  • "Excellent food, fluent and professional service - I will recommed this for sure!"

  • "The best food i've even eaten, and i've eaten all over the world, this place is absolutely incredible!"

  • "We took one of the tasting menus. It started ok. The first few dishes were well presented, the taste were on the light side, with a clear Asian accent. The last 2 savory dishes (crab and See bass) were clearly over powered and the taste not so pleasing. This restaurant is not cozy. The service is tuned and precise like a German factory. As a result, you feel like in a bee hive or in a food court and all that service is not really personnal. The foot traffic around you is overwhelming. They did a good job at controlling the sound, but there is just too much activity around. Our previous experience in NYC with an Opentable top 10 was great, but I would not qualify this one at the same caliber."

  • "Outstanding food and service. By far one of the best restaurants I've ever being. I fully understand why it is considered one of the best restaurants in the world."

  • "We have been fortunate to dine at many 'star & 'hat' restaurants overseas and would rate Le Bernardin as the best; a big call! We enjoyed an incredibly delicious and balanced degustation dinner including wines and then met Eric Ripert and were given a tour of the kitchens. We will definitely recommend to our friends - We booked 4 weeks in advance from Sydney online which was essential -"

  • "Always out standing service and food. Best seafood restaurant in the city. Food comes out promptly. Wait service is on top of it the whole meal. Every bite is outstanding"

  • "Had the privilege of taking my daughter to Le Bernadin for lunch. Exquisite. Rare for a world-class restaurant to overwhelm you with subtlety. The food, service, and atmosphere were all world-class without ever overdoing anything--a sign of true mastery. A meal and experience to remember. Bravo."

  • "Le Bernardin sets the standard for a fine dining experience. My exceptions were so high that I felt that if any aspect of my dinner wasn't perfect, I'd be disappointed. So... the dinner was much better than I ever thought it would be. We had the expensive chef tasting with wine pairing. Each dish and glass of wine was tremendous, with flavors and quality I haven't experienced before. Plus each wine was of exceptional quality. The service was impeccable, with new silverware and glassware set between each course. The ambience of the restaurant is first class with beautiful artwork and flowers complimenting the comfortable seating. A truly amazing dinner."

  • "Le Bernadin never disappoints. But the salmon and black bass on the tasting menu was absolutely sublime. Definitely the best seafood in the city- maybe even the country."

  • "In a week where we visited a number of New York's top restaurants, Le Bernadin was quite a disappointment. Our first course was top-notch, but our mains were both disappointing. My dover sole was rubbery and needed a knife to cut through, which was shocking for a 3-michelin star restaurant that built its reputation upon the finest fresh seafood. Atmosphere was refined, service was excellent, but the food simply didn't stand up to the competition. In speaking with locals and staff at other restaurants, there was no surprise at all about that -- sort of a "oh, I'm sorry no one told you to avoid it, that's too bad." Perhaps it was a bad day, but the impression I got speaking with people in the know is that it trades on its past reputation."

  • "We recently went there to experience a 3 star Michelin restaurant. The food was amazing to say the least. We never knew food could taste so amazing. You were overwhelmed with staff as they served you. Like a giant team working as one, each having there own function to make the dining experience great."

  • "Nothing tops Le Bernardin. Period. Deserving of every one of its Michellin or NYTimes stars."
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • "I was hoping for a great experience in Le Bernadin especially since I think that a restaurant that is difficult to get reservations should really mean something. A little disappointed. For one thing, I was warned over the phone that we are given two hours tops to enjoy the meal. As popular as they may be or think they are, I believe that is just plain rude. The food was fine but not anything exciting. Predictable tastes. I was impressed by the cheese cart. A bit stingy with the breads. It's not that the diners in their establishment cannot afford, but this does not have much value and there are better French dining choices out there."

  • "On 3 previous visits to NYC, we could not get in. We planned this trip 2 1/2 weeks in advance & could not get in. 3 days before our trip, I took a stab. There must have been a cancellation because we got in & at 9pm! It is extremely expensive. Dinner w/a bottle of Graves was over $700, including tip. Dinner began w/an amuse courtesy of the chef. We stuck to their specialties and ordered all seafood courses. The flavors were clear, clean and astoundingly good. Our waiter was wonderful. His support staff was quietly, unobtrusively efficient. I chose the wine but consulted the sommelier & she OK'd my choice.....first 2 glasses....she was there. Then, she disappeared. We had to ask someone to find our bottle. Overall, a great dinner!"

  • "Although we never run out of new restaurants to try in NYC, we always save a day for lunch at Le Bernadin and it never disappoints. When you walk in the doors you know you have found an oasis of calm in hectic Mid-town and that you are going to be in for a treat. The service is impeccable and the food is perfection. We started out sharing the octopus and foie gras, which were both delightful. Our main courses were the monkfish and black bass. Again, outstanding. And the desserts were yummy. Accompanied by a white Burgundy, the meal was fabulous. We will be back next time."

  • "I am humbled by the experience of dining at Le Bernardin. The food is spectacular to eat, the amuse bouche and desserts are generous, the service as one would hope for. The only trivial complaint I could make -- and I'm stretching -- is that the wines in my $150/bottle price range tasted ordinary. I'm sure I was the only one of our foursome to feel that way, though. I can't wait for another special occasion to go back."

  • "great room and impeccable service… fish is so difficult for most restaurants to get right - le bernardin, and chef ripert, nail it perfectly..."

  • "We love Le Bernardine. Allways have had an amazing experience. Not on this occasion. The food was not special. The sauces were bland. Very dissapointing, not what we expected."

  • "Every two years, my daughter and I take a father/daughter trip. She chooses anywhere in the U.S. and we go. Her last three trips have all been to NYC, and we now have a tradition of a lunch at Le Bernardin every time. We agree that it is consistently the most spectacular meal that we get not just in NYC but anywhere in the U.S."

  • "I wanted to try Le Bernadin for two reasons: 1. it's one of the few places that the chef known to the restaurant continues to be there and 2. it revolves around fish/seafood. I loved all the dishes in the tasting menu. The service was lovely and our attendant knew her wines well which my BF got. they don't do as many little extras like Per Se or Meadowood but nonetheless it was a lovely experience. I hear their lunch is also spectacular and am planning on returning to their bar to have a dinner meal. The ambiance is definitely louder that the above mentioned places, but still a place to celebrate, to enjoy good food."

  • "I love this place!! It is my go-to restaurant for all the special occasions of my life. I take very close friends here for each of their 5 year birthdays. I once took special students here as a graduation gift. The staff has put themselves out to make everyone feel special. Picture 6 17 and 18 year olds whose idea of fine dining is Wendy's instead of Macdonald's ,eating here!.The food, of course, is creative and of exceptional quality but the treatment they received as honored guests, blew their minds. They were treated to patient explanations of complex dishes, extra desserts and packets of goodies for graduation gifts. I suspect that these future "masters of the universe" will be come as devoted to Le Bernardin as I am."

  • "It was really difficult to get an evening g reservation at a decent time. I finally manage to get a 9.45pm reservation which was the best of several bad choices. Then I saw that lunchtime reservations were easier to come by and a midday reservation was available. The food was good but not exceptional. The starter of hamachi was very good and worked well with the yuzu sauce. I was underwhelmed with my entree. I had the merluza which I found quite bland. Perhaps my expectations were too high but it really wasn't anything special. The dessert was exceptional. The chocolate Mille feuile was the best desert I've had in a long time. The service was excellent as you would expect as was the wine list. Overall, it was a nice lunch but not great."

  • "My wife and I opted for the short tasting menu which was still quite filling. It was a great seafood journey involving plenty of variable tastes, texture and colors, which each course building upon the past. It ended with a refreshing sweet chocolate/coffee based treat. Even the breads, of which there were many, offered tasty bites best utilized to soak up the residual broths/sauces."

  • "We love fine dinning in New York. Our favorites are the typical...Jean Georges, Daniel, Gramercy Tavern...etc...but our very favorite is Le Bernardin. The food is to die for and the overall ambiance is unrivaled. The service is also unparalleled."

  • "Received an outstanding service, and very good food preparation. Wine pairing is a great option to taste. Restaurant needs a redesign, a little more fancy."

  • "Le Bernardin is like an unopened gift, beautifully wrapped and evoking great anticipation. Once opened the gift continues with artfully designed plates of delicate choices of fish, fowl or meat and brilliant desserts. Eric Ripert is a master and should be proud of his expert staff."

  • "Coming from Israel we booked for the attractive priced lunch a few weeks in advance and so we found ourselves sitting in a magic bubble right in the center of New York. I can write on the three courses my wife and I had but it will do no justice to the food unless you really taste it. A wonderful Jamet white from the Northern Rhone Valley went so beautifully with the fish and sea fruit (loved the lobster!) and the desserts were excellent as well. The service - attentive and extremely polite. Don't miss!"

  • "I had high expectations going to Le Bernardin for my birthday lunch (could not get a dinner reservation :() and Chef Eric Ripert and staff exceeded them! The food was amazing, the service was amazing. Everyone was so attentive. The food was out of this world! I'm still drooling over that calamari, which, by the way is not anything you would expect! Best meal ever!"

  • "Le Bernardin is a unique and special restaurant in NYC. Not a restaurant we would eat in very often but go as many times as we can in a year. It is really a restaurant for seafood. The service is outstanding and the atmosphere is relaxing. Everything we had from appetizers to dessert was delicious and prepared well. Always look forward to going back."
