A word from Lazaranda Modern Kitchen & Tequila
Lazaranda Modern Kitchen & Tequila, offers classic and contemporary Mexican cuisine rooted in authentic flavors, giving diners the opportunity to experience the tastes and colors of modern Mexico. Lazaranda is the first U.S. venture of veteran Mexican restaurateurs Mario Letayf and Antonio Marquez. At Lazaranda, Letayf and Marquez present the true flavors of modern Mexico right here in Dallas.

"We are proud to bring Dallas the food we serve in our restaurants in Mexico. We invite you to Enjoy and Live Mexico," says Chef Marquez whose 30-year career has brought him from Paris to Los Angeles, back to his native Mexico and now to Texas.

"Authentic" is a word that is frequently used," adds Letayf, who has owned and managed restaurants in Mexico for 20 years. "Since Lazaranda serves the contemporary cuisine of Mexico. Lazaranda is truly the authentic restaurant that many others claim to be."

Diner Reviews
  • "Loved this place! Service was really good although it was almost like they had read the reviews and were trying too hard. Food was unique and superb. We will definitely return! "

  • "I went to Lazaranda for my birthday with a group and it was great. The food was delicious, the margaritas were strong, and the service was quick and friendly. I will definitely go back and bring others with me! It is close to several bars and would be a great place to dine on a Friday or Saturday night before going out. The menu has a lot of seafood, which is my favorite, and the Cabo Enchiladas were the best seafood enchiladas I have had since Cristinas took them off of their menu. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

  • "Just delicious and the service was very good. The freshness and quality of the food makes the flavors more vibrant. The Pacific Ceviche, and the tilapia zarandeada were magnificent."

  • "Fantastic! Perfect combo of traditional yet modern Mexican seafood. A welcome alternative to tex-mex as well as Dallas' over-hyped modern Mexican cuisine. The ceviche and seafood specials are the best. Best octopus in Dallas! And, I've been just about everywhere it's served. Not enough (almost none) of Dallas restaurants serve whole fish. Bravo! Hopefully the octopus and whole fish will become components of the regular menu. Definitely a top spot in Dallas."

  • "The food was good, but not amazing. The service was pretty good, but we were there by 6 and it was much busier when we left."

  • "The crowd was great, the menu was extensive, and the food did not disappoint. Lobster tacos were delish. Cerviche was excellent as well. This was a girl's night and we will definitely be back. Enjoy!"

  • "Just don't get the pork Osso Buco it is NOT like the Italian version. It is chewy and dry with no sauce or flavoring on a bed of beans. Ceviche was great."

  • "Good food, great service. We can't wait to go back. Parking is awful so either arrive early for your reservation or valet."

  • "First time success. The food is not Tex-Mex, it is Mexican. A great change of pace! I had the Chilango Pork Osso-Bucco and my wife ordered the filet. Both were excellently prepared. The beans underlying the Osso-Bucco were a little too salty for my taste but the meat was tender and melted in my mouth. There is a wide variety of tequila's for the tequila lover. The only downside was the screaming child at the next table. Next time we will come later in the evening when the clientele changes to mostly adults. I will try a seafood dish next time. That seems to be their specialty."

  • "The food is always good I love the menu. But it seems that the service is still having issues. We had to wait so long for the drinks that it wasn't even enjoyable. And the server wasn't bothered by the fact that they couldn't get to us, the greeter came over and tried to help with the drinks. I don't think I will go back this seems to happen every time."

  • "Lazaranda was a great Mexican restaurant in North Dallas. The food was very good and the service was outstanding. The menu had both the standard Mexican dishes and some more creative dishes that you dont see everywhere else. We will be back."

  • "The food at Lazaranda is very thoughtful, and quite delicious. It seems to really shine with seafood, but non-seafood items have delighted as well. I have not been for happy hour, but am looking forward to getting back to sample some of the margaritas available...."

  • "The food was amazing. The server told us what she thought was great on the menu and we took her advice and are very thankful we did! The food is spicy which I love. The service was incredible and they make sure you are taken care of in every aspect! I can't wait to go back!"

  • "The entire management of this restaurant takes customer service to another level. They are extremely professional, courteous and acomodating. They went above and beyond to ensure that my group brunch was a success. Arturo our waiter did an exceptional job, fast drinks, amazing food, glasses always full .... Incredible dining expirience!"

  • "The food was great and our waiter Victor was great... he knew menu and made sugestions I had told him I could not eat spicy hot food and so he guided me to better items with any hot sauce on the side"

  • "We had very good time with friends. Thank you. It was our first time."

  • "Good food, service can be unpredictable. Mostly we have good waiters and the ones that aren't are usually gone before we go back. Bar service has also been unpredictable. We've had awful drinks and others have been great. The bar tenders have not liked when we complained in the past and we noticed it in the drinks. I'm always cautious when ordering drinks here. I wish the place was less noisy, but we try to go at off peak times especially with the valet parking there is never parking on Friday and Saturday nights. We drove around this past weekend three times before parking across the street and walking over to the restaurant. We only did because we had a reservation or we would have left and gone elsewhere. This is a problem in Addison!"

  • "Ceviche appetizer was very good, and we shared it. My tortilla soup did not taste right so I sent it back - no questions asked and they took it off my bill. Our entrees were very good - I had the scallops and my husband had one of the chicken dishes."

  • "Refreshing change from the typical Tex-Mex fare. Fried fish on a bed of mashed potatoes appetizer is really good."
    Dined on 11/3/2013
  • "A rather unusual menu although we did enjoy what we ordered. The waiter warned us the Tortilla Soup was not the usual fare and a member of our party still ordered it but was unable to eat it. After leaving we discussed the meal and we all had the same experience. Our meals were tasty but none of them were hot or even very warm which did hinder the experience. We each said we should have sent the meal back but didn't want to make a fuss."

  • "Food and service were both great! We were a party full of picky eaters, and the staff was gracious enough to make certain our food was prepared as ordered and provided our somewhat large party with separate checks at a moments notice. Noise level and was not over-bearing, and the tables were far enough apart that we did not feel crowded even though the restaurant was full. Dishes and wine were very reasonably priced as well. Our group of friends dines out often and we will be going here again."

  • "Had a great business lunch there. Everything tasted friesh, and this was a nice step up from your everyday Tex-Mex. Nice selction of seafood dishes. Server was efficient and not introsive, and place was quiet enough to hold a normal conversation. Loved the interesting salsas served with chips and the key limes and squeezer at our table to season our food. Great touch. Can't wait to return for dinner and drinks."

  • "Looking forward to going back to try all the different ceviches."

  • "Great drinks! I enjoyed my Paloma and my husband had a cucumber mint margarita-very refreshing. The salad I ordered had grilled veggies on it-tasted great! My husband got bacon wrapped shrimp-he enjoyed. This is a modern Mexican food restaurant, so it's not tex mex cheese enchiladas, etc. It seems to be seafood based for the most part. I would request that they have more vegetarian options, as I am vegetarian. Hence the reason for the salad. But, the salad was very good! The flan was great also."
