  • Great Lebanese Restaurant

This Lebanese restaurant was recommended by a Lebanese colleague as the best in the area. What is notable is that she lives in Dearborn, which is known for its middle eastern restaurants. She actually drives across town with her family to come here. It is clear why-- it is superb.

LeChef offers wonderful middle eastern selections, even for vegetarians, vegans, etc. We had a large group, so our food choices were varied, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The mujadra is excellent, made with rice and lentils instead of cracked wheat and lentils. The salads are delicious. The wine selection is reasonably priced, and they have an organic red that is excellent.

The food was tasty-basic Lebanese fare. The restaurant has an upscale decor but is diminished by the music which was off the radio-ads and all.

While everything was fabulous, we feel the cost of the entrees are a bit pricey and would come more often if they were lower. $21.00 for stuffed zuchinne? Really? Still, on special occasions I would pay that. However, you are missing a popuation that would love the food if they could afford to come.

We have many middle eastern restaurants in our area, but LeChef was truly a great find. The mujadra was perfect, made with rice & lentils, which is great for me since I have a gluten sensitivity. There is a chickpea & garlic appetizer that could have been our meal, it was large and filling. I would recommend this restaurant easily.

A really nice meal - Middle Eastern food a cut above most of the similar restaurants in Metro Detroit. Nice to sit outside, but the service was slow - and it was a very quiet night for the restaurant. Everyone enjoyed their food and the wait staff was helpful. Will come back.

I usually go here for a lunch with colleagues or friends when we want to converse extensively during the meal. Food is very good with a Lebanese flavor and creative twists, service is efficient but unobtrusive, the setting is elegant and the ambience is relaxed. Although it is located in the corner of a big box style parking lot, the restaurant is screened off with large potted evergreens and the outdoor dining area is lovely. We've introduced many friends to the place and they have become regulars.

  • Upscale Lebanese Gem

This gem claims the corner of a parking lot turning it into an oasis of gracious dining. A spacious room with well-appointed tables is supplemented by an outdoor area screened off with a dense wall of evergreens for warm weather dining. The large menu includes traditional Lebanese favorites as well as less familiar dishes, each accompanied by a description. Wait staff are ready to help. Dishes were tasty and generous. One starter featured strips of calamari lightly floured and gently sautéed, perfectly tender - nothing like the common fried rubbery rings. The crushed lentil soup was hearty and earthy. Our gracious and always-smiling waiter treated us as guests in his home. This was our fourth visit and each has been equally pleasant.

  • Good food, service was slow

    Dined on 5/13/2013
My husband and I very much enjoyed our dinner. The food was very tasty and there were some menu items that we had never seen before on a Middle Eastern menu. The décor was nice, ambiance was good. There was outdoor seating (which was not appropriate for the weather at the time), although it was not extensive seating. Our only complaint was that the service was a bit slow. However, I think the restaurant had not been open that long at that point, so I hope they have ironed that out. Overall, I would go back and try it again.

This is our third time here and each time we have had good meals. The portions are very large and could easily be enough for 2 people. I do think the prices are steep especially since there are so many other wonderful more reasonable priced middle eastern restaurants in our city. The ambience here is nicer for a special occassion but if you are low on funds, stick to the many other choices out there.

We recently had dinner at Le Chef. A friend was visiting from an area where Middle Eastern restaurants are non-existent. She particularly came for the American String Quartet concert, and we made reservations at Le Chef. We expected it would be very delicious. (The reviews were excellent.) The service was great. The dessert was really great. Desserts aren't listed on the PDF menu, so I can't give you its name, but I think it was described as a traditional Lebanese dessert. The main dishes were not remarkable compared to the much more moderately priced Middle Eastern restaurants we usually patronize. Good food, but I think I'll stick with less ambiance and lower prices when I want a Lebanese meal. Our friend, however, was very happy.

A welcome entry in the local Middle Eastern cuisine offering, this restaurant is well-done, with linens, gracious appointments and efficient service. The food was authentic and nicely plated. It is far more upscale than restaurants serving similar cuisine. Too bad it is hidden in such an unappealing location, with a Sam's Club and Home Depot in an off-road complex.

We had a great dining experience here! The atmosphere is quite intimate. Our party enjoyed the chicken tawook and shish kabob dinners; both were made the way we ordered them and were very tasty. We also had the fatoosh salad to start, which was crisp and fresh. The service was excellent. Our waiter, Jeff, was knowledgeable about the menu options. My beverage was refilled as soon as I put the empty cup down; he was very attentive to our table. No complaints at all, we're sure to dine there again soon.
