I realized why they had poor review for their reputation. They were not as bad before. We went there for my mom's birthday and I mentioned it to them when I made a reservation. No one even mentioned to say happy birthday to my mom, didn't even ask during the course of lunch if everything is ok, and we were rushed out after our lunch. I felt so bad for my mom, and took her out again to another restaurant and we had awesome experience.

I just went there for dinner with my girlfriend and although the quality of the food was fantastic, we both walked away starving. I understand during restaurant week the portions may be a bit smaller, but the fact of the matter is a glass of wine is almost $20.00 and at $38.00 price fixed I don't expect to walk away with a doggy bag but I do expect to not have to go out for pizza afterwards.

Our dinner during restaurant week 2014 was simply put, amazing! Even though we were first time diners and trying out the restaurant via the less exopensive restaurant week menu, we were treated as if we were royal regulars! We have already recommended Le Cirque to friends and look forward to our next visit. Thank you for a most memorable dining evening!

My mother has always wanted to eat at Le Cirque. Although we had lunch at the cafe, the food was very good and the service was great. Initially, my mother ordered a drink, but she didn't like it (it was too seedy for her taste). The waiter promptly changed her drink with no problem. This truly contributed to a great dining experience. The truffle salad was great-nicely dressed. We ordered the chicken and the trout which was also very tasty. For dessert we had the pineapple and creme brulé, which were very good. Overall, a great experience.

Went for Restaurant Week with a friend. Did wait a long time even though we had a reservation. Even though we made no complaint, we received each a complimentary champagne. Food came in a timely manner and servers were good. Even though reviews said staff had an attitude and/or waiters were not good, I did not see this at all during my lunch. Food presentation was very nice. Happy to have chosen Le Cirque!

One of the guests was an elderly woman who has trouble making up her mind when ordering from a menu. Our waiter was extraordinarily accommodating and kind to her as well as to our total party of three. The service was attentive from all the wait staff as well as from the host and we were not rushed. The staff was on top of each aspect of service including the correct serving pieces for each course. We each said we plan to return some time in the near future. Do ask for Freddie for your waiter - he is the best in the city!

Restaurant Week - Dinner. I had a feeling both Sea Bream Crudo and Salmon just came out of the IKEA cafeteria fridge, where they have been standing uncovered overnight. The Merlu over rice - you generally see that kind of rice in a deli around 7 pm after its been standing there through the hole day, and got dark, dry and crispy from being heated over and over and over again. The fish must have been cooked in butter around 10 am in the morning, and then was standing under heater for the whole day, so the butter crispiness of it was really stale and its color really gave it away. My dish - The LAMB (that is 10 dollars extra) was...not any better than a pulled pork without any sauce. Which part of that LAMB was CONFIT?

Beautiful restaurant, attentive and courteous staff! The salad with truffle vinaigrette was delicious and plentiful; the thinly sliced trout was crisp and moist, and the creme brulee was the best I've ever had. I give the food 4 instead of 5 stars though because my friend did not enjoy the summer pea risotto she ordered, nor the chocolate souffle (I ended up eating it when she ditched it after two bites; it was fine but not as sweet or as outstanding as the brulee.) She's not normally a picky eater, but she said those dishes just weren't hitting "the right notes" for her. She did enjoy her chicken entree, especially the Arbois sauce. Shoutout to the yummy bread rolls, but the focaccia was a bit too salty.

I was very happy with our choice to dine at Le Cirque for restaurant week. We found the menu unique and we were pleased with the selection. We received excellent service and did not feel rushed to finish. The drinks were more expensive than our dinner, but that was expected. Their martinis are delicious. I've always wanted to try Le Cirque and I'm extremely happy I did.

I went for restaurant week on 8/5/14 at 2:15pm. I had the salmon, Merlin and coconut rice, and crime brûlée. The meal was good, but not worth full price. The hostess( women) seemed nice but gave an attitude because I had a lot of things to carry and basically said your reservation was at 215 nastily. I came at 225 and the rest of the party was all ready sitting. The male hostesses was nice he actually asked if I wanted to Check my bags into coat check. However the coat check did not even give me a ticket and looked annoyed. Unless that's what her face just looked like. The waiter gave us the menu and kept giving us a rude attitude the entire meal. I would not come back here based on the service.

I had a reservation for 2 at lunch. I got in a couple of minutes early and they said the table should be ready in a couple of minutes. We waited there for 20 mins and the table was still not ready. I even went in and told them it's a working lunch and we are getting late. We had to leave since we had to continue our meeting elsewhere. WORST PLACE FOR A WORKING LUNCH with no value for other's time!

Went for restaurant week. Was immediately greeted at the door & seated. All of the staff were pleasant. Our waiters very attentive & friendly. My appetizer & entree were luke warm, I prefer food nice and warm but they tasted fine, the fish was delicious. I had the creme brulee, was good, a little too sweet for my taste but was my mistake in ordering. My friend had a salad that was fine but didn't like her entree. However they immediately saw she ate almost none of the plate & offered another entree but she declined; they seemed very accommodating. She ordered the panna cotta that was amazing. I wanted to try a meal here because of all the hype but was a tiny bit disappointed. But I would still recommend -only for restaurant week prices.

Say you were to accidentally choose "still" water out of the only two options mentioned (still or sparkling), and the server were to ceremoniously present a large bottle of Fiji water and quickly twist off the cap, and you were to apologize and tell him you actually wanted tap water... Right, say that were to happen: simply be prepared to be treated as a second class citizen for the rest of the meal. Waiter: in case you're wondering if we noticed? We noticed.

I went for restaurant week and the service was lackluster. We were seated right away sans menus , it took 15 min for anyone to come to our table to give us menus and another 10 minutes before anyone filled up water glasses. The server only came by twice, once to take our order and once to drop off the check both with an annoyed attitude in his voice. I would have ordered more had the server been around. Another thing that really bugged me was multiple sets of disgustingly dirty silverware were given to us during different courses and took stopping several servers/bussers attention before new silver was given to us making our food cold. Highly disappointed.

Very unimpressed. We came at lunch time - they made us wait 25 minutes past our reservation for a table, despite the fact that the table we were ultimately seated at was empty the whole time. Then it took about ten minutes to get our menus, and another fifteen before anyone asked what we wanted to eat. The waiter who brought our wine poured a little for my friend to taste - and then never topped him up, and it took quite a while for anyone to come back with the bottle. No one ever asked how our entrees were (they were okay, not the level I was expecting of this caliber of restaurant). In short, the service was very poor. I won't go back.
