Lawry's The Prime Rib - Las VegasAmazingI had been to Lawry's but my husband hadn't so I decided to take him for Father's Day. He absolutely loved it. Actually we both did. The service was unrushed and they were there every time we needed them. The food melted in your mouth. We were so full when we left that all we wanted to do was go home and take a nap! A wonderful staff (from the bartender that gave us our first drinks - to the wait staff - to the valet that got us our cab). Fantastic service the way Las Vegas used to be. We have wanted to go to the restaurant since we found out it existed. When we finally got the chance to go, it was so much more than we expected. From the ambience to the waiters being called by their last names, to the waitress uniforms, the serving carts, the "valet only" parking, The fact that we were already having a wonderful vacation anyway, the food itself (definitely placed last on this list by accident)......
And to top it all off, we just happened to show up on the 75th anniversary of the restaurant so we found out 75 fun facts about the restaurant that we didn't know. All of these things made the experience one that we will always cherish. There is a good selection of appetizers--great to share with a group. The famous spinning salad bowl is always fresh & fun to watch the presentation. Hot sourdough bread, too. Next, the cart with the presentation of prime rib & accompanying sides. We love that you can get whatever cut, bone-in or out, carved fresh at your table. Creamed spinach & corn are the sides, get a little of each. The mashed potatoes are home-made & the gravy is perfect. The horseradish comes creamed or "straight". Yorkshire pudding is a not-to-be-missed coming hot out of a copper pan, perfect to soak up the au jus. You sat down and expected to see Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra sitting there as well. They kept things the way it was and Bravo to them! Food is excellent - service even better.
