LB Steak Menlo ParkA new beginningWe dined at LB Steak soon after it opened and thought it was OK but the prices seemed high so did not go there until a few days ago. Could not have had a better experience. Service was excellent, the food was good and no complaints !6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinite keeperI noted on my reservation that we were celebrating a special birthday and was pleasantly surprised to be seated in the private room. Perfect for a small group of 8-10. Our server was knowledgable and friendly. The steaks (although I didn't personally have one) seemed great. The slides were nice and the popover bread was a special/unique treat. I'd definitely recommend to others. Nice to have something solid like this in downtown Menlo. WIll also use for other special occasions where a private room for a small group would work beautifully.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat food, excellent serviceour first experience at this restaurant was wonderful. I had the dry aged ribeye and my girlfreind had the Sunday special prime rib.
both were excellent.the service is great and so are the complimentary popovers!!!
we also tried the soup d'jour(s) and the scallops....delicious!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMVery ImpressedI'm not sure but something must have changed here. I came in with a group of friends last year (sept maybe) food/service was a mess. This is my first time back since then and they really seem to of gotten things together. Service was attentive yet casual, and food was a HUGE value. Most steak houses charge for sides, LB's gave 2 with every steak, very nice!
The bone-in filet was so tender and juicy and was the perfect recommendation from our server. We told him how much we loved everything and he suggested that we come back in for happy hour and even brought a menu for us to take home.
We will be back for sure!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Experience at LB SteakAfter having an enjoyable dinner at Left Bank in Santana Row a few months ago, my fiance and I decided to try LB Steak in Menlo Park. The experience was quite exceptional. We ordered the "tomahawk ribeye" for two with croquettes and wasabi split peas. The steak was cooked to the perfect temp and so big we still had plenty to take home.
More remarkably, the level of execution of both the waitstaff and kitchen was surprisingly high for such an unassuming restaurant. Typically to get both high quality food and service, one has to venture to the fancier restaurants in the city where an inevitable air of pretension is likely to accompany your meal. Not hear. The atmosphere was relaxed but still very composed. I would highly recommend it.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Experience at LB SteakHaving had an enjoyable dinner at Left Bank in Santana Row a few months ago, my fiance and I decided to try LB Steak in Menlo Park. We had cocktails, a stater, and shared a tomahawk rib eye for the main. The cocktails were very good and the steak was cooked perfectly.
The overall experience was quite exceptional. Usually high levels of execution by both the kitchen and waitstaff is accompanied by a large bill and air of supercilious self-awareness. Not here. Our server was friendly, attentive, and unassuming. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend LB Steak for those looking for very nice evening.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreg's 15th BirthdayWe had a great evening celebrating our son's birthday. Service was excellent, change in table setting was swift, friendly and courteous. The steaks were fabulous, although my tomohawk was a bit overdone for medium. Nonetheless, a nice evening.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely place for party of any sizeWe went there fore my husband's birthday, and they reserved a nice room for us. Service was top notch. Food was to die for. We have a great time! Will definitely plan more future parties there!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMDont dine early at LBIf you want a peaceful dinner avoid early hour at LB. the restaurant was loud due to screaming children which detracted a lot from an otherwise very nice dinner. Steaks, cocktails, and service were excellent5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMdelictable, delightful, deliciousD3split the risotto as an app
we went with Gruner Verliner by the glass
finally had the iceberg wedge (with a nice amount of bacon!)
She had the short ribs
I had a bone in porterhouse
Side of asparagus & croguette (nneded a hint more leek)
Bottle of Clark Claudon CAb
everyone was pleasant, service was crisp, food was D-cubed

We are going to stop in for the Preakness cocktail and race5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSteaks and much more!Creative menu with special items added to a great core steak offering. Many options to customize the food the way you want it.
Great location with easy parking and access. A staff that wants to please and a very pleasant dinning environment!
I'll definitely return as will my co-dinners...5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDelectable DiningI went to LB Steak with my brother and his girlfriend for her birthday dinner and we had a fantastic time. The manager Chris helped us choose a great bottle of wine to go with our food. The chef sent out the pork belly on brioche with a sunny side egg on top; it was like breakfast for dinner and it was perfect! For dinner I had a delicious filet, my brother had the lamb shank and his girlfriend got the beef medallions. My filet came with two sides so I was plenty full by the time we headed out (hint: get the onion rings *drool*). Low noise level so we could have a great intimate dinner and I could definitely see myself coming here for a nice dinner for two.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second visitThis was our second visit to LB's Sunday roast beef special. Excellent food at an incredible bargain price.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOur club for excellent steaksWe certainly love this place, it is a real findTry the selection of Bourbons and Rye's, a really great selectionHappy Hour appetizers at $5.00 (wifey was late)Anyway, oysters and beet salad to startSplit the very large 32 oz delicious 'Tomahawk Chop' with side of spinach and asparagusWas suprised on the popcorn pannacotta dessert, but it was very tastyThe manager came by and poured some dessert wine, gratis, just to make an introduction, a very classy moveBTW, love the decor and the subtle changes that have been initiatedWe will be back againT4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMBest food in downtown MenloI've been here nearly 10 times, and this was the best.
The food was outstanding and the service was great.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMvery good experience, foodvery good experience, food is excellent, had some bad luck with menue choices not being available4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing FindOne of the best kept secrets in the area. Amazing food and service right here in sleepy Menlo Park. Skip a night out to Palo Alto and treat yourself to this neighborhood gem. Everything on the menu is amazing, especially the dry aged Porterhouse and all of the deserts. Will rival if not beat any of your area favorites, I can promise you that.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Sunday prime rib mealThe Sunday prime rib meal is wonderful. Salad, vegetable, potatoe and dessert included for $30! The meat is exceptional.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMDined here on Monday, andDined here on Monday, and had a wonderful experience. My mother in law and I each had filets and shared a few sides. Both were cooked perfectly and all the food was delicious. Our server Beki was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and attentive. I will certainly recommend Lb Steak and revisit very soon.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was a first time visitThis was a first time visit to LB in Menlo Park (have been to the Santana Row location) and I must say I was impressed. The reviews on open table gave me some what of a skeptical feeling, but I went ahead and made a reservation to cure both my curiosity as well as my craving for a good steak without having to drive too far from home.
I tend to dine a little late but I did show up a bit early for our reservation and we were politely greeted by a smiling young hostes who had us seated right away. The restaurant did seem a bit busy so I do apreciate us not having to wait to be seated.
The portions were were great. We each had our own entree, I had halibut, and she had the filet. Shared a couple sides and were stuffed. We will be back.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMA Sure Thinkg.Fantastic restaurant in Menlo Park - I am glad they opened up here. While the steak is fantastic, this restaurant will make even a vegetarian happy - fantastic salads, plenty of non-steak dishes and of course, awesome steaks. The bar is a great place to meet before dinner or just for drinks. Cannot speak highly enough of our experience here.3/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe will be back! This was my second time at LB Steak, the first time was good but last nights experience was WONDERFUL. I was greeted by 2 smiling faces and promptly sat in a beautiful booth facing the windows. The server was professional and curtious without a hint of pretention, which is always to nice!
My husband was unable to make up his mind and asked the server for a drink recommendation, without blinking she described a "barrel aged negroni" which was some kind of gin drink which they aged in a barrel...awesome! I had a rather nice glass of Cabernet.
All of our food was also wonderful! we got a beet salad and a ceasar, and then two dry aged steaks that were cooked to prefection. Its so nice to go out and have a great meal, we will be back a3/7/2013 12:00:00 AMIt is our understanding thatIt is our understanding that they brought in a Chef from a different restaurant at the Holidays. He Bone in Filet Mignon and root vegetable
All the food was cooked properly, served timely, and augmented with a beautiful KKenndedy Cabernet Sauv
Will be back to try the Prime Rib Sunday, as the inlaws rave about the price and flavor value.2/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExpensive but perfect foodIf you like steak, this is the best I've had in Menlo park. My husband had a fish entree that was perfect as well. The cocktails were great too. The decor is nice and we sat in very comfortable high-back booths. It is not a huge restaurant, but I didn't fee crowded. If I were really wealthy would eat there all the time, it is a on the outer limit of my price range, so need to save it for very special occasions. However, worth the price for an expensive meal.2/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
