Service was fair due to having multiple servers and not knowing whom was assigned to us. It was great food and very romantic for a special occasion. It was a good location for fine dinning.

After hearing great things since the place opened, I finally decided to go for Restaurant Week. The maitre'd ignored me and then seemed surprised that I had a reservation and wanted to dine. I wasn't given a Restaurant Week menu until I asked for it and then it was literally tossed onto my table. The server team couldn't have cared less that I was in the dining room. The food was passable, but nothing more. Being a born and bred New Orleanian, I expect more from a restaurant. I'll never go back and never recommend it.

The food is outstanding, and worth the expense. The service is poor, which is the best I can define it. The waiter was inattentive, and made many mistakes by merely not listening to the customer, and that was in just the first 10 minutes. This continued thru most of the dinner. He did do a little better job near the end of the meal. They could do with some serious waiters, who take their job as seriously as their the cook clearly takes the food.

I visited Le Foret to try their new lunch service due to an advertised 50% their prix fixe + free dessert (seen on credible news sources like the Gambit). The waiter had no idea what we were talking about when we asked about the special. He said he may just not know about it, but never asked. The lunch special is 2 courses for $27. I don't think I would have opted in anyways because the offerings felt more like dinner specials rather than a quick lunch. I ordered the blue cheese burger with bacon and was very disappointed. It was overcooked, the bun was burnt and the burger was way too salty. The service was mediocre considering we were the only table in there during the whole lunch. I would definitely not recommend for lunch.

Have been here a few times. Food is always really good and occasionally exceptional. Pretty restraunt also. This time was disappointed that they ran out of foie gras and in the weak coffee at the end if the meal. Not a great way to start or end a meal. Will be back though.

Food was over the top great. This restaurant replaces the old Louis XVI and Savoir Faire for truly elegant dining with superb service and inventive, delicious menu. Since it is the middle of summer, the staff was small, but the service did not suffer, especially in the face of a very loud table of 20. Our waiter made sure our food order went to the kitchen ahead of theirs. And we were also served by none other than the owner, who pitched in with a complimentary dessert for my birthday. The surroundings were noisy because of the huge table of 20, which really should have been split up. But it's hard to fault the managment for that. Le Foret would be a star in New York or San Francisco, and we are lucky to have it here in New Orleans.

From the moment we walked in the staff and manager treated us as if we were the only people in the restaurant. We were offered a table in a private dining area and the service was superb from start to finish. All the food was excellent from appetizers to dessert. When indecisive about whether to get the soft shell crab or the duck I was offered a surf and turf option of both that was off menu. The manager also brought us a few items off the chef's tasting menu as complimentary. I would put my dining experience at Le Foret as maybe my most pleasurable of this year which is saying a lot since my husband and I try new fine dining in the city about twice a month. I think Le Foret was fantastic and am only sorry that it took me so long to try!!!

We had an early 600 as we were heading to a concert. The maître d was very engaging and friendly. Our food was served beautifully and at the perfect times . All 4 of us had different entrees ,and all 4 were terrific. The scallop and shrimp entree was great . They have an excellent choice of wines by the glass, which was handy since we weren't able to have a long, leisurely dinner. Second time there and it is now on our A list. Highly recommended .

Make sure this one is on your list for your next trip to New Orleans, particularly if you're looking for fine dining. The meat was flavorful, moist and tender, the vegetables were cooked perfectly and the desserts were a culinary delight! I would prefer a bit more lighting, but otherwise, I have no complaints. I will keep coming back.

The presentation and portions of the appetizer and entree were outstanding. The kitchen did a fantastic job. When I arrived I was the third person in the dining area. It took forever for a cocktail. After the appetizer a group of 6 arrived and being a single I might as well been invisible. The entree was delivered with 'here you go' and the plate slid across the table. After finishing I had to ask for a dessert menu. I opted for an after dinner drink and coffee. The cocktail was wrong and the coffee cold. At this point there were still only two tables occupied in the dining room. The food, again, was wonderful. I get better service at Denny's and for a lot less money.

La Foret is an elegant dining experience and was perfect for the celebration of our anniversary. The chef's creations of "barbecued shrimp and grits", gnocchi, red snapper, and soft shell crab were delicious but not the standard fare - definitely a cut above! We were a party of six on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is elegant and the service is outstanding. We had a large, round table which always makes conversation more enjoyable for all. The food was superb. Two of our guests had the Foie Gras appetizer and they literally could not stop raving about it. I was actually envious. Everyone loved their entree (soft-shell crab, veal chop, beef tenderloin). The desserts were all lovely. The wine list is incredible. The wait staff is very knowledgeable and familiar with the wines. A very memorable evening!

Located next door to the JW Marriott, Le Foret is a classic white table cloth restaurant with great food and a lovely ambiance. The pork belly appetizer was phenomenal. We had the sea scallops and beef tenderloin entrees which were well-prepared and quite delicious. I would have given an overall five star rating if we skipped dessert. But having ordered it, the coffee arrived a bit tepid, requiring a request for hot coffee, the restaurant was out of creme brulee before 7:30 p.m. claiming it had been burned, and the coconut macaroon cookies I substituted were overly sweet with far too much sugar frosting.

All of our food was very good but the wait staff was 2 men for the entire restaurant. They even had to bus the tables along with everything else. It took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We had the wrong wine sent out 3 times. It was also difficult to get our waiters attention because he was so overloaded. This is not the dining experience you expect for the prices that are charged at Le Foret.

Le Foret was the welcome closure to our visit to New Orleans and the Jazz Festival. Our family tired, from countless walks and sightseeing in the city along with a long day at the fair ground listening to all the greats finally found a welcome respite in the quiet splendor of Le Foret. There the staff attended to our needs and dazzled our daughter's friends with countless dishes that expanded their repetoire of french cuisine with a New Orleans flair. It was a splendid night of cuisine with attentive service. The Bar-b-Q Shrimp and Pork Belly were extraordinary and the macaroons had our daughter entranced.

The food at was excellent but, it must have been an off night. They had a large group in a room upstairs. This must have thrown them off. We were a party of 5. 3 people got bread plates & the other two got water. We had to ask (after waiting a long time) for full table service. It took them forever to have someone come to our table to take our order & at that point, we were never even greeted with a welcome - just a ready to order? After we finally got our orders in, it took an inordinate amount of time to get our food to the table - there were very long periods of waiting between courses, as well. All told, we were at the restaurant close to 3 hours. Everyone was very nice, but no one ever apologized or offered explanations.

We enjoyed our meal very much. The waiter was very helpful and professional. There were only about two other tables when were there so we didn't understand why we could only get a 6:30 reservation and not a 7:00 reservation with so many empty tables. The service was almost too quick. Our main course was delivered very soon after our appetizer so we felt a bit rushed. the food was excellent - we both have the filet mignon which melted in our mouth. Good wine selection. We were looking for last-minute reservations on a Friday night and I was able to get a table at Le Foret. The service was prompt and excellent and the food was fabulous. The menu was nice and not overly long and included vegetarian options. The non-vegetarians had a nice selection as well. My son said that his tenderloin was probably the best he has ever had in his life...and that's quite a compliment. So with excellent food and service, why was the restaurant half empty on a Friday night? The restaurant has a very haughty atmosphere. The crowd was very formal and some of the staff were very proper and stuffy which could be a turnoff to people who simply want great food and service.
