Laurenzo's RestaurantGreat Prime Rib!After hearing so much about the prime rib at this restaurant, I finally gave a try. It lived up to all the good things I heard about it. The rib was cooked to perfection and the staff did a good job. I liked the layout and the noise level. We met a young lady who told she was the assistant manager, I think her name may have Jennifer. That was pretty much spot on. The food was excellent, but the service not so much. My husband had the prime rib-Texas cut (very thick-an excellent choice), and I had blackened fish Pontchartrain (also excellent). For dessert, Key Lime pie (not the best I've had). We felt pretty ignored by our waiter, as he walked by again and again. Would I go back? Our waiter Enrique was incredible. He understood that we didn't want to be rushed, that we wanted to try different foods and provided us with a dining experience that was just what we were looking for. Half price bottles of wine on Monday was a treat. We had appetizers, followed by ribs and fries as a 2nd course, followed by prime rib as a third course...all brought out one by one. We split between four and would have ordered a third entree, but with the wonderful bread and sides, we were too full. Not too full to order a dessert which was easily shared by all four of us as well. The manager Jennifer came by and checked on us. But staff (Candace, et al) were on top of things as usual, the kitchen was at the top of their game, and all was well. I changed from my usual prime rib and tried fish and chips (beer batter) and it was very good. We tried the pumpkin bread pudding and while it was good, I still like the Italian Cream cake better. The guacamole was excellent and was served with a salsa with some kick. My Ponchatrain fish was a large portion of very good seafood served with perfectly done asparagus. My wife's fillet was among the best she's had. The warm brownie and ice cream was a most scrumptious desert. The food is consistent (I've had the shrimp and grits several times, and it is always the same amazing dish), and the service is impeccable. We've never had a server who wasn't completely on top of things throughout our entire meal. (However, we do have a favorite in Constance.)
