    Restaurant Le Beaujolais can accommodate parties of 10 to 130 people. You can also reserve the entire Restaurant for a Private Functions. Opening hours can be adapted to your need and we can also host Lunch for a party of over 30 guests.

    Our Private Dining Room accommodates 16 to 38 guests for a seated dinner. Our Main Dining Room can comfortably accommodate 90 people for a seated reception.

    We offer a full service bar, featuring an extensive wine list with many of our wines offered by the glass.

The Menu offers something for everyone; AAA Alberta Beef, Elk Osso Bucco, Duck, Veal and a variety of Seafood entrees including Butter Poached Lobster, Arctic Char and Dover Sole. The restaurant also offers an extensive wine list. Renowned Restaurant critic, John Gilchrist, sums up Le Beaujolais best by stating "I just can't believe how reasonable the prices are for the quality, the service, the room, the food and the location.

  • "We were unimpressed by the initial contact with the restaurant. The matradee/bus boy was rude and condicending. The other staff were friendly enough, but our initial meeting was very distasteful. That uptight child should be fired before any further customers are turned off of this place. The food was okay, but better the last time I went a few years ago. Overall, I'd say to pass over this place unless they make some changes."

  • "As time wears on im wondering if Le Beaujolais still has it, for me at least. The staff are good, the food is fine. Here comes the "BUT"... Im not sure that on the menu feature, where the option of 6 course wine pairing is as good as the cost would reflect. Once upon at time, when i was new to wine, I thought Le Beaujolais was the cats meow. As years pass, my knowlegde of wine has grown quite significantly. My point is... the pairing of food with wine. If serving wines, that barely crushes the $18 mark is the point of adequate....then this restaurant for me any longer for food pairings at the least. Not to say there's nothing of value, in that price point. Whats hard to swallow is paying $400 after tipping, and feeling satisfied... "

  • "The restaurant is " tired" . It needs renewing in all areas. Ambience, energy and fresh good food and presentation. It was Friday night. We did the special tasting dinner and NOTHING tasted freshly made! It truly was like having left overs . We also did the wine pairings and when we asked about the wines we were reassured they were very good. When we put one of the wines in our wine app, it came out as a $13.00 bottle of wine"! None of the wines were very good! At the end of the dinner we asked for another macaroon so we each could have one and were told they didn't have any more. Really? This place needs revival. We spent over $400.00 and it was not worth it. We will never return nor recommend it. "

  • "Restaurant was just ok. Went there for special evening with my wife and left disappointed. Very expensive for what you get. I had the ribeye steak and the wife had the tenderloin. Mt steak was thin and overcooked, honestly the Keg is generally better. To be fair the wifes meal was very good, they did do a good job on her tenderloin. I would give this 6.5 out of 10 just on food quality, if I factored in price rating would be much lower. Wife would probably rate at 7.5 or 8 out of 10, she did enjoy here meal much more than I did.   • "Dinner for two this past weekend on a Banff overnighter. Last minute reservation, but they fit us in! Really nice place overall. Great service, tables aren't packed together and for the quality of the meal, the price was quite reasonable. We went with the Veal Saltimboca specials and they were great. Risotto was a touch underdone, but nothing serious. Best part of the meal was the Chenas Beaujolais that we "stumbled" on while perusing the extensive wine list. If you're in Banff and looking to expeience some fine dining without taking out a second mortgage, Le Beaujolais needs to be on your list."

  • "We selected this place as we had heard good things about it, from the food to the servcie. On Saturday evening (Oct 5, 2013), a small group of us dined here, however, while the food was OK, we felt the service was quite slow. It seemed like there was just simply not enough staff for the number of tables....I mean guests. At one point, when our server came with the wine we had ordered, a small amouint was poured (as is customary), and she then left. She attended another table, took an order, then came back to us. HUMMM. Either lacking experience, attention or both. Seems to me a bit of a snooty place. I will likely not be back, next time in Banff"

He even said "we're driving to Banff just for dinner at Le Beajolais" I've already recommended it to my friends! It's definitely a must try. A bit pricey but worth it. The service was outstanding. The decor needs a little bit updating but it wasn't bad. I really liked the big windows. Although I must say, there were two bugs flying around. I would usually get turned off by bugs but this time I didn't. The food was just really good I was able to see past the bugs. :)"

  • "We were warned that we might not like this restaurant. We still wanted to try it. Service was great. Food was good. I had lobster bisque to start. It was so hot I could barely eat it. It was a large serving and I could not finish it. Flavour and presentation was very good. My husband had scallops and scampi tails for a starter. Both were perfectly cooked and had great flavour. For entrees, I had the veal and my husband had filet. Both plates were hot when delivered. Food wasn't better than anything we'd had before, but was good. Once again large portions and I could not finish my plate. The views are spectacular. Full windows around the restaurant give you a view of Banff Ave, the Bow River, and the mountains. Pricing was reasonable."

  • "Our first time in this long standing Banff Restaurant at the corner of Banff and Buffalo. The dinner menu is varied enough without being a novel, and the cellar is well stocked with different varieties of wines. This is no doubt due to the Chef's 6 course menu with wine pairings, which looked delicious but we ordered a la carte. The Elk was excellent, as was the Duck. We observed great wine handling service, from suggestions to proper Decanting and allowances for "breathing". The location is unique, with town, mountain and river views which are all the more attractive as the restaurant is above street by one storey. Thanks for having Gluten Free bread. Maybe show GF more prominently on the menu, so GF's will risk a reservation!"

  • "The food was decent, the service was not good. It took us 25minutes after the waitress gave us the dessert menu to be able to order, and it ended up being a different server taking the prder because she could see we were frustrated, they didnt even give us an option to have nprmal water, then charged us $7 for a small bottle of evian water. When I asked for a recommendation, the server didnt know the menu, and didnt know what part of the elk the meat was coming from. Very expensive for what it was, although the portion sizes were good, the food wasnt as great as I thought it would be. Not sure if I would ever go back."

  • "I wouldn't recomend this place for anyone under the age of 40. The way it's decorated is just so outdated, and it is very quiet (no music playing.) I was not very impressed with the food either, on a $30+ dish they served FROZEN spinach...I mean how does this place have a 4 diamond award if they don't even use fresh spinach...bizarre. Fish was dry, my dish came wrong, food looks better than it tastes and the atmosphere is HORRIBLE."

  • "The positives are that the view is nice, the service is mostly very professional and the prices are not too bad. Unfortunately the food is just fair. There is nothing new, interesting or inspired about the menu or the food we sampled. I found the service to be really good, that is, until the bill arrived. They had added a 15% tip automatically despite us being only a table of 2. There was a note on the menu about this mandatory charge for groups of 6 or more. We then apparently had no choice as when the waitress returned with the interac machine the amount was already punched in with that arbitrarily decided 15%. I found this really tacky. Finally, the restaurant decor is really out of date. There is much better in Banff."

  • "My husband and I come to Le Beaujolais rarely, as we consider it a total and complete treat. It is definitely one of the reasons worth the driving to Banff. My husband enjoyed the duck, I had the elk, and our daughter had a vegetarian. At the end we split two deserts between the three of us. As we paid the bill, the waitress brought another plate with a few sampler deserts. Scrumptious!"

  • "From the somewhat unknowledgeable staffer with whom we dealt to the OK but not great food and preparation to the totally unacceptable clientele we were overall relatively underwhelmed by Le Beaujolais. Our evening was certainly colored badly by the four tables of "snow birds" who spent most of our shared time there shouting back and fourth between their four tables (spread the width of the entire restaurant) about everything from grandchildren, to what type of BMW was the best, to US politics. While it is not the restaurants fault that people of such advanced age had no manners or concerns for their fellow diners, it certainly set a tone for the evening. Beyond that, everything else was just pretty average: not bad, just not befitting."

Everything was interesting, inventive and out-of-this-world flavourful. The same can be said for the wines. The service was knowledgable and not obtrusive. Also they were able to accommodate for a really large group, being very attentive. This is definitely one of those places that has been around for awhile thus it has a slightly outdated look. Also, the music that was used was a bit "sleepy" (not that there needs to be hard core metal). However very cozy and great for a special occasion. As for the food itself, lots of flavors that went well with each of the courses. If I were to return to Banff, I would definitely try them again!"
