  • "We had wonderful meal in the patio area. Nice music and very good food and service."

  • "Very good restaurant. Very good food. But, the service has become a production line of an order taker and then everything from that point on is a production line service from hordes of Latin Americans. What ever happened to attentive and quality service? Are tips still expected when service is more like fast food?"

  • "Lavender Bistro has a beautiful patio setting. I think that I would prefer cocktails and small plates rather than dinner which was uninspired."

  • "for a delicious anf fun evening. When we are in town we try to go at least once a week -- definitely our favorite plae in LaQuinta. The patio is beautiful and the food is always very good. Servers are good -- we especially favor Nicole. Last week we went to their Happy Hour for the first time -- absolutely fantastic!"

  • "Love the outside dining. I had the Chilean Sea Bass which I would highly recommend."

  • "Lavender Bistro is one of our favorites and have been there many times. However, they really had a bad night when we took guests there. The food wasn't up to what we are used to, my flatiron steak was really tough and my iceberg wedge was bitter and they gave me the core which isn't very good. The bad part was the service, our wait person was terrible. We don't like to rush through dinner but the wait we had was inexcusable. I hope Lavender gets back on track again as it is usually a good restaurant."

  • "We had another wonderful experience @ Lavender while entertaining two couples who were visiting. Excellent entrees,;attentive, but somewhat slow service due to the busy conditions and wonderful atmosphere added to our enjoyment. Lavender is our favorite and we love to share this excellent place with others."

  • "We arrived late for our table, but did call ahead, and expected to see lots of open tables since it was already 8:30 on a Monday. The place was jammed and hopping! We were seated promptly, and each of the 4 of us had very tasty fish dishes. Service was good, and there were still people coming in when we left."

  • "Lavender is one of the best restaurants in the Coachella Valley. There are so many to choose from. Ask for a table on the patio. The ambiance is terrific."

  • "We were celebrating a birthday and thought we had a table reserved outside which is the only place to eat at this restaurant. The hostess was not nice, told us our table was inside - this was at 5:30pm right when they opened. We opted to eat in the bar. When we left there were many open tables outside and they could've easily sat us outside but didn't . They were not very nice about it either. I won't go back"

  • "Our go-to place in the desert. Never had a bad experience in 5 years!"
    Dined on 4/2/2014
  • "The menu is broad and the presentation is beautiful. I had the salmon and it was delicious; cooked just right. However the wedge salad had no blue cheese crumbles and the crab fritters had very little crab taste. The ambiance is nice, but pretty noisy. There are other restaurants with all the good features of Lavendar Bistro, but cheaper"

  • "What extraordinary ambience, and breathtaking patio sans the normal desert palm trees. And what exquisite service by the waiter and bus boy...If only that could be matched by the quality of the food. Lavender feels at first blush like you will experience a top notch, Napa-esque French meal. Lavender certainly looks the part. Alas, much to my astonishment, the food was mediocre at best. I could not help but feel duped. Clearly you cannot judge this book by its cover. There are several much better restaurants nearby, some very nearby, in fact. Nice try, Lavender. Your acting would make Lawrence Olivier proud. I left your restaurant wanting and expecting more. The Oscar goes to Palmer's."

  • "The lobster salad was one of the best appetizers we've ever had. The strip steak was prepared perfectly."

  • "We had a group of ten. Everyone or did something different and all of us enjoyed our meal. We would all come back!"

  • "We really enjoyed the ambiance and the great food! The half price wine on Tuesdays is a great perk for customers!! Our guests enjoyed the dining experience and will return another time! Thx"

  • "To celebrate our recent wedding, we went to Lavender, just walking thru the courtyard and basking in the brilliant display of lavender napkins, set our expectations. My favorite seafood is scallops and they were prepared delicately as they should be. Our waiter , Adam, was enthusiastic and menu knowledgeable. We will go back."

  • "The term bistro would imply a small intimate restaurant. This place is huge. Food was good, service OK and prices, for the most part were fair except for drinks. $11 gin and tonic for example. Quite a formal atmosphere as well. We also had dueling bands from the bar and outside. Don't plan on staying late and lingering as we were the last ones out at 10PM on a Saturday night! Might be a reflection of the area though....."

  • "Dining at Lavender Bistro was a very nice dining experience. I went with my boyfriend and it was very romantic and everyone there seemed very nice and the staff is super polite and welcoming! The food is pricey but it's well worth it! The presentation of the main courses are beautiful and the food tastes delicious, just as good as it looks, in fact! I'd like to return in the future and fine there once more :)"

  • "This is a charming place with wonderful food and excellent service. What else is there? They have the best raw oysters with horseradish sauce when they are in season. You could feast just on their appetizers but their dinner menu is also a good one. We'll always go back."

  • "House salad was tasteless and utterly boring. Chicken paillard was neither thin nor crisp. Mussels seemed totally devoid of seasoning. Overall underwhelming!"

  • "What a beautiful restaurant! We sat outside in the garden...sparking lights in the trees...tables set beautifully with Lavender napkins popping out from the wine glasses...very elegant and inviting. The food was perfection, from start to finish. If you're in the area, don't miss dinner at this gem."

  • "Once you are past the grumpy redheaded hostess you've got it made. Excellent on everything!!!! The atmosphere, the food, the service, everything was superb. The people watching is also really good. Don't sit too close to the music."

  • "The restaurant was refreshing. Excellent outdoor dining. The patio is a must. Food was very good with a nice variety of dishes. The waiter might have had one too many tables, but not real noticeable . Would recommend to all diners. Prices are moderate ,"

  • "A friend of the owner of Lavender Bistro suggested the restaurant. An Open Table reservation for four was made about 1 ½ to 2 hours in advance. A patio table was requested, although not guaranteed. Upon arrival, the Hostess could not find the reservation, although we had received confirmation. The large patio had many tables available, but we were informed that it was fully booked. We were seated at an interior table overlooking the patio. For the full duration of our stay, there were at least 5 tables for 4 on the patio unoccupied. We felt that the Hostess did not believe that we had a reservation for the evening. We enjoyed our evening and the food was very good, but we were most disappointed with our treatment."

  • "I registered and called in several times to make sure we would be seated in a romantic table since it was my wife's birthday. I was told it would happen. Well it didn't! Our table was terrible! It was on the edge of the patio and located in the high traffic area. We were very dissatisfied."

  • "This was a great experience and a wonderful surprise! A little more pricey so be prepared however the food is excellent and worth the extra. Wonderful service fabulous ambience, one of the nicest patio experiences we have ever had. Wine is very pricey so be aware of that. Special deals for no corkage fee on a specific night of the week. All in all well worth a try."

  • "but otherwise the salad was the freshest creation I have had in some time and all of our group said the same. Very good food!"

  • "Lavender Bistro is nothing to look at from the outside but don't be put off. The gardens are extremely charming with tables under trees decorated with lights and some in large booths around the perimeter. The tables are beautifully decorated in the theme of lavender. Being in the open the noise level is extremely low and with our warm nights now very comfortable. In the winter they have heaters. The food is really delicious with just the right amount of choices so the kitchen is not stressed beyond the highest standards. Whenever we entertain guests from out of town and wish to impress, Lavender Bistro is out choice."

  • "We had a group of 8, and they were very accommodating to us. We all ordered different items, but everyone in the group enjoyed their choices. One of our group brought bottles of champagne, and they were fine with that, charged corkage of $20 per bottle. They sat us at a round table, which is always better for a group to be able to talk. We enjoyed the experience! This was my second time there, and I will return again."

  • "First time for this restaurant but we heard nothing but good things about it and we weren't disappointed. It has a gorgeous outside dining area which is lit up with trees filled with white lights. These compliment the white tablecloths and lavender napkins. The food was impressive and there was lots of variety on the menu for everyone's dining choices. The crispy duck was excellent and the lamb superb. After a brief tour through the property found it to be quite extensive on the inside as well. We had a musician playing music, it was a Saturday so not sure if he is there all the time. Overall an excellent find ."

  • "Great food and service, Could not be seated outside because of two large parties. There us a huge decline in ambience inside compared to the lovely outdoor dining area."

  • "The food and atmosphere were outstanding. We also had the same waiter we'd had previously and he was great server. The complimentary dessert was a nice touch for our celebration."

  • "The tables on the patio were so crammed together that the waiters could not move. we sat too close to the piano player we had to shout. Food was good, not great. Didn't live up to expectations."

  • "A very nice restaurant. Food is well prepared and tasty. Outdoor patio is large but very popular, so asking for it in advance is essential. Using the customary references for "value for money", Lavender doesn't. quite make the grade. It is a bit pricey, so plan accordingly. Still, a fine place for a special occasion."
