  • "I love prime rib, so naturally I ordered the biggest one. I was expecting the best prime rib of my life, seeing as this place specializes in prime rib. It was an okay prime rib. The (real) horseradish was the best I have had though. The creamy horseradish was also good. Everything else was just okay though. I ordered my prime rib rare/medium rare, or as they call it rare plus. It was definitely more toward the medium side. My girlfriend ordered the ribeye, it was pretty chard, definitely more so than it should have been. Atmosphere was top notch, service was very friendly (Sargent), not too speedy though but you don't go to a place like this to get out quickly. All and all, I won't be going back unless I hit the lotto."

  • "Lawry's is still doing what it does best: perfect prime rib (forget the salmon, lobster and rib eye). The service is perfect if corny and the cold salad fork presentation must be the last in the world, but it works here. The customer mix is perfect L.A.: all races and everything from shorts to tuxes. On top of all that, the wine list is loaded with great choices and the prices are very reasonable. Can you say Pahlmeyer Napa Red, one of California's best. "

  • "Going to Lawry's is stepping back into the old fashion charm of the 40's, 50's and 60's when folks actually dressed up to go out for dinner (although) there were a few folks who were wearing jeans (even though the restaurant asked folks to dress business casual). The service is wonderful, the food is great and decor is beautiful. It has always been my favorite place to go to when celebrating those very special occasions."

We took 2 newbies for their first visit...overwhelmed them with the Beef Bowl and 24oz Ribeye...they absolutely thought it outstanding and stated they didn't need knives as they could cut through the meat with their forks. Shrimp cocktails and lobster tails were excellent and was the service was as always."

  • "Food was very good. I ordered the Lawry's Cut which was pretty thick. The chef was more than willing to cut it in half for me. Yorkshire pudding was EXCEPTIONAL. The only negative was that there was a 25-30 minute wait for the valet to get the car when we were done. There was a line of folks waiting to leave and it was a bit cold standing out there at night (no heaters)."

  • "This restaurant serves mostly prime rib. It is cut at the table from special carving carts. The bread is also excellent as is the salad. A little pricey, but well worth it. Many families go for holidays and special occasions. The restaurant's staff is great with kids. Our one year old grand-daughter was the "hit" of the evening. This is my wife's favorite restaurant in Los Angeles."

  • "Ihave been going to L,s since the 50's...but it isn,t a place to dine anymore. It has become a tourist attraction where large groupa are ahuttled in, served quickly,and shuttled out. This was, however, the first time the food reflected the hurry attitude, Yorkshire pudding burnt! salad old! meat average. Sorry to see this happen."

  • "This restaurant was recommended by someone my girlfriend and I just met. First things first, after so many experiences of bad customer service this restaurant had the best. Every one that waited on us was excellent, our waiter was too (can't remember her name but she was a young Asian girl). Honestly, the atmosphere gave me plantation, from the paintings to the gear the waiters wear. The scalloped potatoes were amazing! The prime rib is good but they don't season it much because they want you to use the Lawrys seasoning at the table. After you put the season on there it's good. The cream spinach is tasty too! I recommend this place to anyone good food and great customer service!"

They have an extensive wine list so we ordered a bottle of White Zinfandel for the table, we took advantage of the April specials, as always the food was excellent for each of us, every aspect of the service provided by staff was exceptional. Wait staff and table service is courteous and attentive. We dined on Prime Rib and it was perfect. I would come for just the salad and bread. Tried scalloped potatoes and bernaise sauce as a compliment. Both were delicious."

I started to take him to dinner there after we get his taxes done. You should have a finished your taxes special. I Enjoyed being able to try a flight of wines with dinner. I would like option of steamed vegetables. The food is very rich."

  • "I have dined here for years. On April 3rd, 2014, in addition to the food being perfect, the attention of our waiter went beyond the high standard we were expecting. I asked for blue cheese olives in my martini, and although I knew that was not a staple from the bar, I got blue cheese olives in my martini. The services was timely without being rushed. Our waiter was attentive without being disruptive. The bread was hot, the salad cold and crisp and the prime rib perfectly prepared and served with excellent side dishes (creamed spinach and creamed corn). Dessert (trifle) was very good and neatly served for once. We'll be back soon."

  • "I took my girlfriend here on her birthday recently. We were blown away right from when we arrived at the restaurant -- there is a classy, hotel-like vibe to the entraceway and we knew we were in for a night full of pampering (a good thing once in a while). Our reservation saved us some time in the waiting area (which had delicious peanut-oil chips) and we were quickly and ceremoniously escorted to our table like royalty. Our waitress was fantastic and the restaurant greeted us upon hearing that it was our first time visiting the restaurant. Most importantly, the food was delicious (we both got the Lawry's Cut) and to top it off, a birthday cake slice for the birthday girl on the house. Thanks for a great time and a solid night, Lawry's."

  • "Excellent dining restaurant. Meets all the requirements, bar, ambiance, service and especially the food. There were 7 of us celebrating my son's 52nd Birthday. We all ordered the Lawry Prime Rib Cut with mashed potatoes and gravy and we each had different vegetables, and, it even came with a salad. The service was as outstanding as the meal itself. Our waitress has worked there for some +25 years and she impressed us with not only her personality but her serving skills. She can pour a glass of wine from 3 feet straight up and not leave a drop outside of the glass!!!! This is one of our favorite restaurants and we will continue to go there for as long as the Restaurant is there which we hope is a long, long, time!"

  • "Carver's cart was dirty, large pieces of food crumbs, gravy dried and messy on the cart.. Was not a pleasant sight considering the beautiful environment. Food maintains consistency! Our Miss was tired, gave an impression that another table being sat in her area will be a drag and a long night..unfortunately."
