Le CreoleMother's DayMy wife and I enjoyed a lovely Jazz Brunch on our anniversary, so I decided to repeat on Mother's Day. Three of our four children and their families were able to join us. We were; 10 adults, two children 7 and 4, and two babies. Our table was ready on time and in a quieter part of the restaurant (the jazz can get loud). We never felt rushed and Olin, our server, was one of the most attentive yet calm servers it's been my pleasure to dine with. And the food - outstanding. We eat out frequently & consider this one of the best restaurants in Baton Rouge; since there are many good places to eat here, that says a lot. The manager remembered us this last visit, our seating preference and instructed the hostess where to seat us. All enjoyed the food and wine. We brought a birthday cake with us. After dinner, the sever did an outstanding job presenting it to her and providing us cake service. She was so surprised. Listened to the paino play the entire night and enjoyed some of the best sea bass I have ever eaten! Also the mini biscuts served before the meal are heaven in your mouth! I highly reccommend trying the crab cake apetizer! Perfect place for a speical date night! Arrived a little early. Seated with no problem. Wait staff was very attentive. Started out with a good bottle of wine suggested by the staff. Great. Special appitizers of crab cake and fried green tomatoes were enjoyed by all. Had a flounder fish special, a steak special. Two of our guest tried these and loved them. Wife and daughter tried the duck breast and declared it very good. Best boneless duck that they had ever had. I tried the fried rabbit. It was good but could have used a little more flavor. Finished the night off with bananas foster, flamed at the table and bananas foster bread pudding and coffee.
