Le ForetWonderful food & atmosphere!My husband, our teenaged son, & I dined at Le Foret on Friday night. It was wonderful! I had the fois gras appetizer--cooked perfectly & a large portion--; the soft shell crab entrée--crispy, perfectly seasoned & fried to perfection with a delicious corn maque choux & green salad; & a sampler for the table of desserts--the coconut cake was my favorite! Our waiter, Mauricio, was attentive & friendly. My husband has a severe dairy allergy, & they are always ready & able to prepare him something delicious that is within his dietary restrictions--he had an heirloom tomato salad & the triple tail fish entrée--both of which he loved! We particularly liked the Red Snapper and Beef Tenderloin. Between the five of us we tried nearly all the appetizers and they were excellent. For dessert I thought the Truffle chocolate cake was average but the coconut cake and toffee tart were particularly good. The waiter was swamped and failed to ask us for cocktails. That was the only shortcoming. The food was imaginative and served piping hot with a nice presentation. The wine list in very eclectic and intriguing. I am not a fan of foie gras. They offered a PBJ foie gras that was incredible. What an odd combo but the best I have ever had. I had the scallops with a house made pasta and they were light and quite delicious. Excellent experience and wonderful wait staff. The waiters I have had were very knowledgable and energetic. I prefer Mauricio he is great. I have had him on two occasions.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding experienceAn outstanding experience on a quiet Monday evening. The menu offers many tempting choices. We picked the shrimp risotto and goat cheese ravioli and were very pleased with both. The dining room is attractive, suitably dark, and quiet.
