Latin BitesCeviche at its bestThis was our second time at Latin Bites, and we came for the Ceviche, which we think is the best in town. We like the mixed seafood one and they do have 2 or 3 more on the menu. We'll be back.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was very good andThe food was very good and different. I had not had the opportunity to try food from Peru. I really enjoyed trying something different. The waitress was very attenting and helpful in guiding me through the menu selection. I would definately recommend it to others.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMSophisticated EatingA weekend getaway from New Orleans lead a friend and I to Latin Bites. The Peruvian blending of spices and traditional culinary preparation had me smiling throughout the two-hour, four-course experience. LB is a modern landscape with freshly prepared cuisines that are rich in texture and flavor. Our waitress Viviann did not take any leftovers from our table. Roberto Castro, the owner and executive chef made a humble introduction as he noticed from the kitchen how much I enjoyed the dining experience. A great dining experience that has so much potential.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat surpriseGreat food and service. We were craving for the ceviche but unfortunately the had ran out of it on a Saturday night... But they manage very well the situation and offered an alternative one with seafood. Delicious!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMLatin BitesI've been a fan since they were open on Nance. The food this time seemed a little off. The empanadas were not as soft and flakey as they have been. The restaurant itself seems to have just lost something. It used to be so special and a real experience when you went. Now it is just mediocre. It is starting to border not being worth the prices.
On a side note, the TVs that play pictures of the food is just tacky. Please take these down and try to remember who you were when you first opened.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food, service ok.Latin bites was delicious! The brunch menu is well priced and absolutely succulent. We tried five of the menu options and we could not decide which one we loved more. Some of the dishes are more traditional (like the breakfast plate) and others are new and exciting latin high-end cuisine (Arepas, Tamales...). Portions are a little small compared to some of the larger buffet style brunches at comparable restaurants, but you will leave satisfied without being stuffed or bloated.
My only criticism is that the service could have been more attentive. It took them forever to bring bread and waters to the table.
All in all a fantastic dining experience. This is a great new brunch spot for the weekends!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding!!!Excellent!!! Wonderful!! Outstanding!! Delicious!! And every other adjective that positively describes this place!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFlavor partyThe food was outstanding. I grew up on Peruvian food and I was debating on saying out loud if it was better than my mom's home cooking! It's pricey and that was the worst part. The Chicha Sour was my pleasant surprise. It was delicious. I tried the Lomo Saltado and it was awesome. I ordered the Anticuchos and the flavor was spot on, although the serving size was very, very small. The cebiche was also fantastic. Just like I've had in Peru.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding foodEveryone in our group tried something different and then shared. There was a great variety of food to choose. We loved the empanadas. And the deserts were beautifully presented and yummy. We will definately return!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMPlanddinersGreat food! Great service! A little pricey but the overall experience was great!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food, but Be on the Lookout...The food was good, perhaps not great, but good. The menu is very interesting because Peruvian food is a cultural blend of many things. However, when the bill came, there was an extra item on it. I pointed this out to the waiter, and he said, "I know" and took the bill to remove the erroneous charge. Perhaps there was something lost in the translation, but this raised a red flag to me.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual I enjoyed the foodAs usual I enjoyed the food at Latin Bites, and Roberto Castre and and his team are great hosts5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat first timeIt was my first time here and I really enjoyed it. The ceviche was amazing, and so were the the drinks. I had a great time and I will derenitely be back.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Food, Excellent ServiceI definitely will return to try more of the dishes, they all looked devine! The Chupe De Camarones (shrimp chowder ++) was excellent and the Quinoa lettuce wraps were wonderful, as well. Service was very friendly. Outodoor view is subpar (unless you like to look at a parking lot) but the patio is nice - althought we asked them 3 times to turn the overhead fans on...they never did.
My negative comment is that they advertise happy hour as being between 5-7p but only at the bar or patio. So I asked that we be seated on the patio so we could take advantage of the HH prices. Alas, nothing we ordered was available at HH prices so that was agravating. They should be more clear as to what is included and what is not.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience, friendlyGreat experience, friendly and knowledgeable waiter and the best food
Can't wait to go back with more friends!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMStill Working Out the KinksWe went for Mother's Day brunch. We got our frozen drink, which was very tasty, after we had finished our meal because they only had one blender. Seriously. One blender, and a menu touting half a dozen frozen drinks. Mighta seen that one coming. They comped it without being asked, but still. They brought the appetizers and entree out at the same time. They just seemed overwhelmed by a relatively small crowd. I still love the menu and food, and would really hate to see this place fail simply because they can't master simple logistics.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFlavorfulMy family and I ate here for Mother's Day... I don't give the stamp of approval that often, but this was the most flavorful food I had tasted in a long time (I believe Europe has the best/freshest tasting food into world)! Our server was friendly and we took his advice from start to finish and he lead us down a flavorful, tasty delightful path the whole way! From the CEBICHE DE MERCADO, to the ARROZ CON MARISCOS and ARROZ CON PATO, to the SWEET PLANTAINS, our server was on point! Of course there were plenty of PISCO SOURS flowing for the table!
The prices were great and the atmosphere was great for people watching (Latin Bites!!!)5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA New AlternativeWe tried Latin Bites this past weekend and loved the food. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
There was a wait between the appetizers and the main dish but the wait was worth it.
Stick to the seafood. If you want a steak or fries, go to a different restaurant.
Oh, make a reservation, the place is very popular and you will have to wait.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMParking in area very difficult.Parking in area very difficult. Very noisy, hard to have conversation. Food was ok, expected more Latin dishes with the spicy Latin flavor.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExperienceOverall an excellent place to change the palate taste!!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentWe love the food, people and ambient. We'll definitely come back with friends.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMA very enjoyable meal at LatinA very enjoyable meal at Latin Bites this weekend with a family group. Our server was Victoria, who did an excellent job explaining the Peruvian dishes for our group and helping create a fine dining experience. Many interesting dishes and flavors to try. Our second visit to Latin Bites and it is becoming one of our favorites for treating out of town guests.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMREALLY Enjoyed Our EntreesWe loved our main courses at Latin Bites. Upon recommendation by our server, I ordered Lomo Saltado, traditional Peruvian sautéed beef tenderloin. The meat was tender and deliciously flavored. My husband's grilled marinated chicken, was similarly juicy and flavorful. Both of us enjoyed the simple but tasty rice on the side. The menu says "Italians have carpaccio, Japanese have sashimi, Peruvians have tiradito.", so we tried the passion fruit tradito, which was tuna smothered in a passion fruit sauce. And I do mean smothered; the sauce totally overpowered the tuna, the corn and even the sweet potato puree (darn).
Still the main courses were good enough to bring us back. The drink menu also has interesting options to further explo4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMPeruvian CuisineExcellent Peruvian food emphasizing ceviche, which Peruvians claim was invented in their country. The ceviche dishes are out standing. The other dishes are well prepared and deliciously spiced. They are presented on rectangular plates. However, the portions are small.
The service is pleasant and efficient. The place itself is elegant and well appointed. Valet parking is offered.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMI am Peruvian, so I was reluctantI am Peruvian, so I was reluctant going to a Peruvian restaurant during a work trip to Houston. I was impressed with quality of food and service. GOOD JOB!!!!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMPeruvian food at its best.Peruvian food at its best. Each plate beautifully presented with unique tastes of Peru. Will definitely go back!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMinor SlipReservation process was straight forward. Our waitress missed our order for "over-easy" eggs, so we lived with "sunny-side up".4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and excellent serviceGreat food and excellent service .
Inside is very noisy , we had dinner In the outside patio and it was very nice and quiet .
We will be back .4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second time diningThis was our second time dining at Latin Bites & it was absolutely wonderful. Nice setting, with lots of space and nicely set up.
Level of services not well trained and slow. Easy to adjust.
