  • "We found it very hard to hear the people at our table due the noise level in the restaurant. Probably would be better to book the room with the wine bottles surrounding it. Looked very nice. Food was awesome and we said we would go back. Three of us order the chicken dish and asked to have the chicken not breaded. There was no probably at all getting this changed. The waitress just said that should not be a problem and it wasn't. Very attentive servers."

  • "A good setting to meet friends after work for a drink in their lounge. It wasn't loud so could hear and talk in a regular voice. The $5 appetizers were good, the tomato bruschetta was a good choice."

  • "Although we were early and restaurant many open tables we were placed at small table for two. just felt crowded . Service slow and non-attentive. Food okay but not for the price. Nothing extra, no bread, water never refilled."

  • "Lazia has it all with a manager who really cares, superior staff members and food that is devinely delectable."

  • "We took my mother in-law here for a birthday lunch since we all work downtown. Service was fast & friendly & the food (pick 2 pasta & 2 Asian meals) was full of flavour. We were able to get in & out of there in exactly an hour, always important when you have to head back to work!"

  • "The only complaint I ever have about Lazia is the noise level. It's very hard to have a conversation when the restaurant is busy."

  • "We decided to take advantage of the dinner special event in downtown Edmonton. We chose Lazia as their 3 course meal was very reasonably priced and looked interesting. All 3 courses were excellent. We chose the wild mushroom soup, and baked cedar plank salmon, and key lime cheesecake and raspberry chocolate mousse desserts. The first 2 courses were excellent, and the lime cheesecake was also excellent. We would recommend Lazia as their food quality seems pretty consistent, and would certainly not hesitate to go back."

  • "For a business dinner this restaurant was excellent, the server was attentive but not intrusive, the menu has something for everyone. We dined during Downtown dining week and were very pleased with the food and wine. The ambience was nice, had an energetic vibe. We will be going back to Lazia Downtown."

  • "We loved this gem. Tremendous food and service that we felt was frugal in price for the quality we received."

  • "I was actually excited to try Lazia for the first time, and the DT dining week menu looked quite good. First impressions were lacking, as we were seated in an empty lounge, given that the dining room was no longer open (9pm) - I'd have appreciated knowing prior that we'd be in the lounge. Further, the DT dining week menu wasn't on the familiar black card but on a printed sheet covered in a ratty plastic sleeve. On to the food... the mushroom soup was good, but the steak/lobster dish was ridiculously plated and had an unappealing flavor that I couldn't identify. The salmon was bland and overcooked, and its sauce was VERY thick and highly coagulated (it didn't move as i lifted the plate upright). Key lime cheesecake tasted fake and too sweet."

  • "Food was excellent but the service was very slow and I had to ask them to give me another tea cup as the first one was dirty."

  • "I scheduled a business meeting at lunch time and the restaurant was able to provide a separate quiet room which worked perfectly for our business meeting. We were able to enjoy the meal and the quiet location in a separate room. The service was great and the food is always great. Thanks very much."

  • "Good food and excellent service make this a good choice for dinner before a night at the Winspear or Citadel. With the pedway connection we parked by the library and walked over inside. A real bonus in an Edmonton winter."

  • "I love this place. I only had a tapa today but it was delicious. The food was fresh & it never disappoints. I do miss their happy hour special of half price tapas"

  • "The restaurant was extremely busy during this particular lunch hour but we were seated in a very acceptable period of time -glad we had a reservation. I don't usually order sandwich type meals but decided to try the Lemongrass Chicken sandwich, it was delicious, full of flavour as well as healthy. I did remove the top of the bun as I'm not a big bread fan. The others at the table also enjoyed their meals; the Twisted Cashew Chicken and Butter Chicken were consumed with enthusiasm and comments of intention to order the same dishes on their next visit to Lazia. Great lunch with friendly service!"

  • "The Mediterranean Salad is amazing! You can't go wrong with this dish and the amazing service I always get at Lazia. This is my favourite downtown lunch spot."

  • "Downtown location is much more enjoyable to visit than the north location, really enjoyed the dining area and the price of the food was good value for how delicious it was! Would recommend. Service was great and everyone was very friendly, while still formal."

  • "Staff were really great at ensuring we would have our meal in time to catch our movie. The complimentary treat before dinner was a wonderful surprise and very tasty."

  • "I booked for a later dinner on valentine's day as to avoid the whole dinner rush so we can receive better service. Our server was not paying attention to what we ordered. My girlfriend got her drink wrong, the server did not ask how we wanted our steaks done, and it took a very long time for our entrees to arrive. The chef even came out to apologize for the delay, however, it was to the table behind us (and they just got seated). I took a chance at this restaurant for valentine's day and was disappointed. Never again."

  • "Atmosphere is upbeat and luxurious. Service was immediate, friendly and efficient. Food arrived quickly which was nice as we were on a tight schedule. Size of portions were huge and food was very good both in taste and presentation. Will be returning soon. Reccommend the Pad Thai."

  • "We went to Lazia's downtown after a matinee at the Winspear. We had a 6pm reservation and were early which was not an issue. We were seated right away. Our server was attentive. The service was slow, but the server apologised and the management comped us dessert which was very nice of them. The wait was not a bit issue for us but the free dessert as a much appreciated bonus. The food was mostly very good I have a vinegar sensitivity so was not able to have my first choice, my second a seafood bowl had a pleasant heat but was a little sweet for me and had a significant pool of oil on the top. excellent, l in all we would recommend Lazias if you want to eat downtown. It is good food at a reasonable price."

  • "Very good experience. Went with the girlfriend for valentines day and even though it was a very select menu, the items we chose were both delicious and cooked to our liking. A few more describing notes for the abbreviated menu would have been helpful, but we were both satisfied with our choices. Overall, the final price was fair, and the service and food were well done."

  • "The food was awesome, when we finally got our entrees. The two couples that came in after us were done before us as well. We weren't in any hurry to get to another event which is a good thing since it took 2 hours to finish. Our server was good and like I said the food was great otherwise. I'd still go back and have been recommending it to others. It isn't a cheap restaurant at all so it's more of a special occasion place for us, our bill came to $140 for 2 people."

  • "Poor service, rude server and general apathetic atmosphere. I have been to the Lazia in St Albert several times. It is outstanding. I was totally repulsed by the Lazia downtown. I booked this restaurant for a get together with some girlfriends. I got there and waited six minutes before anyone asked me if I want a drink. Then our server was indifferent to anything we asked. One of the girls asked to have alot of ice her her drink and he did not respond at all - he walked away. He did come back with a drink with ice in it but it would have been nice to respond to her. Then when we ordered our meals he was terse when answering questions and never did come back to see if our meals were ok. He was quick to take the money though. Don't go."

  • "Rarely have we had less attentive service than at a recent visit. The server actually made it feel like we were inconveniencing him when we asked for water or coffee creamer. He made an error on all four orders and sent out the wrong type of nachos. Beef instead of chicken. They were a free promo item and we were billed for them so had to have the bill corrected. Had to ask others for refills and to track down our food as we rarely saw him. Food was okay but fairly small portions compared to most restaurants and nothing too exciting. Very average and has been much better. hope it was an off night."

  • "Lazia is a convenient location with good, but slightly overpriced food. The menu is refreshed often, which is nice. Portion sizes are wacky, sometimes way too big, or strangely small. The service staff is fantastic and food is served fast, which is great for a professional lunch."

  • "Just don't plan on having a quiet discussion. .. very noisy, and the music was loud. Great food, great service, and very well priced. Definitely worth a look if you're in the area."

  • "We had intended try a new restaurant but it was all booked up very early in the day so we decided to return to Lazia. We've been here before and found the food very good for the price. I ordered the Ginger Beef Bowl with rice and vegetables. I had ordered it before and thought it was very good. This time however, the broccoli had a burnt flavor - as if the water in the steamer had boiled away and it had been sitting on a stove with no water in the bottom of the pot. I should have said something to the staff but didn't. I was also not very impressed with the pretzel bite/cheese appetizer. Seemed too small. The dessert was tasty with nice presentation for everyone at our table."

  • "I have always loved going to the northside location, so now that I work downtown and only a few min walk, it is great! Wonderful food, great service. The only negative is that is gets very noisy. So having a lunch meeting is very difficult. But other then that reservations (I think) is recommended!"

  • "Food was brought out very soon after we placed our order. This may explain why my entre was only warm and not hot. It was as though it had been prepared well in advance and 'plated' and was just waiting for someone to order it. The entre was a Nasi Goreng (spelling???) and was only okay. There was not much spice in it and there was not much chicken and shrimp. Given the price of the entre I certainly expected much better."
