My husband had the roasted vegs which were delicious filet mignon which was a good sized portion and he thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a salad and the appetizer sized lasagna as my main meal. They brought me an entree sized instead which was good but I have had better. (And they charged me $17 for the appetizer size of lasagna which seemed pricey even for a full sized portion). The table of four ordered completely from the specials list, and on the whole were not disappointed, thought the shrimp in my lobster and shrimp with black linguine lacked some flavor. Have been going to Lattanzi for the past 25 years for pre theatre dinner and to celebrate many other occasions. The food is always wonderful. Artichoke starter is my absoute favorite. We had reservations for 6:30 which I would not recommend on a theatre night for a special occasion as they work very hard to turn tables quickly. Therefor, they were not as attentive during the first half of our dinner. When the place cleared out, the service got better. Everyone loved their meals, especially the veal dishes. I had the branzinni which was simply prepared and out of this world. The people who walked in before us got seated without a reservation. We were seated upstairs. The food was great but had to wait longer for a chicken dish to come out and we ordered other dinners that should have taken longer to come out. So we all waited for the dish to come out before eating and the food got a little cold. We ordered a bottle of vueve clicqot and the waiter was constantly filling our flutes with the champagne. The restaurant is pretty, and the menu is extensive and reasonably priced for New York. My husband loved his "mixed grill" - lamb, veal, and chicken, but my risotto with seafood and marinara sauce was only okay. I must say that I was a bit disappointed that the restaurant did not acknowledge our anniversary, as this was indicated on our reservation - although, I suppose we could have reminded them. All in all, Lattanzi is very nice, though not exceptional. But Lattanzin is a gem in the area.
