A word from Le Caire Lounge
Boasting an intimate vibe and a distinct Mediterranean flavor, Le Caire Lounge with its sultry red curtains, dim lighting, and textured walls offers an ideal set up for a nice dinner, cocktails, private parties, birthdays or even a first date.
As the space features a blend of contemporary and world music, as well as belly dance shows, it gets loud with live dj's & dancing on Fri & Sat after 10pm but for a chill out night or Romantic dinner it's best on weeknights Sun-Thu when it's not too loud.

Le Caire Lounge offers a reasonably-priced array of Mediterranean classics like kebabs, seafood, Vegetarians, hummus, falafel, dessert, and some Authentic Egyptian dishes.

The place was ok, I wish they told you there was a 20% gratiutiy regardless of group size and would turn down the music so that you can talk to the people at your table.

I've been going to Le Caire for a while already. Their food is authentic and delicious. Staff and manager are friendly and would go out of their way to accommodate you. Weekends are loud with live DJ's & belly dancers. Weeknights are less crowded and not loud for a more romantic atmosphere.

Overpriced. They placed us Downstairs where it was empty and dark.hardly any service. I left because it.became.boring and.the belly dancer never showed. Horus on Avenue B is way better. I regret ever coming here.

Our waitress was Magda and from the beginning of the evening she provided warmth, humor, and competence. I arrived early and she promptly informed me of the "Happy Hour" specials. Once my date arrived we sat in our booth/stable/stall and diligently perused the menu...Magda assisted us with her knowledge of Gluten-free aspects of the menu and we were off and running. The dining area is a dark well-lit area that provides a romantic ambiance for couples. The portions of food are generous and the pricing reasonable. I would recommend this off-and-away spot to any individual seeking Mediterranean cuisine at a respectable fare. JCT

I don't understand at all about this restaurant. This is not a restaurant, where people smoke pipe or having fun and a lot of noise. Very poor bellinis drinks and food taste is bad.

we were there very early so the place was empty. our waitress was extremely attentive and helpful. the food was good, i've had better, and i thought it was a little pricey, but not outrageous. there was no hooka-smoking (thankfully), so i'm not sure if it gets smoky. but the place has a cool vibe and the neighborhood is great.

There's a fun atmosphere and really well mixed music. The staff is nice and the belly dancer was great. The food was reasonably proceed though the drinks were a little steep. This is definitely a great place for dinner, drinks and dancing :-)

Be advised, this is a Hookah Bar. If you don't like smoke, don't go. The tables are low and uncomfortable for dining. It is a good option for drinks not dinner. Food is average but that does not seem to be their main reason for being. We were not their target demographic. Good for 20-30 somethings.

Went there for the food bc I had a spotlight deal, but this is more of a drink/hookah lounge than a restaurant. The food wasn't bad, my only real complaint is that they automatically added 20% to the check and didn't tell me that they did. I thought it was weird they automatically added it for a party of two and I thought it was pretty shady that they didn't tell me. I don't mind the money at all since I usually tip a little over 20%, but I pretty easily could have double tipped an extra $30

  • A Piece Of Cairo In NYC
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011

The food at Le Caire was incredible. I was just in Cairo in July and although not an exact replica, the food definitely brought me back to Egypt. The decor was great, although seating was a little interesting as my group of 7 ended up sharing one table as more folks started streaming in. The service was pretty good but it became harder to get the staff's attention once it got busier, however; once you did, everyone was super attentive. My friends and I ordered a hookah pipe and it was very good as well; extremely flavorful and smooth. I would definitely go back to Le Caire again and would certainly recommend it to others.

Service was terrible, we were the only ones in the place and still, the server had no idea on how to approach a table, take an order or follow up with us. She even added 18% grad, very rude considering she did nothing and we were constantly having to go up to the bar and ask for drinks or plates to be taken away. The food was the only thing keeping us there otherwise I would have gotten up and walked out

We went there on a tuesday night o there was singing entertainment, very mellow good energy. The ambiance in quite romantic and chilled out. The food was amazing when it did finally come out, seriously it took forever. Speaking of which the service was kind of lacking but everything was spot on and the hookah tasted great even though they have a very limited selection of flavors.

Loud loud loud. Small space fills up fast, and to balance that out they just keep turning up the music. We came for dinner and hookah, but gave up on food when we couldn't get any service. The server came over three times in the course of 90 minutes, even after we told her we would be wanting to order food later. The hookah came relatively quickly and was delicious, but drinks were hard to come by (and the selection is really slim) and food was out of the question. I will not go back.

Small, quaint good ambiance. Good hookah bar for small groups or after work get togethers. Service could be a little better. If you have a group, get ready to give up your credit card and ID for a while. That was a little tacky!

The pictures on the website were very deceiving. The restaurant is very small and the tables are low and rather uncomfortable so we asked to be seated at the bar (which seats three). We ordered the Mezze Combo which was pretty good, the hummus being the only disappointment. For dinner, we shared the Mix Grill, which was not very good. The kofte kebab was rather good, but the falafel was very dry and crunchy, the rice was typical buttered rice and I forgot what the vegetable of the day was, I only remember the big white onion that was on the plate that had some grill marks on it. The rest of the meats were rather bland which was disappointing because I was very excited about going here.

The experience was mixed. We had a great waitress who when i ordered a double whiskey gave so much 'extra' that it looked more like a quadruple than a double! And whilst the place is small and vibey and the hookas great, the tables were too close together, the seating wasn't terribly comfortable and the hookas were just way overpriced at $25 each. I would recommend it for a one off visit but wouldn't return.
