. Don't miss the apps and coconut cake. All wonderful. Was busy that night and a little noisy. The beautiful high ceilings and hard wood floors would make it difficult for this to be a quite place. Service was good. Would go again, not inexpensive though."
