"Food was inconsistent. The headline jazz musician that we went to see didn't show up, and the group that played was just okay. The wine that we ordered was not available (although the one we ended up with was fine). The remote location would be worth the trip if the music, the food, and the ambiance were all great, but they weren't. The service was very attentive, but overall it was a disappointing experience."

"To describe the food as delicious is an understatement. The ribs are so great you don’t even need the sauce! The meat comes right off the bone. When we dipped the ribs in the sauce it was an added bonus.

They didn’t make us feel like we were just another customer. They made us feel welcomed. The staff was friendly and professional.

The live band was great as well. We couldn’t have had a better time anywhere else. All of the people in the group agreed to go back soon."

"Had a nice experience here. Was a not too crowded Saturday night and got a last minute reservation with no problem.
Ambiance is nice but a little vacant feeling, large warehouse space, could be warmed up a bit with some draperies or carpet.
Food was very good although they were out of two items that I would have tried.
Ribs were awesome, love the sauce! Waitstaff and owner (Jamal) were very pleasant and eager to please.
$10 entertainment charge if you eat during love music times as we did but good jazz.
Will return!"

"This was my first time to visit this establishment. The service was on the slow side but the entertainment and food made up for it. So plan on sitting back and enjoying the entertainment and food at a slow pace and you will definitely enjoy your visit."

"I found a large (about 1x1.5 inches) clear plastic piece in my soup. It was sharp and pointy. They brought me another bowl. This time the soup was hot instead of luke warm, but the vegetables still tasted like they hadn't been cooked all the way, and there was still very little, if any, seafood in my seafood chowder. I've had dry rub ribs before in Memphis, TN. They were great, but the ones from this restaurant were just OK. The green beans were seasoned well, but were cold when I ate them. The sweet mash was also good and it was hot when I got it. The waitstaff and the people who work there (manager and chef) were *very* nice and friendly. They did adjust my bill after I spoke to the manager."

"We really wanted to love this place but were disappointed. The proprietor is an incredibly nice guy, but the food didn't deliver. My ribs were served cool to the touch and tasted only of smoke. Husband's brisket was tasty, but the serving size was small. Sides of greens were laughably small. Liked the cornbread. Even though we were seated long before the music started, we were charged $10 per person for entertainment, which made for an expensive, mediocre dinner."

"Great experience!! Very nice, hidden gem, the best beef brisket I've ever had. Wish the side portions were larger. Waitress took a little longer to get to us than desired initially. Waitstaff not in-sync with each other."

"I took my husband to Le Cochon Noir to celebrate a late valentines day dinner. My boss recommended the restaurant and I knew it would be perfect for my husband, who is a musician and a BBQ lover! This place is truly a different dining experience and it's a unique one at that. We both had a blast and the food was fabulous, my husband had the 1/2 rack of ribs and I had the brisket. My husband noted that the ribs were the smokiest he has ever tasted and the BBQ sauce was to die for! My brisket was melt in your mouth delicious. I highly recommend the banana's foster dessert which is made table side, such a neat little touch. Le Cochon Noir made for a very special date night and we will be visiting again but this time with some family and friend"

"Jamal Parker has done a great job of creating a classy jazz restaurant and rib joint with Le Cochon Noir. The food is elegant without being pretentious, service is fast and pleasant, parking is always available, and the prices are great. Our Valentines Day experience was awesome."
