My dining experience was great. Service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious. The scenery was beautiful, calming and relaxing. My only complaints were: the restaurant is very difficult to find and the construction was distracting.

Ambiance, service, and food were excellent. Major construction going on in the lodge/restaurant so only outdoor seating was available. Which was fine since the weather was great and the tables by the creek are wonderful. But a little noisy at times. Hostess did not have a good memory. We saw her three times and all three times she asked if we had a dinner reservation. Obviously applied the first time, but not the other two. You would think she would remember our faces since she was nice enough to take a photo of us.

If you visit L'Auberge, you MUST sit outside! The tables by the creek are lovely (if you can handle a few harmless bugs buzzing about.) Great food, great wine, a bit expensive, so certainly best for "special occasions"

Surely one of, if not, THE BEST restaurants in Sedona! Superb food and an extensive wine list. Patio seating (spring, summer and fall) next to the babbling Oak Creek under cottonwood trees surrounded by nature of all sorts. During our visit watched a Blue Heron, Falcon, ducks, and other birds. Cozy interior restaurant with windows on the creek for winter dining. Great for both large and small parties and definitely a romantic setting. Arrive earlier enough to enjoy the views before dark, or go for a decadent lunch!

I've eaten here twice. The food and service are good but the setting is absolutely beautiful. If you're able to eat out on the patio by the Oak Creek, do so. Its just gorgeous! Little hummingbirds flit about and the sound of the creek running by is so peaceful. I would highly recommend it!

Our dining experience was wonderful at this restuarant. Eating by the creek is awesome. Our waiter was very good. There were three of us gals and two of us share the same birthday. The third gal that was with us mentioned our birthdays and they brought out two creme brulees. They were very delicious. Two of us had lamb shanks and it was so good. Just very tender. The other gal had a chicken entree and she said it was very good also. The risotto served with the chicken was delicious. My husband and I had eaten at this restuarant previously and I couldn't wait to go back. Top notch ! !

This place is a wreck. Service was all over the place (and mostly in a bad, inexperienced, awkward direction), food was bad-to-mediocre (we were served a cheese plate that was atrocious...no serious chef would have let this unsightly thing out of her kitchen), and I have no problem paying serious money for serious food, but this was grossly overpriced. This felt like a tourist trap, pure and simple. Go at your peril, or with low, simple expectations.

We celebrated a friend's 70th birthday, dining next to Oak Creek. The experience was fabulous, the meal was outstanding, and the seating next to the creek was marvelous. The resort is under construction and getting to the restaurant was somewhat of a pain - you have to park your car, then be shuttled to the restaurant in a golf cart. This was quit the hassle when we could have just walked a couple hundred yards to the door but weren't allowed due to the construction. My wife had the steak panini which she didn't enjoy very much - especially for $22. It was pretty much a hamburger panini, honestly. I had the lamb shank which was actually rather good, if not a bit under seasoned.

This was our first experience at your restaruant. My friend and I were looking for a nice meal with upscale surroundings. We stayed at the Orchard and was pleasantly surprised to find you as the sister hotel and restrurant. I went online to read your reviews. Some were not so good regarding your service. I was very plesantly suprised to find the service excellent especially our waitress Tanya, matre d and busboy. Food was delicous. Portions adequite for women, but might have been too small for my husband who was not with me on my AZ vacation. All in all we had an excellent French meal. Thanks....Would definately eat there again :) Max and Geri

The sounds that came from the creek on this particular night were just loud enough to drown out all other conversations from others patrons, but not too loud for my husband and I to have a comfortable conversation. The food was fantastic. The staff was very professional and the bar tender knows her stuff. It was only our third year anniversary, but so far this night was by far the most romantic yet. The last time we dined at L'Auberge there wasn't water in the creek. This time our Easter Day experience was beyond description. We sat creekside and were able to witness Mother Nature at her best. We watched ducks floating by, listened to birds singing in the trees above us, saw a squirrel dash among our tables and up onto the grass, and had hummingbirds dashing here and there. The food was grand and our waitress was efficient and friendly. Due to snow runoff and recent rains we had ample water in Oak Creek and it was delightful listening to the sound of the water rushing past while enjoying our meal. We both savored being able to relax, enjoy unrushed conversation and have nature put on a performance for us.

The location on Oak Creek is beautiful but difficult to access because of major construction. The chicken breast entree was fair. The angus burger was less than average. The service was marginal. Overall, it was a disappointing 2nd visit to L'Auberge. I chose to take my elderly parents to this restaurant, where they had been 20 years ago. It was quite unsatisfactory.

Now that the Executive Chef, Eric Schmidt, is over this restaurant as well as Hundred Rox, L'Auberge is truly the best in Sedona. Wonderful presentations, fish and meat dishes prepared perfectly and simply with fresh ingredients. Service was best we've had in years. The only "problem" is that major construction around the restaurant requires a shuttle ride from above the property which can involve a long wait in a cold evening. But, that is only a temporary condition.

    dleannais
    Dined on 4/6/2009
Let's start by saying that service is not what makes this restaurant. I would have thought that at this price point, and on a slow Monday night, the service would have been spectacular. It wasn't even close and I've been treated better at chain restaurants. The food, however is an entirely different story. The beet salad with tempura goat cheese was amazing as was the lobster bisque. My husband had the Bass, which was good but not overwhelming but the duck was the best I've ever had. Desserts were not particularly intriguing so we took a pass. The wine list is extensive and well balanced in price range.

Although major construction is underway at the resort, the dining experience was delightful. Since it was a Saturday, no construction work was underway so construction noise was not an issue and from the dining area the work is not visible. Not sure if construction noise is an issue during the week. Looking forward to returning and hoping the constrution will be complete by then.
