  • "This restaurant has an amazing ambience and the staff were all attentive. The food is delicious. We were party of 10 to celebrate my Sister's birthday and the staff even made sure that my 2 year old nephew will have the high chair ready before we arrived. Most family members ordered their steak and they all enjoyed its tasty tender meat plus the sumptuous fries. I had the lamb and it was cooked well. The cocktails here are also excellent! We had a great time!"

  • "I have dined here several times and always have experiences that most other restaurants could only hope to emulate. The service is impeccable. The food is wonderful. If you you eat outside, I highly recommend it, as it completes the atmosphere that the food delivers. Eat here. A lot. If you live in The City and have not been here, GO. If you are a tourist, it is a few steps from Union Square and in an alley. GO!!!!!!!"

The fish wrapped in Banana leaves was a highlight as the flavors were quite unique and tasty. The lamb was amazingly tender and delicious. Ginger and Coconut is a staple in most of the dishes. The interior is dark but beautiful with a focus on European Colonialism. The service is attentive but stoic. The prices are a bit high but worth visiting on a special occasion."

  • "My friends and I went for girl's night. We had the best time! We ordered the most amazing cocktails and opted to share several appetizers verses traditional entrees. What can I say? There were just too many yummy things we had to try. The service was impeccable. We felt taken care of the entire time. Our server was helpful making suggestions and checking in to see how we were doing. His dessert cocktail creations for us really made the night. I will totally be back"

Moved to the dining room where the food was spectacular. The Sea Bass and the Steak were great. But the brussel sprouts were to die for. Definitely an evening to remember."

  • "This isn't a tourist trap, but full of local SF dinners who appreciate stimulating their taste buds with unique flavors that tantalize the palate. It is a dining pleasure. It isn't a fancy 5 star place, but it's a wonderful upscale local eatery that takes you to a foreign land in both decor & flavors. My meal had such wonderful flavors that I didn't want to have desert because I wanted to savor the taste in my mouth a while longer. Our waitress Lauren was wonderful and helpful in guiding us through the menu & helping us decide on dishes that fit our tastes. The sommelier was very helpful in guiding us to a wine that paired perfectly with our dinner. If you're tired of the same old, this will give you a wonderful treat for your taste buds!"

We were looking for a bit of music and some good food (not necessarily at the same place) and found Le Coloniel; a fusion between Vietnamese and French cuisine. We shared an entree of Sea bass steamed in banana leaves with various herbs and spices. It was delicious as were the spring rolls before it. A good and moderately priced Pouilly-Fuisee accompanied our meal as we listened to The Hot Club of Paris - a dynamic Django Reinhardt inspired Hot guitar jazz group with great voices and deep musicality. A wonderful evening."

  • "Ordered two entrees: - Appetizer: Cha Gio Tom Cua (Crab rolls) - Delicious - Vit Sot Me (Duck breast & Brussel sprouts) - Delicious - Ca Ri Tom (Coconut curry prawns) - Was in a very watered down broth, without very much flavor. Do not recommend 2 glasses of Wine + 1 appetizer + two entrees = ~$100 out the door."

  • "We were a party of five, were greeted cordially and shown immediately to our table. The platter of appetizers was a tasty start, and although the entrees were brought to the table a little quickly, all were very delicious. Our guests were French speakers and they were delighted to be able to converse with the wine steward in French. Our server was exceedingly attentive without being intrusive, was helpful with the menu and authentically friendly. The room was quiet enough to be able to easily converse, but we didn't feel alone. One guest had a birthday, and without making any request, the waiter arranged for a candle on his dessert with a chocolate script "happy birthday." Little touches like that make you want to come back."

  • "My wife and I went to the restaurant for the first time for Valentines Day. Even though we reserved a few weeks in advance, our table seemed to be a temporary table by the bathrooms and kitchen. Our food was served 1.5 hours after ordering and the two adjacent tables had similar service. We had a late dinner reservation, which meant we were eating dinner after 10 p.m. when we were finally served. We could not see the menu because the lighting at our table was poor and the sweet potato fries were cold when served. The junior staffing seemed confused with the appetizers -- someone tried to serve us another table's appetizer. I think this restaurant wanted to make more money and took too many reservations.Think about your customers first."

  • "I made reservations well in advance. We were sat upstairs and the noise level was really loud. I felt like I was in a bar versus a nice restaurant which really ruined the mood. My boyfriend and I always come here for our special occasions- birthdays & anniversaries, but this experience was different.When we arrived there was a manager at the front desk visibly upset at the hostesses. This was not the greeting i was expecting when entering a nice restaurant. We were not greeted just told they would be with us in a moment. After being sat we waited 15 minutes before being greeted. The server explained she was sorry that they had over 500 people. I ordered the Chilean sea bass and it did not taste as good as it usually does.Side dish came late"
