Diner Reviews
  • "When we arrived someone was playing the piano beautifully and the staff was attentive and nice. The wait wasn't long at all considering I made reservations. Asked to be placed in an area that wasn't too loud and they filled my request. Waiter came right away. The food was hot and really good. I had the pecan fish dinner, my husband loved the taste of Louisiana dish, and my son had good chicken tenders and fries. The bread pudding smothered in a warm white chocolate sauce and a scoop of ice cream sealed the deal. I did receive my money's worth because it is a bit pricey but worth it. "

  • "I've dined at Le Creole on other occasions but, somehow, the brunch on Easter Sunday was even more exceptional than prior experiences! Kudos to the chef and staff. Service was excellent as well. I'd recommend it to any and all who love good food."

  • "We would eat here again but brunch is a little pricey. You can only order Brunxh items. All in all I'll be back for dinner for certain."

  • "Great Food! Creative dishes. Good service. Like the live piano music. I do not like the evening dinner hours. I often like to have dinner earlier. Please consider an early bird lunch."

  • "Menu changes often but not what we researched on internet. Not bad but could've been better. When you can go elsewhere for free mimosas refills its hard to pay Everytime you want another. quite a drive. Probably wont go back"

  • "We had dinner at Le Creole before we went to a concert at L'Aburege. Our dinner was spectacular not to mention our waiter Tyrone was wonderful! We thoroughly enjoyed him being our waiter and will definitely ask for him next time we dine at Le Creole! The ambience is delightful and there's not much noise in the restaurant. Even though there were several prom parties."

  • "The fried green tomatoes were extremely hard. They cut them way too thick. So for $15 that was a bit much. The entree was ok. Nothing spectacular especially for the price. Would much rather just go to restaurant August for the price."

  • "My wife and I are new to the area and wanted to experience the Baton Rouge food. I saw the commercial on TV and I must say I was impress upon arriving into the restaurant. I enjoyed the food and my wife said that we must bring all our family and friends that vist us here. I will be coming back soon to Le Creole."

  • "Always reliable for great food and service. Love La Creole for special occasions as well as a nice evening out. Service is always impeccable (really great bartender also)."

  • "Good Food, Good Service, only suggestion is a wider selection of non-fish items. I love fish, but not every time. The Shrimp Creale addition to the menu is really good."

  • "Although the location - strip mall - gives pause when you pull up for your first visit, that dips out of sight open entering a surprisingly attractive space with great ambience and low lighting at night. Good is some of best food in Baton Rouge - exceptional appetizers. Service very professional, pricey but worth it. Will go again and again."

  • "Went for a client dinner with an out-of-town guest. Service was and always is impeccable here. Appetizers and salads were good; go for the crabcake and/or the lettuce wedge. You will not be disappointed. My, and several others at the table, steaks were overdone and underwhelming. All in all a good experience though."

  • "The menu is constantly evolving. The most amazing oyster poboy salad. The jazz brunch is a welcome change to just brunch. The piano player puts you at such ease while you eat."

  • "Ate at LaCreole a few years ago and it was amazing. I had the filet and they serve it with a potato hash that's remarkable. Looked forward to returning but haven't because it's $38 entree type menu. Decided to go for a special occasion. My medium filet was cooked medium-well to well and had no flavor. It tasted like the smell of raw ground beef. Potatos were divine however. The house salad that is supposed to be mixed greens was iceberg lettuce with carrot shreds. Very disappointed. Staff was good and nice atmosphere but not with $140 for two people."

  • "This is a very nice restaurant that is great for date night or meeting a friend for lunch. The food is of very good quality and nicely presented. It is pricier than many other local restaurants, but it is of better quality as well."

  • "Three couples decided to celebrate Valentines on the 21st to avoid the crowds and choose Le Creole as the site of our celebration. We all had wonderful food and our waiter, Tyrone, was the best any of us have EVER had. Eating in a fine Restaurant is one thing but to have a waiter like Tyrone was the best. Each of the other couples sent me an email the next day saying how wonderful it was."

  • "My wife and I really enjoyed our night at Le Creole. The ambience was nice and classy with a subtle romantic touch. Although, I did find the huge tv's in the dining area to be a little distracting. For a place like Le Creole, tv's should be relegated to the bar area. The food was really good and carefully prepared with a little splash of sophistication. You can taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients which for the most part was allowed to come through and play with yourtaste buds. The service was very polite and knowledgeable with all three courses out and presented beautifully at the appropriate times. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Le Creole and I will be back. I almost forgot...bring PLENTY of money."

  • "My aunt and uncle were in town from Dallas. They are older and do no like loud restaurants. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Service on this particular night was a little slow and my uncle made a comment about it. The restaurant was quiet enough that we could have a conversation at our table. Overall-nice experience."

  • "This was a business dinner for 8. The service was fantastic. We loved the flat breads, especially the basil and tomato. The fish entrees were superb, especially the grouper on cedar plank (huge portions) and pan sauteed grouper. Favorite dessert was the chocolate chip cookie and vanilla icecream."

  • "This is a very romantic restaurant with a classic New Orleans feel. The live piano player made the room so romantic. The menu is very seafood heavy and it is a small menu; however, every single item we had was cooked to perfection. The lobster wontons were Devine, the crab cake was basically all crab and no fillers which is perfect. The pecan seared fish served on top of spinach and a corn and shrimp based sauce topped with crab meat was simply marvelous. Crispy fish, with great texture from the pecans and a slightly sweet spinach was excellent. The 14 oz ribeye (off the menu) was cooked to order Can't wait to go back again!!!"

  • "This was a fantastic restaurant for Valentines Day. My girlfriend was really pressing me to find a place at the last second and I'm glad urbanspoon didnt let me down. I arrived early and the restaurant had my table ready right at the time of the reservation. The ambiance was very tasteful and fancy. The staff was friendly and composed and the live piano music was a great touch. I am a college kid, so naturally I thought the food was pricey, but it did not disappoint. I've worked in a 4 star restaurant before in Slidell at Micheal's Restaurant, so the fact that they impressed me is noteworthy. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to have a nice romantic evening."

  • "Restaurant is confused. High priced menu served in a strip mall. Walked in for valentine's dinner and top 40 was blaring through the speakers with the tvs on ESPN. Overall the food tasted slightly above average but the strip mall and high prices overwhelm the experience. Not to mention the most limited menu I have ever seen. Do not waste your money, there are much better options in town."

  • "The menu selection was truly Creole and each item was calling "Try me!" The Cast Iron Oysters appetizer was a meal in itself! The veggies were wonderful and truly complimented each meal! Save room for the bread pudding!"

  • "The server had very little information about the menu and did not seem very comfortable. He was friendly, but appeared inexperienced. We (party of 6) attended at 1 PM on a Sunday. We weren't aware it was their live piano jazz brunch. I was disappointed with the brunch menu, especially due to the fact that I expected a substantial lunch, and the meal option suggested by the waiter was not, after all, what I was craving. I wish I'd have gone with my original order. The live piano was much too loud and the song selection odd. A jazz version of The Flintstones theme was on the list and did not provide for a relaxed, fun environment in which to hold conversation. I suggest attending for dinner service on a Saturday."

  • "Le Creole has become one of my favorites! Although this night was a part of "Restaurant Week," the selections were quite adequate, and the price a sure deal for three (3) courses. The food is exceptional! Period. The wait staff is always friendly, and accommodating. This night, Grant was GREAT!!! We hope he felt our appreciation through our tips. I am certain we will return!"

  • "My first experience at Le Creole was horrible, and I will not be back. The waiter was trying his very best to see to all of his tables, but there was no possible way he could since the restaurant was short staffed. It took 45 minutes to place our order and our drinks were empty the entire time. When we asked to speak to a manager, the lady, who was also hosting, came over and explained that it was restaurant week and they were behind so what was our issue? Needless to say we asked for our ticket and left. Our server sent another manager over, and I am waiting for him to contact us."

  • "Been a while since we had been to Le Creole. Normally the food and service go hand in hand. However tonight they weren't even close. Made reservations, arrived on time. There was some one who greeting us, but couldn't seat us. She was waiting on someone else. She did manage to answer the phone though and explained that there was an hour wait. Empty tables were available. Finally the hostess returned. After 15 minutes we greeted by a waiter. We order post haste to avoid any further delay. The food arrived in a timely manner. The portions were so small we wonder what had happened here. Both ordered the fish and it appeared as one filet had been cut in half. The 3 grilled shrimp I had were larger than my portions of fish. Not a good night."
