  • "What a great meal we had at Le Filet! Patrick the manager was super nice and our waitress Sarah Jane was perfect. All of our dishes were very tasty and we would highly recommend this restaurant. We went on a Sat night but needed a place to eat on Sunday. Patrick was nice enough to recommend Hotel Herman. Please try both places because they are hip and not your typical tourist place."

  • "We spent the weekend in Montreal for my birthday, and we came to Le Filet for dinner. Everything was great. The oysters were delicious and the wine list was really excellent!"

  • "Finally, Montreal has a great seafood restaurant. All dishes are to share and this tapas style service allow you to taste more items on their menu. Service is attentive and friendly. Food outstanding. Love it!"

  • "Bonne bouffe quoique pas a la hauteur de sa reputation de meilleure table a Montreal. Huitres excellente. Quelques belles surprises comme le thon. Pates a l'agneau un peu ordinaire et trop salėes. Vin un peu cher"

  • "Was in Montreal for a weekend with friends / bachelor party ... Sara Jane was our waitress. The cuisine, wine, and service were all amazing. Oysters, hamachi, lobsters spaghetti, veal cheek, snapper were really amazing..."

  • "Amazing experience from the moment we walked in. Welcoming atmosphere, the host made us feel at home. The food was delicious and designed for sharing, ideal for trying lots of different things. The fluke was amazing! Our waiter was terrific and really made the night special. We were visiting Montreal for the weekend, and I would definitely come back to Le Filet the next time we are in town. Don't miss it."

  • "The smaller portions allow you to taste a wide array of delicious recipes! The crab risotto is one of my faves, the oysters both baked and cold were perfect (and I'm generally not a fan of the baked ones). I've been to Le Filet more times than I can remember and it has never disappointed me. Thanks to Hugo and the team!"

  • "Food was perfect, we left saying we loved each dish and would try the others we couldn't fit in. Small plate style eating w Japanese influence bc of the chef. Wine list is truly amazing. "

  • "We had a short but satisfying experience at Le Fillet-- service was flawless (we got the same treatment as the Spielberg group at the next table) and the three plates we tried were generous and excellent. The availability of a gluten-free menu was most appreciated; if there had been one or two gluten-free dessert options I would have been even happier. Loved the room, the vibe...will return."

  • "One of the best restaurants in Montreal - the food rivals most any restaurant in NYC and is usually better. Cavatelli and tuna tar tar are THE BEST!"

  • "Everything was nice but in Montreal there are many nice places. Service was friendly, food was good but not excellent. It could have been excellent had it been less salty, and that was the case for all plates. A bid disappointed but I would try it again. "

  • "Merci! Thank you! D I V I N E ! We had a fantastic experience. From the food, to the wine, the service, the decor, the noise level… We live in between Paris and New York, and THIS was our best dinner date in a very long time ! "

  • "It is rare that I come accross the level skill displayed by the chefs at Le filet. My most common common complaint about too many montreal restaurants is that there is far too much build-up and very little follow-through. At Le filet however much to my delight this was not the case. I could not find fault with any dish. Simply put Le filet is a real restaurant that serves superb food. "

  • "We had a great meal at L'Express and then a disappointing meal at Joe Beef. For our 3rd and last night we had booked Le Filet. We almost went to another spot we saw in Old Montreal but held to our plan. On the night of the Canadiens 7th game against the Bruins we headed out to Le Filet. The food was wonderful. I am a big fan of Tuna Tartare and theirs was one of the best I have ever had. My wife had the Oysters Miso Gratinee which she loved. We then shared the Octopus with Israeli Couscous which was poetic. She then had the Sea Bass and I had the Cavatelli both of which were sublime. We had a couple of cocktails and great bottle of Chablis. Then chased it all with a maple dessert. "

  • "Le Filet When you leave Le Filet and you tel yourself that coming back is a MUST, then you know the dining experience was great, and so it was. I could discourse on the originality and presentation of the dishes but it is also the ambiance and those added complements often absent at some restaurants that made the evening enjoyable. Do trust staff on wine pairing. Leave your wine preferences for another day and trust staff on pairing. They are knowledgeable and you will discover new labels. Ask for the house cocktail La Piscine. It is the hottest drink in Paris at this time. Paul and Danielle May 2014 "

  • "If you are looking for a restaurant for a special occasion this is it. Don't expect large portions but choose 3 to 4 different items on the menu for 2. Take 2 to 3 hours to dine. This is by far an experience for your taste buds."

  • "Lovely restaurant, great vibe , handsome waitstaff and delicious food. The team here knows what they are doing and they do it with style and a smile. Small plates for sharing are the norm and each one is a delight to the palate. The tuna tartare ,the smoked duck, the grilled octopus, the pork belly and even the grilled veggies were all sublime. Not to mention the beautiful bottle of unfiltered Soave wine that married so well with meal. Kudos to a well run establishment with pazazz."

  • "Montreal is not known for seafood, but Le Filet had some of the best I've ever had. Everything was superb from the first drink to the desert. All of the food was amazing. The oysters were perhaps some of the best I've ever had."

  • "This was a surprisingly disappointing experience. I frequent Le Filet primarily to entertain out of town guests or an intimate dinner. I have never been disappointed and that is why I will still recommend Le Filet. It could have just been the way the server placed our order. We initially arrived when it was fairly empty. We were seated (3 of us) next to a large family which increased the noise level. . The server didn't come until awhile after our cocktails to take our order which consisted of a variety of appetizers (more than 4) which was open for the table to share. We each ordered a principle meal which was served at the center of the table rather to us individually. 2 out of 3 meals came, the 3rd was forgotten and came 1/2 way later:("

  • "What a marvel! Outstanding dishes and over the top delicious. Yes, its's that good. The oysters with miso gratin packed so many flavours. My absolute favorite was the cavatelli with veal cheeks and foie gras. If you really appreciate unique ingredients and don't believe that good food has to be a gluttonous portion, then you've struck gold with this restaurant. The staff was excellent, attentive yet unobtrusive. They made excellent recommendations both with food and wine selections. Book in advance. I am already planning my next visit!"

  • "We came in rather late on a Saturday night to find a full restaurant where you could actually have a conversation with your dinner partner! What a relief. The house cocktail was a wonderful way to start, and our waiter was helpful and very pleasant. And then the first dish arrived. Oh my! The tuna tempura was the best I have ever had, and we have had excellent versions. Every dish thereafter was a delight: fresh, beautiful presentations, just the right size to share and wonderfully flavourful. We will be back very soon!"

  • "I booked Le Filet for dinner strictly on the reviews it received on many websites and I must say, I am VERY glad I did. I have been all over ther world, visited many restaurants and this is for sure in my top 3. The menu was great (especially if you like tapas), the service was unbelieveable (I wish I could remember my waiters name) and the wine list was endless. I went here for a Valentine's dinner but I would return for any occasion, even just because it was Thursday. This will be my one recommendation to any friends travelling to Montreal."

  • "we reserved 2months before the special occassion. We went on time and the restaurant wasn't full. Alexandre the maitre d'hotel offer usthe worst table in the restaurant. Same waiter came to to late with anorther plate. Please don't except to get the best service. If you are a simply foodies, and not a celebrity don't go. Sorry for the real people who know where to go."

  • "We travelled from off the island to celebrate with some guests from the USA . We chose this restaurant following excellent treatment a few months earlier. Wow what a different service experience, described as poor at best. We waited 15 mins for a drink order, once we got our drinks our request for lots and lots of ice was met with a small glass of ice, this requirement was treated by the waiter as a joke and would be repeated on each drinks order. Waiting to order was so long to we requested some bread be provided to the table.Despite being clear this was a celebration ,we were unable to keep drinks flowing and never got to see a wine menu! Once the food did start arriving we enjoyed it but our overall experience was too dented by that time!"

  • "I have been wanting to try out LE FILET for a long time and what better occasion than my sister`s birthday. I was extremely appreciative of the service, the staff was very knowledgeable and the cuisine, different than what I have tried in the past. The Asian influences are right in line with my taste palette, brought a creative aspect to the dishes. Although the meal was very pricey¨(!!!), from time to time, it`s fun to eat outside the box!"

  • "Love everything about this place but it is not for you if you're hoping to have an intimate conversation. We had an assortment of plates with wine pairings and all was excellent. Tuna tartare, mediterranean cod, arctic char, crab risotto, and beef shortribs with maple square for dessert. All delicious!"
