Beef carpaccio was drowned in dressing and the lobster pizza was so salty it was not edible. I can never understand why a restaurant ruins great food with too much salt, dressing and seasoning.

The menu was extensive, with so many great choices. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and made good suggestions. The Maine lobster cocktail was the best ever. Veal Parm was outstanding. Our waiter recommended a dessert that was fantastic. An outstanding dinner experience.

We had reservations for brunch, and after waiting 15-20 minutes for a table anyway, we finally were seated. The service was a little slow at the beginning as well but the food and our server's refreshing attitude was enough to make up for it. Fantastic breakfast pizza.

Lavo is a trendy hot spot on the Las Vegas strip. Great place for appetizers and drinks. Can't say the same about any of the main dishes. Take my advice - do not order any of the pasta dishes. The pizza and meat plates are average at best but the pasta is really disappointing. You don't need to be a true Italian to tell just how bad the sauce is. Like I said, stick to appetizers and drinks.

I made a reservation for 8:30pm, when my group got there we were told it would be a little while and were given a pager. 45 mins later after making friends in a similar situation at the bar, we were seated. The waiter took 15 minutes to take our app order and another 30 mins to take our dinner order. The food arrived 45 mins later and by then we weren't even hungry. We were there for over 3 hours. Not happy AT ALL.

    - Crowded restaurant so we made a reservation ahead of time for 8:30pm; after haunting the host/hostess we finally sat down at 9:15pm, 60-minutes after our arrival. At no point was it communicated how long of a wait it would be; even when we arrived we were told our table would be ready "shortly" - Horribly distracting enviroment where the music is WAY too loud in the dining area (the lounge area I would expect/be okay with loud music, but not while dining). Also, the staff is RUNNING around like maniacs, lifting chairs, running with drinks...it was just not a good experience - Tasty food but very overpriced; the drinks were great and a good size and the garlic bread was AWESOME (I've heard if you want more bread, you have to pay for it)

This is our 3rd time to visit Lavo. It's a must for us when we are in Las Vegas. The food is very fresh and world class deliciousness. What always makes the experience even more special is their live resident DJ Vixen. She spins the most amazing house music soundtrack as you dine on a delicious meal. After we are through eating we always go sit in the bar area just to continue the experience. The sound system is awesome and it's amazing how well placed the speakers are b/c it's festively loud yet you can still carry a perfect conversation. Genius! Vegas at it's finest. Love it.

When you go to a restaurant that offers such great steaks, its always good to remember it IS an Italian restaurant and their pasta selections are most likely above and beyond any basic pasta you get at a regular Italian restaurant. Lavo's spaghetti and meatball dish was out of this world, as was their Ricotta Cavatelli- AMAZING Bolognese sauce. I'd know, as I usually try the bolognese at all the "fancy" Italian restaurants. DELICIOUS! Forget the steaks and try the pastas!

We switched our booking last minute from Postrio to Lavo, just given the weather was so nice and we wanted to dine outside. The food quality varied, my dish (the pizza) was watery and a bit undercooked. The two pasta dishes were overcooked and the vodka sauce a bit bland. On the upside, someone there does know how to cook scallops correctly. The clincher, and the reason we will never go back was the non-existent service. We got attitude when asking for drink refills and overall our table was pretty much abandoned. Whenever we receive poor service, we end up tipping poorly which personally is really painful to do.

Dined on Tuesday Aug 12/14. Kobe meatballs FABULOUS!! The appetizer is one huge round meatball. Easily shared with 4 people. Scallops yummy. The share appy of salami & fromage (cheese) served on wooden platter great to share for 4. Side of asparagus done just right. Chicken parmigano was alright, but presentation was boring. Tomato sauce served with bread & spaghetti excellent. Beautiful ambience. Wine list impressive. This is my 2nd time & I would return again.

Overall the food and service was very good. However, I HAD to comment on the fact that they charge for soda refills, which is absolutely ridiculous. I think it's rude and insulting to the customer, especially because the glasses to start are relatively small. It was just obnoxious. I hope they fix that. It just turned us off during our dining.

We arrived on time for our reservation, but two of our party of four were running late. The two of us that had arrived were told that we couldn't be seated until our entire party was there. We knew they would be late and may even cancel. We decided to sit at the bar (and spend more than we would have) and wait for the other two. They finally showed and we had our dinner. I HATE this practice and will likely not go back to Lavo.

My friends and I randomly chose Lavo out of all the other Italian restaurants at the Venetian. It was a perfect choice for our last night in Vegas. Lavo did not disappoint at all. The food was delicious!! The prices are decent for a restaurant right on the Strip and the portions are very generous!! I had the seafood salad to start...it was $21 and was packed with shrimp and lobster. Unbelievable for the price! The chicken parm was the size of the plate....so good! I couldn't finish it all!! When you go, do not walk through the Venetian to get there...the walk is forever!! Instead, walk outside on the Strip. The entrance to the restaurant is directly across the street from Treasure Island. Enjoy!

we arrived for dinner at 5pm as you opened. we had a nice young lady named sarah as our server. service started out very well till we realized she was the cocktail watress not a regular server. the bar area got real busy real fast and we were left in the dust. she was doing the best she could but it was not fair to her or us to be put in to that kind of situation. someone should of helped her out on her tables she was juggling, also it would of been helpful to know how large your portions were as we ordered way to much as we could of shared some dishes. very disappointed to have to waste as much as we did at those prices.

Despite having OT reservations and there being empty tables, we still had to wait 15 mins for our table - not really sure why. Service otherwise, was friendly and attentive - a mad scramble to move around patio umbrellas when it started to rain in the desert. Not an everyday occurence, handled with grace. Food portions are fairly large so it makes the standard Vegas hotel strip pricing less painful. Marinara sauce is spot on and garlicy, pasta was cooked al dente. They can be a bit heavy on the salt, as I have experienced multiple times in the past across a variety of dishes. Perhaps forwarn them when you order, if you are sensitive to salt. All in all, a good spot with an awesome view of TI and Mirage.

We started out very hopeful as this place was highly reviewed. We had the giant meatball appetizer and calamari - both of which were EXCELLENT and delicious, so we were really looking forward to our entrees. Unfortunately, all dishes were so highly salted, they were difficult to eat. Penne ala Vodka, eggplant and mixed seafood with pasta, all very, very salty. Ruined what would have been a very, very nice dinner in a lovely setting. We didn't have a chance to send it back because our waiter didn't check back until we had nearly finished, surprising because otherwise, the service before the entrees was really good. At those prices and the beautiful ambiance of the place, I was really expecting something better. :-(
