Had an amazing night dining here. We were seated outside in a table for 2 and the ambience was was perfect for a chilly night at the row. Our table was ready within 5min and the waitress took good care of us throughout the night. The breads are really warm and soft too so avoid filling up on them. I tried the 12oz Ribeye medium rare and I was almost too sad when I finished it. My wife went with the filet mignon and italian red. Overall a fantastic night and my compliments to the amazing kitchen staff.

I guess we should have followed the table behind us and returned our steak 3 times before they got it right. Unfortunately we tolerated our steak and just ate it. But it was so tough that my normally steak loving 4 year old kept spitting it out and refused to eat it. If the $50 steak is not even good enough for a 4 year old, I think that says something about the quality.

I'll admit, I just kind of figured this place was trendy because it's on Santana Row. But we went on Friday night, and it was REALLY good! My steak was perfect, boyfriend's pork chop was yum, and we tried an awesome new wine.

Had a poor experience here once before - steak smelled like it had been cooked in lighter fluid. But decided to give it a second shot. Wish I hadn't bothered. Had a $50 steak that was possibly the worst steak I have ever had in my life. Tough, surrounded by fat, sinewy, and generally inedible. Restaurant at least adjusted our tab accordingly. This place is way over-priced. Poor quality food at premium prices. Will never return.

My wife, son, and myself visited LB Steak last Friday. The restaurant and the entire area around it was booming. We started out with sampling some red and white wines recommended by our server before finally making our choice. We were not disappointed. LB Steak has an extensive wine collection. For appetizers we tried the fried calamari and we all agreed that it was the best we had ever had. Very tasty with a nice salsa. For dinner I have the filet mignon, my son the NY steak, and my wife the chicken. In addition we ordered a caesar salad, fries, and mushrooms. All were cooked to perfection and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Service was excellent throughout and paced. All in all a very pleasant evening.

Be aware that you as customers will be treated differently in this joint. The quality of the service is uneven from server to server. Last time when I dined there in early August, the server was awesome. This time, the server didn't seem to want to be there. I had to asked 3 times before the merlot finally came. The server to the next table was attentive and introduced the menu to diners and we didn't even know what's special. It turned out to be the lobster which we would have ordered. Food is good.

We went on 9-3. There was NO ONE in the restaurant which troubled me at first but the server said lunch is always that way after a three day week-end. OK, this place is not cheap at all; the food is very expensive which I don't like. BUT, my husband just ordered for me while I was washing my hands so I didn't agonize over a $40 steak, sides are extra. No really. Absolutely everything about this meal was perfect. I am picky too but the presentation, doneness, service and flavors were stellar. Truly a memorable meal. I had the NY steak [$40] and side potato [$6]. My husband chose the French dip sandwich [$15] and fizzy water [$7]. His plate was huge and piled with crispy shoestring fries that were perfect.

Went to LB for our 1 year wedding anniversary and it was wonderful. Steak was great as always, flavorful and well cooked. Calamari as an appetizer was fresh and the sauce they serve underneath it was a good addition. I took one star away on food as they have made a change to their menu and removed their mashed potatoes, which I thought were very good and looked forward to having them during this visit. Instead they now serve potato au gratin, which did not have a lot of flavor and weren't served hot, won't be ordering those again. LB was so thoughtful and ended our evening by celebrating us with a very good dessert. Thank you LB, you didn't disappoint!

My son took me to dinner at LB Steak for my birthday. We ate on the patio on a warm night and loved the atmosphere. We shared the Pig and Fig appetizer, which was delicious, and then both ordered dry, aged steaks. I had a rib eye; my son had a New York steak. Both were cooked to perfection. We shared the mac & cheese, creamed spinach, and potato gratin side dishes. The first two were delicious, but the potatoes were quite dry. They had little flavor, and seemed to be lacking the sauce. I had a Malbec red wine that was delicious. We both ordered desserts...one peach melba and one chocolate mousse with filigree cookies...both good. Service was fine, but our waiter seemed to be spread quite thin. Not a lot of focused attention.

On an unexpected date night, we found ourselves here and spent about 2 1/2 hours for dinner. It was wonderful to sit, relax, enjoy the slow pace versus the fast pace of our usual life. Our server, Kiley, was great. She got our humor, engaged with us just enough to make our experience really nice. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly. The wine list had a lot of Napa selections, which is my favorite. The mussels appetizer was enough to make me want to come back. They could have had more selection of sides, but we got the sauteed spinach and corn succotash which were both just average. I also thought the dessert could have had some attention put to it. We got the chocolate fondue to share and it only gets a C- from me.

Service-AMAZING! I believe our server was Brooks, from the moment we sat down to the moment we left he was nothing but fantastic! Some people complained online about service being slow, I like to call it orderly eating. We don't like to rush & would prefer to enjoy the food, atmosphere, & company-so the longer the meal, the better!(As long as we aren't starving) Had cocktails & looked over the menu-decided on two apps-the carpaccio & the figs, phenomenal. During that time we put in an order for a bottle of wine & our steaks. I had the filet, he had the rib-eye. Both cooked perfectly med/rare. Sides are big enough to share w/another person, so don't go crazy on those. All in all, great experience for a special night out with the boyfriend.

Had a great meal... Food was excellent; service very good... The only complaint was that the booth was real close to the doors which were open when the sun was up... We went to LB Steak for my birthday. My wife had the Burger Royale and thought it fantastic. I had the dry aged Ribeye it to was fantastic. I also had the Potatoes Au Gratin very tasty. BLT Salad was a flavorful twist on a wedge salad, the dressing...mmmmm. My daughter, 2 1/2, liked her salmon and fries, mostly the fries and the ketchup. I order the Lemon Crème Brule for desert and was very disappointed. Not very creamy, had frozen cherries in the middle which did not help. It was more a panna cotta, than a cream brule. Wire list was extensive and the Cab that we had was very good.

The service was really good but the rib eyes steak is too salty and the New York steak is too chewy. The meat is not tender . Another thing that dissappointed our expectation is that there was no in house cake for our friend special occasion -- her bachelorette ... Unlike other steakhouse like Morton they would give us a beautifully decorated cake/ dessert from their in house treat at the end of the meal .

Ordered drinks and 3 appetizers to start. I expected drinks to arrive first, instead all 3 apps came and no cocktail to enjoy them with. Had I known that they would deliver all 3 simultaneously I would have asked to stage them starting with the oysters. The octupus and pork belly starters were fine. I found the sauce on the pork belly too sweet. Maybe if the pork was saltier it would have had better contrast. For our mains I had the dry aged NY strip, my date had the salmon. For the price of the steak entrees, sauces should be complimentary. My steak was cooked properly cooked (med-rare, extra char) however it lacked flavor. I had to ask for sea salt. Glad to see they use Maldon in the kitchen, although grey sea salt would have been ideal.

We went in for the Sunday night prime rib special and we were disappointed when it came out not as advertised on the menu or the special board. Instead of a baked potatoe, we were given a meager dollop of mashed potatoes. Instead of the grilled asparagus, we got green beans. When the manager stopped by, we pointed out the switch in sides. He had no idea what the menu said and told is those were the sides the kitchen was serving. We had very little attention from our server, though the server at the table behind ours sounded wonderful! Had to pour our own wine and ask for water when the glasses were empty The hostess was great and we enjoyed the decor/atmosphere. Prime rib was very good, but the other issues will keep us from going back.
