A word from Le CinQ
With its tasteful combination of old-world charm and modern elegance, The Bistro at Le Cinq brings a touch of whimsical sophistication to Montreal’s world-renowned culinary scene.
Offering a modern twist on the traditional French bistro, Chef Maxime Delmont uses the finest , market-fresh ingredients to create savory house specialties that are sure to please the most discerning palate.
Enclosed by massive wrought-iron gates, Le Cinq’s open-air terrace offers guests the opportunity to dine al fresco in the Bistro section or simply mingle in the shade of the tree that overlooks the Bar area. Protected in the event of inclement weather, the terrasse and courtyard is one of Le Cinq’s most distinctive features.

I was looking for some
"authentic", albeit still French-Canadian, French food in Montreal. Around 7:30, the place was dead, but no problem. Food was absolutely delicious, and didn't take long to cook. At the end of the meal, our waiter asked if we'd like dessert or coffee, and we declined. We then proceeded to wait for 40 minutes without a return from our waiter, as he helped the French-speaking tables next to us multiple times over. Then, as I paid the bill, I was asked "If I was Canadian", and said no. I was then told that there was a mandatory 15% minimum tip and, quite literally, was asked to take my wallet out again. I won't generalize the city of Montreal, however, I did not appreciate the treatment of the "French" wait staff."

La nourriture n'était vraiment pas
bonne. Ça m'a beaucoup déçue..."

I had the Salmon tartar, was
missing taste, the sauce that came with it was very good. As a main dish I had the Salmon, again no taste, not cooked enough and served with pasta... "

Food was a bland. we shared the
salmon tartare and then had the scallop & shrimp brochette and seafood pasta. Sauce for pasta was delicious but pasta was overcooked and lacking salt."

Very nice French meal with good
wine (but pricey starting at $45+/bottle). Nearly empty on an off-season Monday night. Ignore the dessert menu of great sounding sweets and ask for a cheese plate. You won't be disappointed!"

Bizarre que la table d'hôte ne
comprenne pas le thé ou le café!"

I brought my mother in law, living
in Ontario, to Le Cinq and she and I loved it! The gothic architecture, the good food and the good service was really up to the standard I was excepting from this restaurant. I recommand it for those who want a good experience of fine dining in Montréal. The only thing I would like to add, it is expensive, approx. 160$ with tips and taxes for 2 people with a bottle of wine."

For Valentine's Day, Le Cinq had a
fixed 5-course menu. My wife and I were impressed by the flavors and presentation of each dish that was served. The service was also excellent. Our waiter explained each dish as it was served, recommended a wine that complimented our meal, and we never had to wait more than 5 minutes after a dish was completed."

The food presentation was very
nice, the food itself was very ordinary with little or no taste. Wine too expensive starting at $50. so we did the glass option at $11. Beautiful old church converted into a restaurant but with way too much lighting, inconsistent decor and very bad paint. The music was ok, but very loud. Too many people walking in and out of the restaurant area, most likely due to the lounge on the second floor. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant for pleasant night out for people whom want to enjoy a good meal with some good affordable wine and of course a beautiful environment. Please note that the waiting staff were very, very good."

We came four for dinner and
realised that the building was a great piece of architecture!!! There is a disco in the second part of the building starting at 10PM. Now about the restaurant part: the food was great, and the service quite extraordinary! Just a few examples: Entering, we were offered a choice of tables which were all good but had different pount of view The pace was perfect and the waiter' attitude was just friendly enough without entering our personal bubble. questions on food were answered and wine pairing suggestion was excellent. All in all, a great experience to be repeated soon..."

Had a late night bite at le Cinq
last Friday. The Bistro space is beautiful but the food was not. Pasta was barely warm and actually undercooked, creme brûlée was thin and watery. Service was good, wine was good, but the food dissappointed."
