Diner Reviews
  • "We were celebrating a birthday and I chose Lattanzi and I was delighted with every aspect of the meal. The ambience is fabulous. The tables are far enough apart for conversation and the noise level is perfect. The service was good too. We sat down and my husband announced that he didn't care about the prices since the dining experience (in the first 3 minutes) was so excellent. Our food was lovely, tasty and hot. I can't wait to go back. We had tuna carpaccio and Jewish style artichokes as appetizers, then branzino and veal finished off with terrific coffee and we shared a dessert. YUM."

  • "We were a group of 8 who dined at Lattanzi before a Broadway show. Everyone ordered something different and all loved their food and wine. The restaurant is very convenient to Broadway theaters so an easy walk after dinner."

  • "Lattanzi is a must for us when we are in NYC for a show. We love the food, the ambience, the people, the location. The artichoke appetizer is delicious and something we don't find other places. And we like to save room for tiramisu."

  • "Took 5 and 8 year old grandchildren for lunch before 'The Lion King' and they loved everything presented to them, including delicious flat bread, artichokes and every main course."

  • "We usually dine at another Italian restaurant in the neighborhood but a friend gave us a gift to go to Lattanzi's and it was wonderful. Now will have that restaurant on our list of places to dine when in NYC."

  • "I specifically made reservations at Lattanzi to savor the Lasagna Verde--homemade noodles very light, layered with artichokes in a delicious tomato sauce. Unbelievable! The "special" seafood appetizer was calamari, shrimp and half lobster, with greens, tomatoes and tangerines. Outstanding! My husband had the sautéed artichokes with garlic and oil, fresh, cooked to perfection, flavors naturally balanced. The Tagliatelle Bolognese another miracle that happened in the kitchen!! Hats off to the chef, kitchen staff and waiters for the outstanding service and food. Wine Cabernet Sauvignon smooth and complimented out meal. Thank you for completing a perfect day in NYC."

  • "Great restaurant - next to Becco. No $25 wine lise like Becco, but great food and they will get you to the theater on time. Wonderful Jerusalem artichoke appetizer. Very nice people in a family owned restaurant. Lovely!"

  • "This restaurant caters to pre theater. The portions were small and the food was just ok, it was convenient to theaters."

  • "This was our first time at Lattanzi and we were not disappointed. Food was really good (had the homemade fettuccine) and was really glad we got seated towards the back in the enclosed "patio" area. Great ambiance! Close walk after seeing Kinky Boots."

  • "This is one of our favorite places to dine and we have always had great experiences here."

  • "The cheesecake desert was great. The ravioli was average but the slice of cheese on top of the pasta should have been thrown out a few days ago, it was stale and very hard. The fish main course was pretty good at the level this restaurant was expected to serve. We have had many outstanding meals here over the years and perhaps this was just a bad night. That is not a good reason for us to abandon the venue; we will give it another chance sometime in the future when again in the neighborhood."

  • "This is a great, friendly neighborhood restaurant. Went there for dinner prior to theater show, service was EXCELLENT (waiters were always there but very unobtrusive)> i had sea bass, my husband had pasta dish both were outstanding (as were the desserts!). I would definitely go there again."

  • "First-rate food, pretty room, good service are hallmarks. That's a bit unusual for a reliable pre-theater spot on NY's Restaurant Row. Was with a first-timer who loved it, especially the artichoke appetizer."

  • "The best Riccota cheesecake we ever had...you must try it!"

  • "The food is very good. However, with the prices being the going rate in the area this place should provide a complete course. Unfortunately, they serve you a great veal saltimbocca but it is not served with anything on the side like a pasta or even roasted potatoes. When you ask for some pasta on the side, they give it to you and then charge about $9.00 for it without first telling you. a full pasta entree is around $18 -19.00 and they are not giving you a half serving only a tiny bowl on the side. They should serve all entrees with at least the side of your choice and they should even include a small house salad first. If you were given a full meal for the $27/28.00 entree , it would move up to a 5 star rating."

  • "We were looking for a restaurant for dinner before theater and wanted to try something new. Went on to Opentable and searched for $$$ with excellent reviews in upper 40s on west side. We are glad we did. Make sure to try the artichoke appetizer."

  • "We found this great place after asking around for recommendations. It is right on restaurant row and the food is excellent. The staff is professional and pleasant and the menu seems to be more varied, with more choices, than others in the area. We will definitely be dining here again."

  • "Our party of 4 ate at Lattanzi on June 9th, and were very pleased with the food, service and overall quality of the restaurant. The stuffed zucchini appetizer was ok, but the bucatini pasta and orata fish dish were both outstanding. Otheres had the stuffed ravioli, shrimp, and soup offerings. All were good. A bottle of Valpoicella accompanied the meal, resasonably price and good quality. If you are looking for authntic Italian dishes, and a setting where one can actually have a dinner conversation near the Theatre District, Lattanzi will not disappoint."

  • "Five of us, including our guest from Germany ,had dinner. The wait staff performed efficiently and professionally. The food was even better than we had hoped it would be. Their signature artichokes were a big hit. We all would highly recommend this restaurant, and, will return in the future."

  • "Great service, Great wine list and very european. Noise level is non-existent. Brick and wood interior, just lovely. Just a joy to eat dinner in this atmosphere. Oh, and the food was great too. It's just amazing stepping into the restaurant from busy noisy 46th street to european elegance. Great pre-theatre experience."

  • "Experience was excellent....however very surprised when I asked for a side of pasta, it cost $20.00!!...next door at Becco I could have had all you eat 3 different types of pasta for $22.00!!"

  • "I always have the artichokes and scampi, and have never been disappointed. In addition, the restaurant is beautiful, and definitely not too noisy. Great location near theatres. We're been there about 10 times, and love it each time! I have recommended it to anyone who asks me for a recommendation in New York, "

  • "Chose Lattanzi for pre-theater lunch on a recommendation. Food, presentation and service went beyond expectations. Will go there again next time we are in the city. We usually come to the city for special events. Eating at Lattanzi is a special event!"

  • "Our primary reason for going was to have the Roman-Jewish fried artichokes. Unfortunately, the chef said the artichokes at the morning market were not up to his standards. Fortunately, all the rest of our lunch was fresh and very good. The restaurant is also very pretty and the music soft. Will try again next month for their signature dish."

  • "My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and I had just found this restaurant online. We made reservations and it was one of the best restaurants we have been to. We asked the hostess to take our picture when we got there and my husband made a passing comment about having been in the military. Later on, one of the hosts came over with complimentary glasses of grappa as a thank you for his service. Very classy and appreciated. The service was fantastic, and the food was great. The desserts, my husband had a cheesecake dessert, and I had tartufo, were amazing. It was quite possibly the best dessert I have ever had in my life. It was made differently than most traditional tartufos. Definitely recommend this restaurant!"
