  • "Amazing place! Excellent food and service! Really enjoyed our different dishes. Sat in the very back room with glass looking at bay and watched a storm roll through. It was quite enough for excellent conversation."

  • "Great place for dinner. The appetizer we shared was large and varied (hummus plate). We all had the Moroccan Beef at the suggestion of the waitress and enjoyed the meal. Will have to return to try her other suggestions."

  • "Crab cake was disappointing. I get much better crab cakes at the Eagle Hotel in Harrisburg, PA. The blackened shrimp were overcooked and hard."

  • "The food was very well prepared. Rib eye steak was outstanding, as well all of the sides, also, outstanding salads. My wife and I are fans of the Chef, Christine. She develops dishes that are well thought out, inventive, with fresh ideas that are well executed. I think she is a chef that will develop a loyal group of followers. Each time we have visited the Laurrapin Grille we have also found great servers (Alex?) that are friendly and know there business. A pleasure to deal with."

  • "We searched for a nice restaurant to take my husband's mother for Mother's Day. We'd heard so much about the Laurrapin Grille and were thrilled when we were able to book a table. We were immediately disappointed to be seated in a dark corner immediately adjacent to a noisy family whose children were running about, and dropping their food everywhere they went. More than once the kids stopped to greet us and inquire about the food we were eating. Their parents were mostly ignoring them (presumably so that the mother could enjoy "her day" in peace at the complete expense of our own). The food was fine, but not worthy of the high price tag. Service was infrequent and a tad arrogant. The experience was so not what we were expecting."

  • "We were met and seated right away. It was our first visit and had out of town guests with us, so it was nice to be seated at the window with a water view. The waiter came promptly and told us about the menu and took the drink order. I had a pear salad and the glazed Salmon, both of which were delicious. My husband had cream of crab soup and steak. The soup was very good, but the steak was only okay. One of the guests had the Rockfish, which was excellent and his wife had a salad and crabcake dinner. The salad was fine, but the crabcake was small and most definitely not lumb crabmeat and I'm not sure it was even backfin. We'll likely give the restaurant a second chance, because the good food was very good, as was the service."

  • "We had a guest from out of town and had heard that Laurrapin was a good place to go. We went on a Tuesday, Steak and Wine Night. The place was packed; good thing we had reservations. It was so loud that we had trouble conversing; they need to put up some sort of noise baffles. Service was fair at best, possibly due to the large crowd. We waited a long while for our cocktails, which arrived with our salads. I prefer to finish my cocktail before starting dinner. The bottle of wine, which was excellent and half-price, didn't arrive until we were half-way done with our steaks, which were also excellent. "

  • "I took my wife to Laurrapin for her birthday. We know Laurrapin from our CSA with Flying Plow Farms. Very Good Food, Nice place, even got a table with a water view. Wine list needs some work to be local but Tuesday Steak Night was great and 1/2 price wine was a winner. Waitress service was poor. Server was knowledgeable of menu and certainly sold the upcoming restaurant events with enthusiasm. We will visit again, but ask for a different server."

  • "a flawless evening service was wonderful except for main course arriving before we had finished salads but they did take it back till we were finished and had sat a while. no sense of rush no sense of food being over cooked or reheated even coffee at tend of meal was perfect. best dinig experience in a while from here up to Newark"

  • "I was pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant in Harve de Grace, which is not known for fine dining:) The one issue I had with Laurrapin Grille is the size of the portions. I thought them very small for the price. Not that I'm complaining about the price which was a advertised on Open Table, so no surprises there. However, if you depend on the entree you will leave there hungry. I'm not a big guys with a humongous appetite and I was still disappointed. For portion size I give 1.5 stars. All other categories I give 3 to 3.5 stars."

  • "My wife, daughter and I spent the weekend in Bel Air, Md at my daughters lacrosse tournament. We wanted to get away from the strip centers to explore the upper Chesapeake area and have a good Maryland meal. We found Laurrapin Grill in Havre de Grace, Md. We walked around town for a bit before going to the restaurant. Upon arrival for dining, we were promptly seated by a pleasant hostess and then greeted by our helpful waiter. The food was first rate. We dined on Rockfish and soft shell crabs. The food is locally sourced and apparently they grow their own vegetables. I would definitely make the one hour drive from Philly to go again. "

  • "we had a very nice gourmet meal while the kids near us enjoyed their pasta and fries and the folks in our b & b had had laurapin cater their wedding reception to great success. so everyone was pleased with their food.... "

  • "Excellent restaurant for people looking for a slightly better dining experience. I really enjoyed that their food comes from local farms and producers. You can really taste the fresh ingredients in their food. Bold and delicious flavors. I tasted a bit of each of my party's dishes and everything was amazing. Quinoa cakes were like nothing I've tasted before. The lamb shank is second to none. great unique atmosphere and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Only downsides is the wait is kinda long - I made reservations (at 9) and still had to wait another 15 min. When there is live music, it gets kinda noisy. Would definitely recommend to friends looking for a fantastic dining experience!"

  • "I took my mom for Mothers day thinking she would be able to experience your famous hamburgers, but it was a lite fair menu. I was not told at time of reservation this was a lite fair. We were still satisfied with the lite fair and it was very good. I will take her back on another occasion to try your hamburger. Service was amazing...... Thank You...."

  • "We have been to Laurrapin Grille several times and it's our favorite place by far! The only thing I would 'ding' them on is the hit or miss service. Our party had four people. We waited awhile for drinks and our appetizers came out with our dinner. The server was very polite and friendly, and had a good command of the menu items. I get the impression the food coming out all together was not something she could control. We have gone at times and gotten excellent service. The food has always been outstanding. "

  • "This is a good central meeting place as we met friends from the Philadelphia area as we live in the Baltimore area for a 3rd time. The food is consistently very good and they use a lot of local farms to get their ingredients. The wine and beer selection is quite large and the food is quite good although the noise level in the dining area can be a bit much so you might have to talk loud to hear one another with tables close together. "

  • "Making our reservation we requested an easy-access table, eventually reasonably accomodated. We did not realize that a 1st-Friday monthly street celebration was scheduled in Havre de Grace, and no restaurant personnal informed us that due to the scheduled celebration there would not be easy-access to street parking (specified by restaurant) nor easy-access to restaurant entry. The restaurant and its bar were packed, so we had to wait substantially-past our reservation-time. Ultimately food was fine, but waitress service was unhelpful regarding menu/options, and multiply-delayed. Finally, restaurant egress was intentionally-blocked by an inebriated patron loudly shouting threats and exhibiting threatening behavior, eventually Police-quelled."

  • "Six friends reuniting for lunch and an afternoon in Havre De Grace started it off very nicely for lunch in the back room of the Laurrapin Grille. We all had good food and good drinks. Definitely will go again and recommend to others."

  • "Loved our dining experience at the Laurrapin Grille on Easter Sunday for the Easter brunch buffet. The food selection, food quality and attentive staff were wonderful. We definitely intend to make another visit to this gem of a find and making our day trip from York PA, well worth the visit. Thanks guys!"

  • "We thought the food and service were excellent. We were glad that we made our reservation early and had asked for a table away from the center of the room - we were on the porch and the ambiance there was lovely. I would not have enjoyed being in the main room where the noise was very loud. Also the women's room was terrible - two stalls in this large restaurant and bar for women (one of these was unisex) and one ran out of toilet paper at 8 PM! I would recommend this restaurant but think they need to improve their service to the women in the place! Thanks."

  • "Small, but rotating craft beer draught list. Nice selection of bottles as well. Locally sourced food with an organic focus. Restaurant has a nice quiet dining area suitable for romantic occasions. Also has a lively bar scene on the weekends as well with local troubadours. The food was always great and I was happy to see when they did add taps, they brought in craft brews to match their menu. They have duck on the menu which is not something seen at many places. My only issue is the steaks, not because they don't always have the same cuts, but because the prep is nothing special. If you want steak, this is not your place, but if you want nicely prepared local dishes, you will not be disappointed."

  • "Larrapin has fine food and good service (though I know some reveries say it is poor). The food was varied fresh tasty and wonderfully prepared. I'd recommend it for lunch and brunch though the dinner menu looks appetizing as well. Sherif the owner can be found waiting tables and speaking with guests. This restaurant also supports local charities like DIning Out For Life."

  • "We decided to take a ride to Havre de Grace on a nice Sunday afternoon. Laurrapin was a great find with exceptional food. It made for a pleasant day a bit away from Baltimore. It took less than 1 hour from our home in Baltimore."

  • "This was our first time at Laurrapin Grille. It was a very, very nice evening. The food was outstanding, the service was above average, and we enjoyed the ambiance. The only thing that was disappointing was the noise level. We had to raise our voices to have a normal conversation. Other than that, we are definitely going back again!"

  • "This place uses local beef, pork and lamb. Also local produce. If you want fresh local ingredients, this is the place. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the salad was full of stems. Our waitress spotted this and checked with the chef and found out there was a new kid on salads. She came back and offered to take it off the bill without us even saying anything. That is service! Lobster / corn cake appetizer could use some work on presentation and the BBQ sauce really overpowers it. Loved the chop!"

  • "Very good food. Soups were excellent, full of fish and veggies. A meal in itself. Shrimp-crab wrap and brisket sandwich great flavor. We felt like we were cut off from the flow being in the back room..almost forgotten. Could have been a better experience. Wine list was so so."

  • "This was out first time here. I had the special, which was Rockfish with asparagus over sweet potato and ham hash...it was DELICIOUS! I also loved the white bean spread that came with the bread. The only negative thing I can say is that it was very noisy and hard to hear each other at our dinner table. Our server was also excellent! Unfortunately I don't remember her name."

  • "The food here is great! They try to get most of their foods/meat locally. Went on a Saturday night and service was a little slow, but maybe on a weeknight it would be better. Friendly server even if service at slower pace. I would highly recommend going here if you are a foodie!"

  • "We tried Laurrapin on a walk through historic Havre de Grace many years ago in their infancy and fell in love with her. We've been fans ever since and NEVER had a bad experience (although as others discovered her the waits became longer so planning is now mandatory via reservations) she's quirky, classy and sometimes sassy. Great wines and beers and very cool hangout for music. The menu stays fresh (we miss that exceptional meatloaf) and is founded on local organic product. She has evolved and is part of the reason the town is starting to thrive again. Regardless of a need for bar snack or a gourmet meal you can get it all here. Go here if you are perched on the edge of choosing, just go!"

  • "Friends from Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania met "half way" at this gem in Havre de Grace on a Friday night. Who knew? We had reservations, which I strongly recommend. It more than lived up to its billing with unique and yummy food and drink. I needed extra time to read just the drink menu and make my choices. Food was abundant and delicious. I could wax poetic on the details, but it seems unnecessary. It was a packed, popular place that well-earned its patronage. Delicious and unique food with great service,"
