Diner Reviews
  • "One of my favorite restaurants. Never had a bad meal there and service is excellent. Been going there for years."

  • "Lattanzi is often my go to restaurant on Restaurant Row. Whenever I'm in town or entertaining a visiting guest, I usually end up going to the Theatre and Lattanzi is a great place for a pre-theatre meal. I especially love sitting in the back room, which is set up like a garden."

  • "They made great French martini's and the food was very good! We went early, 5:30 reservations so it wasn't during their "night life" so can't comment on that. We had a great time with our friends!"

  • "Have been eating at Lattanzi since the 1990's and have always had a terrific meal there. It's my go-to after theatre restaurant (after a 7 p.m. curtain). Everyone I've brought there over the years has loved it as well. The wine list is varied and the food is excellent--the Jewish artichokes and the chicken cacciatore are my favorites. Can't say enough good things about the place."

  • "Formal, traditional Italian, serving the higher-end classics well. In a recent visit, the grilled calamari I had was executed with a deft touch, and the dish was dressed just right."

  • "Great dinner spot. All the food was spectacular. The house wine was good, but I was blown away at the bottled wine prices. The service was excellent, looking forward to returning soon (hopefully without the loudmouth customer sitting next to me who wanted everyone to hear about his personal life)."

  • "I go fairly frequently for matinee day lunch. One of my favorite things is the lavash (thin cracker like bread) drizzled with garlic oil. But there was none this time -- just regular bread and breadsticks. And while my Pollo Lattanzi was good as always, the vegetables accompanying it were way overcooked, something I've never seen before."

  • "Lattanzi was a warm and welcoming restaurant with excellent food and service. We had 5 pm reservations but the other couple we were meeting were late and they were extremely understanding and by no means rushed us. Service was excellent and I would highly recommend this restaurant! Food was exceptional as well."

  • "MY daughter and I dined at Lattanzi after going to a Broadway show. We were looking forward to a good meal and we were not disappointed. The homemade pasta was to die for and the wait staff friendly and polite. It made for a great day in New York ! I would highly recommend Lattanzi to my friends and family."

  • "I have been dining at Lattanzi for 30 years.... One of the most amazing restaurants in NYC. Beautiful ambiance... Fantastic food.... Outstanding service! Great for pre-theater. .. But even better for post theater or late night dessert... The restaurant takes on a whole different personality after the theater crowd leaves!"

  • "WONDERFUL AGAIN-THIS WAS OUR 2ND VISIT AND IT WAS JUST AS WONDERFUL AS THE FIRST. THIS TIME WE SAT IN THE INSIDE PATIO ROOM-VERY COZY. SERVICE-FOOD-DESSERT-WINE...ALL WAS OUTSTANDING AND WE WILL BE BACK AGAIN THANK YOU"

  • "They will get you out in time no matter when your curtain is. The food is delicious, always reliable. Don't miss the artichokes, no matter what form they are served in!"

  • "the special mozzarella appetizer with tomatoe horrible I couldn't find the mozzarella and it was $16"

  • "Lattansi would be a fine dinner for any occasion, but they really know how to get you in and out in time to get to your theater. Very nice staff."

  • "We have dined at Lattanzi numerous times over the years. The food is always excellent as is the service; however this time we were shocked when the bill came. One of our friends ordered veal chop (not on the menu) but suggested as a special. When the bill came, it was billed as $50 which we thought was excessive."

  • "We went after the theater. The restaurant was just opening up for dinner so there was no wait. The food was tasty. The atmosphere was pleasant. The waiter was indifferent - not engaging at all. The prices were reasonable. It was definitely worth it, just not memorable."

  • "A classic gem in the theater district consistently delivers great cuisine, ambiance, and impeccable service."

  • "My boyfriend and I were looking for a nice Italian restaurant to enjoy in Hell's Kitchen. This one stood out for me for 2 reasons: 1) The 1,000 point tag on Open Table and 2) The Roman Jewish culinary inspiration. There's a lot of Roman Jewish history of which I was unaware and I thought the blurb on the menu was great and it was cool to try the foods. I am part Jewish and part Italian so it was fitting. In the bread basket, they serve 3 different kinds, including some matzah! Very nice service and would definitely recommend."

  • "I often dine at this restaurant before catching a Broadway show - classy service, delicious and unusual food choices (I always choose the napoleon for desert) and a lovely ambience. As I walk down the street I see so many other restaurants, but I can't help returning back to this one again and again."

  • "We went to this restaurant based on a Zaggats rating of 5 stars. I give it 3 stars in everything. It was ok. We were going to the theater in NYC, it is very convenient, the staff is polite (although we were never quite sure who was our waiter, it seemed fluid) and they get you in and out in time for the show. I would recommend it for a quick but unremarkable pre-show dinner."

  • "It was our first dining experience at Lattanzi and we were not disappointed. Gem of a restaurant just off the hustle of the theater district. Service was terrific (though they did miss a dish, but were quick to acknowledge their mistake), great wine list, and food was mostly outstanding. Homemade mozzarella cheese was fantastic and would go there again just for that. The tomatoes were just ok which was disappointing because I know that good veggies are available locally at farmer's market) and I kept thinking how perfect that dish would have been with fresh summer tomatoes. But would 100% recommend for families/groups needing a diverse menu or couples wanting a romantic dinner. Will go back."

  • "A THEATER DISTRICT LANDMARK HAS GONE DOWN IN EVERY CATAGORY. LESS THAN STELLAR SERVICE, AFTER TAKING OUR ORDER THE WAITER NEVER REAPPEARED, TO POUR WINE, SEE IF EVERYTHING OK ETC. PORTIONS MUCH SMALLER, AUD NOT AS GOOD AS IT USED TO BE."

  • "A super dinner spot for a pre-theatre dinner experience. Wonderful atmosphere and super service. Made you fell important if even from a small town in the west."

  • "We were celebrating a birthday and I chose Lattanzi and I was delighted with every aspect of the meal. The ambience is fabulous. The tables are far enough apart for conversation and the noise level is perfect. The service was good too. We sat down and my husband announced that he didn't care about the prices since the dining experience (in the first 3 minutes) was so excellent. Our food was lovely, tasty and hot. I can't wait to go back. We had tuna carpaccio and Jewish style artichokes as appetizers, then branzino and veal finished off with terrific coffee and we shared a dessert. YUM."

  • "We were a group of 8 who dined at Lattanzi before a Broadway show. Everyone ordered something different and all loved their food and wine. The restaurant is very convenient to Broadway theaters so an easy walk after dinner."

  • "Lattanzi is a must for us when we are in NYC for a show. We love the food, the ambience, the people, the location. The artichoke appetizer is delicious and something we don't find other places. And we like to save room for tiramisu."

  • "Great restaurant - next to Becco. No $25 wine lise like Becco, but great food and they will get you to the theater on time. Wonderful Jerusalem artichoke appetizer. Very nice people in a family owned restaurant. Lovely!"

  • "We usually dine at another Italian restaurant in the neighborhood but a friend gave us a gift to go to Lattanzi's and it was wonderful. Now will have that restaurant on our list of places to dine when in NYC."

  • "I specifically made reservations at Lattanzi to savor the Lasagna Verde--homemade noodles very light, layered with artichokes in a delicious tomato sauce. Unbelievable! The "special" seafood appetizer was calamari, shrimp and half lobster, with greens, tomatoes and tangerines. Outstanding! My husband had the sautéed artichokes with garlic and oil, fresh, cooked to perfection, flavors naturally balanced. The Tagliatelle Bolognese another miracle that happened in the kitchen!! Hats off to the chef, kitchen staff and waiters for the outstanding service and food. Wine Cabernet Sauvignon smooth and complimented out meal. Thank you for completing a perfect day in NYC."

  • "This was our first time at Lattanzi and we were not disappointed. Food was really good (had the homemade fettuccine) and was really glad we got seated towards the back in the enclosed "patio" area. Great ambiance! Close walk after seeing Kinky Boots."

  • "First-rate food, pretty room, good service are hallmarks. That's a bit unusual for a reliable pre-theater spot on NY's Restaurant Row. Was with a first-timer who loved it, especially the artichoke appetizer."
    Dined on 6/26/2014
  • "The cheesecake desert was great. The ravioli was average but the slice of cheese on top of the pasta should have been thrown out a few days ago, it was stale and very hard. The fish main course was pretty good at the level this restaurant was expected to serve. We have had many outstanding meals here over the years and perhaps this was just a bad night. That is not a good reason for us to abandon the venue; we will give it another chance sometime in the future when again in the neighborhood."

  • "This is a great, friendly neighborhood restaurant. Went there for dinner prior to theater show, service was EXCELLENT (waiters were always there but very unobtrusive)> i had sea bass, my husband had pasta dish both were outstanding (as were the desserts!). I would definitely go there again."
