  • "We thought the food and service were excellent. We were glad that we made our reservation early and had asked for a table away from the center of the room - we were on the porch and the ambiance there was lovely. I would not have enjoyed being in the main room where the noise was very loud. Also the women's room was terrible - two stalls in this large restaurant and bar for women (one of these was unisex) and one ran out of toilet paper at 8 PM! I would recommend this restaurant but think they need to improve their service to the women in the place! Thanks."

  • "Small, but rotating craft beer draught list. Nice selection of bottles as well. Locally sourced food with an organic focus. Restaurant has a nice quiet dining area suitable for romantic occasions. Also has a lively bar scene on the weekends as well with local troubadours. The food was always great and I was happy to see when they did add taps, they brought in craft brews to match their menu. They have duck on the menu which is not something seen at many places. My only issue is the steaks, not because they don't always have the same cuts, but because the prep is nothing special. If you want steak, this is not your place, but if you want nicely prepared local dishes, you will not be disappointed."

I'd recommend it for lunch and brunch though the dinner menu looks appetizing as well. Sherif the owner can be found waiting tables and speaking with guests. This restaurant also supports local charities like DIning Out For Life."

  • "This was our first time at Laurrapin Grille. It was a very, very nice evening. The food was outstanding, the service was above average, and we enjoyed the ambiance. The only thing that was disappointing was the noise level. We had to raise our voices to have a normal conversation. Other than that, we are definitely going back again!"

  • "This place uses local beef, pork and lamb. Also local produce. If you want fresh local ingredients, this is the place. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the salad was full of stems. Our waitress spotted this and checked with the chef and found out there was a new kid on salads. She came back and offered to take it off the bill without us even saying anything. That is service! Lobster / corn cake appetizer could use some work on presentation and the BBQ sauce really overpowers it. Loved the chop!"

  • "This was out first time here. I had the special, which was Rockfish with asparagus over sweet potato and ham hash...it was DELICIOUS! I also loved the white bean spread that came with the bread. The only negative thing I can say is that it was very noisy and hard to hear each other at our dinner table. Our server was also excellent! Unfortunately I don't remember her name."

  • "We tried Laurrapin on a walk through historic Havre de Grace many years ago in their infancy and fell in love with her. We've been fans ever since and NEVER had a bad experience (although as others discovered her the waits became longer so planning is now mandatory via reservations) she's quirky, classy and sometimes sassy. Great wines and beers and very cool hangout for music. The menu stays fresh (we miss that exceptional meatloaf) and is founded on local organic product. She has evolved and is part of the reason the town is starting to thrive again. Regardless of a need for bar snack or a gourmet meal you can get it all here. Go here if you are perched on the edge of choosing, just go!"

It more than lived up to its billing with unique and yummy food and drink. I needed extra time to read just the drink menu and make my choices. Food was abundant and delicious.   • "Havre de Grace is a good half-way point for us to meet with friends from Delaware so we decided to visit Laurrapin Grille. Our decision was based on other reviews from Open Table and Trip Advisor. The restaurant did not disappoint. Our server was prompt, helpful, and always available when needed. We were never rushed and actually encouraged to stay and enjoy after lunch conversation with our friends. And the food was excellent! The salmon wrap, the lamb burger (perfectly cooked and not underdone), and falafel meals for lunch were perfect choices. We also enjoyed the cheese plate and sweet potato fries as appetizers. The Grille offers an excellent range of beers as well. We will be back in the future."

Our meat eater friends love it too with their good selection of seafood and more terrestrial choices. The Wednesday night specials for this week were very good and there were good choices on the menu. The place is quiet so having a conversation at your table is quiet easy, especially for us older folk. I would recommend Laurrapin to anyone that enjoys good food, pleasant surroundings, and a great dining experience."

The food was not good at all we were rushed by our waiter because the hostess could not walk 20 feet to get us when our table was ready, and then made a very rude remark. Maybe you should get buzzers like bone fish?? I have been to the Laurrapin Grille in the past but, doubt they will ever get my business again. I have raved about this place to people in the past and will no longer do so. I understand it was Valentines Day but, in no way were they over crowded at the time we were there.   • "My wife and I frequent the Laurrapin Grill about once a month. The food has always been delicious, the service prompt and friendly and the live music all contribute to a very enjoyable evening. I wasn't sure how the dining experience would be on one of the busiest dinner nights of the year, but we were seated at our reserved time, the food, we chose from the evening specials menu, was delicious, the service prompt and friendly, no live music, but again a very enjoyable evening. If you haven't been here before, go, it's worth the trip no matter what night you stop in."

  • "I love this place, because they go out of their way to serve healthy meat products with no hormones ect. Also they buy produce and dairy locally. The scallops are yummy so is the salmon. ( I do not usually care for salmon, but their maple ? Salmon was excellent ) the filet mignon is beyond compare. We usually get one dessert and a fork for everyone. And pass the plate. The baked banana is our fave. My primary residence is Florida, I come to Maryland to be with my family for the holidays... I can not get enough of the Laurrapin. Our favorite waiter is Keith....they are all good, our family just took a liking to him because he is very knowledgeable about all the food and drinks."

  • "I took a date to this restaurant, and she was very impressed, as was I. Our server was very helpful in giving us options from the menu, and she was knowledgeable about the farms that the restaurant sources their produce from. We tried an appetizer, drinks, entrees, and desserts, and everything was delicious. The noise level was a bit high, but we were there on a Saturday, and there were some large groups there as well. Having said that, we were still able to carry on a conversation comfortably. I would definitely recommend this place, for the food and the ambiance. Try the lamb shank, it's their most popular entree. And if you manage to get a seat near the kitchen, it's nice to see all the great food coming out."

  • "The high top table lighting is spotty. I've been patronizing the bar and restaurant for seven to eight years now, and it has amazingly.... not changed. You are either in a normal cozy lighted seat or under a spot light. Two couples complained while we were eating and the lights were adjusted twice. No one uses the halogen track light system any more. they are hot to touch, extremely bright and expensive to operate. The crab cakes are too small, moist and with small meat pieces to stand by themselves. Better suited for a sandwich or crackers. Tasted great though, just too soggy for my liking. Not complaining about the food at all, just a little FYI. The lighting situation is an enigma how that issue hasn't been fixed. "MOOD LIGHTING" works"

  • "Mixed feelings from our group of 6. The wine and beer list is great, and our drinks were very good. Deserts were delicious. Pizza was terrible - extremely overcooked. I did not enjoy like the seasoning of my main course. One in our party got a deceivingly small portion. Wait staff passed out food/drinks to the wrong people and seemed generally empathetic. We enjoyed the ambiance of the place but the food and service did not live up to my expectations, especially considering the price. We had a fun time at the restaurant but do not plan to return."
