  • "Beautiful people, good food, gorgeous patio, fun and creative décor..."

  • "Great lollipop sprouts! And great server. Sad I can't recall the name but she was blonde and British! The place is just too dim!"

  • "It used to be an neighborhood hardware store and they've kept the sign, but the inside is a happening bar and dining scene. Very friendly wait staff, great service, no attitude. I will definitely go again."

  • "I loved this restaurant so much I went back a second time during my stay. The food is so good and the atmosphere was buzzing. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly especially Ed. I would highly recommend this restaurant and the Gangster cocktails are delicious."

  • "Laurel Hardware is great , a lot of fun to go to and brunch last Sunday was scrumptious ! Our server Luke was out to please , and very nice to interact with . It has all the god " stuff " here !"

  • "The food met and exceeded our expectations! Local, healthy and DELICIOUS, my three favorite things. I would have preferred sitting outside in their beautifully lit garden. Inside is very loud, fun, but loud. Great people watching too."

  • "Wow what a great place and the space is fantastic - love the patio and overall decor - food was great along with the service - great people watching"

  • "I took my girlfriend and her besties out for her birthday. We live in the area, and walk by Laurel constantly. I thought I would surprise her as we don't do fancy dining a lot. The place was amazing. The friendliness of the servers was spectacular, and the food was outstanding. My only (small) problem was that their really aren't tables for private seating, even though a four top doesn't seem so out of the ordinary a request. Other than that, I would heartily recommend this place to anyone. The steak is fantastic, and their non alcoholic ginger & lime sodas are really bangin'. I would suggest to anyone ordering meat apps to double up, as the chicken wings only come three to an a order, and at $12, are pretty pricey. Otherwise, FANTASTIC!"

  • "The food was very good. The scallops dish was also good, but at $22 for 2 scallops in the entree section, was both mis-categorized and overpriced. We sat in the garden, which was pleasant and quiet. Excellent fries."

  • "Always a good scene with great service. The menu changes regularly and caters more and more for vegetarians as well as die hard meat and fish fans. The cocktail list is varied and can be customized depending on your liqueur of choice."

  • "Our waiter Ryan made the night. He was very helpful, well-versed, charming and genuine. The food was amazing as always. I was put off initially when we came in for a 6pm reservation with a request for booth or outdoor seating, and were told that they would give us a booth but we had to give it up at 8:30. I suspect it was not an overly busy Tuesday night, because it never came up. Still we felt awkward and less relaxed at times as we were all wondering around 8:30 if we would be told to leave. But happily, no fuss was made. We ordered our second bottle of wine we didn't leave until 10 having fed the whole night. Other than that, another nice memory for me and my friends."

  • "Coming to Laurel Hardware was such a great experience! My Fashion friends from out of town wanted to have a great dining experience for their last night in LA. From the customer service to the food we felt Really looked after at this restaurant. Not only I wanted my friends to be happy with my dining choice but also my food allegies were taking care of by a very friendly waiter!"

  • "Loved the ribs, brussel sprouts, and fried jalepenos. Waitress was friendly and patient. The heating lamps were a little too hot - felt like I got a sunburn but some people were cold. Might want to better distribute them, but that was the only slightly negative thing I can say."

  • "Lots going on here. Beautiful people, great tasting food, appropriate pricing, happening bar, starters and entrees are a bit small - but excellent. Tough to self-park but they do have valet. Overall, excellent choice to eat or have a drink. Get there early if going to the bar as a line starts to form on Sat night."

  • "I was a Laurel Hardware regular when it first opened and we had a parting of ways. After a year break, I went back to give it another chance. Clearly it's still a hot spot because the crowd was buzzing. The chef has also improved on the menu and introduced some new and delicious treats. The service was spot on and attentive as well."

  • "I'm such an idiot. I had friends visiting from Chgo and made the reservation for next week rather then this week. Imagine my embarrassment when we arrived at the host stand at a totally packed restaurant and they told me what I had done. The gorgeous young lady could tell I was about to have a melt down and she told me to sit tight for a couple minutes. Needless to say, they found us an amazing table and the evening was saved. Not to mention the incredible service and the outstanding food. I LOVE this place."

  • "The food is great here, and I have had a good experience here before, but I was very disappointed on my last visit. The waiter at first forgot to put my main course order into the kitchen and then when it was finally put in, the food was accidently delivered to the wrong table. So by the time I did finally get my food, the rest of my party was done eating. And the waiter was very adamant that it was in no way his fault. They did comp me my meal, but by the time I got it I wasn't that interested in eating it anyways. At least there were a lot of interesting people to watch to pass the time."

  • "The front of this place still retains the hardware sign, but inside is an incredible space in the back of the restaurant. Definitely make reservations or it's unlikely you'll get a table."

  • "I enjoyed the cocktails...The Brussels sprouts were a real disappointment for us. The thick bleu cheese sauce mixed with the sprouts was not appetizing. Also we had a $5 side of fries served in a tiny ramekin. It had to be about an ounce if French fries, which is just a poor value. They were tasty, just sparse. The burger was delicious as was the grilled octopus. The Scotch menu was VERY limited and inappropriately priced. Despite the obvious shortcomings, we enjoyed the evening and will give it another try."

  • "Malbec was average. Absolutely Delicious Food. Terrible Hostess. Rude and Condescending. Doesn't even read Reservation request notes. Overly crowded bar and so loud."
    Dined on 2/21/2014
  • "We really enjoyed the mix of different plates and the service was very good. Busy place but everyone was just enjoying the restaurant. We sat outside and it seemed to be a better place to be able to talk as inside seemed loud. I would return for sure."

  • "great food and ambiance. total attitude at the door when you arrive -- even with reservations. don't expect to be seated outside. impossible -- even when the place is empty. at the mercy of the hag at the front door, sadly. go for a drink at the bar. great wait staff and food."

  • "Had made reservations 2 weeks prior. Called in additionally and requested to sit outside in the back as my friends told me this is the only way to dine at this restaurant. They informed me it would be no problem. Arrived on time and when confirming with the host (who was extremely rude) scoffed at me at the idea of being seated in the back. The other woman who walked us to the table profusely apologized and explained that even though you make reservations and request to sit in the back they do not honor it and sit first come, first serve. As to be expected, overpriced food, and moderate but unique drinks. We were not impressed although we had a very polite and attentive server. We will not be coming back again."

  • "We arrived ten minutes early for our Valentine Day dinner at 645pm. We were greeted with smiles and seated promptly. We were one of only three couples whom had arrived for dinner at this point and the outdoor setup was beautiful and cozy. They have sectioned off the communal tables for parties of two sitting across from one another and it was done perfectly so you felt you had your own space. We never did have another couple by us the whole time we were here. Our waitress was great and all her ancillary help from the person pouring water to the gentleman taking away out dishes were very attentive to our every need. They gave a free pre-fixed dessert to each couple to share which was a nice touch. I will definitely be back again."

  • "Had to take out two stars for the 30 minutes late on reservation, especially since the hostess was not too informative. Otherwise the food was great."

  • "It was fantastic. Great food, drinks and ambience. Ane of the most beautiful patios in LA. Only issue was they need way more heaters outside on the patio. make sure to ask if they will be seating you outside, we didn't know and weren't prepared. it is beautiful but gets cold."

  • "Amateur, nervous, uncoordinated, confused service. Great food, though."

  • "Seasonal farm to table menus that change frequently and are simply prepared. That is not to say the food is simple, it is beautifully composed thanks to intersecting flavor combinations that showcase the ingredients and to the skill of a kitchen in top form. The mushroom pizza and lamb were standouts."

  • "We were two couples trying it out for the first time. Generally, the staff wasn't that overly outgoing/welcoming, but that was made up by the kooky, energetic, knowledgeable waitress for dinner. There wasn't a single 'small dish' that didn't hit the mark -- all were good. Inspired cocktails. Sexy decor."

  • "It was our first time at Laurel Hardware and we were completely blown away by how beautiful it all was. Each room is unique and inviting. We were 2 couples dining together and were seated at a lovely patio table. The ambience and service were wonderful. Good food and drinks, will definitely return!"

  • "The inventive, enticing menu lured us & the food tasted even better than it sounded. The Lolipop sprouts, a crispy kale salad with ranch dressing, pepitas & parmesan was wonderful. The chicken wings too. Dessert, a nutty cake with shaved ginger, pears, whipped cream surrounded by pear puree, was so delicious I ordered a second one, which I never do! Our server--the kind who leaves you alone when you're talking but is somehow right there whenever want something-- knew the menu (including wines & cocktails) backwards and forwards & when asked made great suggestions. There are 3 sections, in front by the windows, the big bar area in the middle (which gets packed and noisy as the night goes on) & a lovely garden in the back."

  • "Think they are forgetting they are a restaurant as well as a bar. Approached the restaurant for dinner with a reservation. Our party was stopped on the sidewalk and given attitude about asking all of our names and asking for id’s. We blew past the 2 doorman at the door, ignoring their attitude and continued in and gave our party name. With reservation we still had to wait 15 min for a table. Otherwise restaurant was good. Not sure the image is headed in the right direction. I am not sure how one would describe the crowd on a Thursday night."

  • "When you walk in to Laurel Hardware, you don't realize what's waiting for you behind the "curtain". The restaurant opens up into a open industrial space warmed by funky floral wallpaper and lighting. Although we ate inside, the outdoor patio looked very inviting with it's twinkling green space. We started w/ the kale lollipops and ribs, which were both delicious. Not sure why it's called lollipops, since it had more of a chip-like consistency. Nevertheless, they were well seasoned and tasty. The ribs had a great kick and were fall off the bone tender. Also had the chicken pot pie. It was deconstructed. Although the flavors were good, it should be named chicken stew since there was no "crust" to speak of. All in all a good experience."

  • "Went for birthday dinner. Requested 1)front dining area 2)outdoor seating 3)not to be seated in bar 4)not to be seated at communal table. The person I spoke to regarding the reservation seemed to be accommodating. When we arrived, none of our requests had been honored and the hostess was dismissive. Our situation became less ideal as the evening progressed - music and noise level increasing dramatically. Our server was helpful in terms of advice re food. However, did not inform us that the food would "come out in the order it was prepared" until we received our first entree - the fifth person in our party didn't relieve her meal until the rest were nearly done and we had reminded our server. Overall, great food but not a great experience."

  • "First time here as a diner, and not just here for the bar scene. The food was average. It's a fun scene, but I didn't like that we had to sit at the communal table, or that we waited for 25 minutes on a slower night."
