  • "All the classic Peruvian dishes are made well here. Our waitress was very helpful and enthusiastic with explaining the cuisine to us. I especially liked the cebiche mercado, which was spicy with bit of fried calamari that added texture to the soft, creamy bits of fish."

  • "I have eaten at Latin Bites several times. I was very disappointed that they did not have the noodle dish that we have always ordered and promoted this dish to all of our friends. The service was good but could there is room for improvement. They were slow at getting our drinks to the table and they were not that busy when we were there. Hostess should be a little faster to seat the guest and faster to greet you as you come in."

  • "Some of the more intersting dishes in Houston can be found here - the quinoa salad was simply fantastic, along with the rice and bean cake. Service was a bit spotty, but everyone was very friendly. Great atmosphere and will be returning. Hopefully this time I can get a refill on my ice tea."

  • "This neighborhood gem satisfies on a Sunday. Although the place tends to be packed between 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM, it is well worth it to go just before or just after the crowd. The noise level goes down quite a bit and you can bring your kids then. They serve kid friendly food and plates. For the adults, from the start of the meal with the sweet bread and herbed butter, onto the jalea or in my case empanadas, then to the volcano rice, the meal is awesome. The dessert parfait is delish. While the mimosas were weak, the passiontini was flavorful and is highly recommended."

  • "We were entertaining out of town guests & wanted to go to a place out of the ordinary. Latin Bites fit the bill. Good food, excellent service. The evening went off w/o a hitch. Our reserved table was ready upon our arrival & we were attended to right away."

  • "We had dined at the previous location and enjoyed the quirky atmosphere and food. The new location is a totally different feel. Kind of sterile. The service was bad and inattentive . Most of the food was good except our friend's steak. He ordered it medium rare and it came out well done. The portions were very small for the price. It was not a terrible experience, but we won't be going back."

  • "Four of us went Latin Bites to celebrate our Peruvian friend's achievement of US citizenship. The food brought back many memories for her was a great assortment of wonderful flavors for us. The wait staff was friendly and of Peruvian heritage, willing to put up with all our questions. We had a great time. We were not in a hurry and the meal was at a slight premium for the portions, but its worth trying for all the great Peruvian food."

  • "Arrived at 7:30 and got our food at 9 PM! The place was not that busy at 7:30- so there was no excuse for the length of time it took to prepare & serve our food. Loved this place the first 2 times I came (Spring, 2013)-but will not be going back. The kitchen service was exceedingly slow and all food arrived at the same time instead of appetizers first and dinner next. I ended up eating only 1/3 of my dinner portion, as did my husband. Bill came to $180 (4 drinks)."

  • "This is the second time that we dined here within the last two months and it was equally good the second time. Try a cebiche and some empandas, and everyone's entree was really good. The food has an interesting mix of South American and Asian flavors, and the service is excellent, friendly, and not pushy."

  • "Aa a Peruvian far away from home, this place was outstanding. Food was great, prepared like home but more elegant in presentation and taste is refined. I will come back again. The Picarones were a special treat P-:"

  • "Very expensuve for the quality of our meal. It seems they are making outrageous margins! Or the rent is too much. Either way the consumer is getting it at the end."

  • "We've been going to Latin Bites for a while now. They have some of the most delicious foods you'll find in town alongside very friendly and good service. Very enjoyable experience."

  • "Very good Peruvian food in a comfortable atmosphere. Excellent service from the hostess to the wine steward to the wait staff.. Sadly, undersized portions for a premium price. They have excellent pisco sours, which are not too sweet, just dry enough."

  • "After raving about the food on two prior visits, my wife and I brought guests for a 7:30 p.m. reservation only to find that there was more than one table with crying infants and one or more tables with highly boisterous patrons. Notwithstanding that our server offered to move us, we declined, as it would do no good. The bloom was off the rose. None of us remember the food, but we all remember the irritating noise. It ruined what we expected would be a relaxing evening sampling innovative cuisine. It was not to be."

  • "This past Sunday my guest and I spent several pleasant hours over brunch at Latin Bites. I really enjoyed the relaxed open air feel and flow to the restaurant. The wait staff was exceptional in both serving and knowledge of the dishes they serve. The food flavor & presentation excellent. Highly recommend the Rocoto Porton Bloody Mary's and Picante De Marisco's."

  • "Peruvian food is great, and Latin Bites is the only legit Peruvian restaurant in Houston. Everything is pretty good. The pizco sours are awesome, the food is very tasty, and the service is very good. Unfortunately, the price point makes me think that they are just making a killing until the next Peruvian place shows up in town. Brunch on the other hand, was ok at best. The food was good, but the price point is their weakest point again. There are better brunch places in Houston, with more generous portions and a reasonable price point."

  • "I appreciate that the restaurant keeps their red wines at cellar temperature, although it isn't quite cool enough. It should be 55 degrees or cooler. The server should be trained not to pour too much wine in the glass so it can breathe and they need to bring a wine chiller to the table to keep the wine cool. I wish they had nice, thin glasses too. Noise level is almost unbearable on a busy night; hoping for patio weather soon."

  • "It is very different-each plate is done from scratch and the flavors are quite wonderful. they once had a fabulous buffet and the sign is still up that they do after months of not having the buffet-so I do think it is misleading to leave it up-we went Saturday expecting the buffet to find that they still had not reinstated it--it was 5 star--however the food is very, very good and interesting--it is expensive but worth it--the ceviches are beautifully prepared and the potatoes which originated in Peru are simply fabulous. Recommend for a new experience but wish they would take down misleading sign."

  • "I discovered Latin Bites through Houston Restaurant Weeks, and it was a great find! My Fiancee grew up in Peru, and I took her here while she was in town for the weekend and it was a big hit! I highly recommend this for anybody who likes Latin Food and would like something a bit different. I had the anticucho and ceviche, and both were exquisite."

  • "I had the best experience at Latin Bites. I say experience because the food and the service was absolutely outstanding. They made me feel so special even though it was my first time visiting the establishment. I went there for my friend's birthday and they made her feel like she was family. She is Equadorian and was quite familiar with Peruvian cuisine. I can't say enough about this restaurant. I will definitely come back again and again."

  • "Went for the HRW menu and loved it. Ask for the rocoto chile sauce which goes well with just about anything. The veal heart appetizer grilled with the rocoto chile sauce was amazing by itself. The ceviche was excellent - good portion size too. The rest of the menu looked great as well, so we can't wait to go back. Service was very nice and courteous."

  • "Good is amazing. I recommend "arroz chaufa special", or pollo saltado. Pisco sour has to be the most popular drink in the restaurant."

  • "This is the perfect restaurant for Sunday Brunch. Great for taking out of towners and letting them realize that there is more to Houston. The pancakes are amazing and the service excellent. Good value for money with really nice combinations of dishes. We were tucked away in a corner so did not get a lot of noise."

  • "You will be amazed about the quality of this Peruvian food! I specifically tried the Cebiche de Mercado and the Pisco Sour drink. Both are to die for. I will definitely be back."

  • "My sister and her husband were in town and wanted to try some Cebiche thus I took them to Latin Bites. While sipping on a nice Passion Fruit Pisco Sour, we tried for appetizers both the Cebiche Pescador and Cebiche Market. We loved the Pescador, which was excellent in our opinion. We also tried Seco de Cordero (Lamb), Saltado de Mariscos (Seafood), and Pescado a lo Macho (Fish). All dishes were very tasty and succulent. We also tried the Picante de Mariscos, which was OK but not as good as the three others...in our opinion. We made sure to share the food in order to evaluate the different dishes as a group. To seal the deal, we made sure not to leave without trying Alfajores...which are simply magnificent for a sweet after taste!"

  • "Went for the HRW menu. Creative and delicious. The quinoa wraps were lovely. The ceviche is some of the best I have ever had. The only drawbacks are the noise level and the bar televisions. I do not have hearing issues but I thought the noise level was excessive. And I have not figured out why America needs to be entertained by television when out on the town?"

  • "It is hard to eat healthy here since so many things are fried, but the mixed sautéed vegetables were excellent. The quinoa salad is another great choice. Our server was very helpful in trying to find gluten & dairy free options. It is quiet at lunch although dinner can get quite loud. Nice patio when the weather is cooler."

  • "I tried Latin Butes brunch as part of HRW. Every dish I tasted was absolutely delicious. I couldn't get enough. My favorites were the French toast and the Charopin (sp?). Such good flavors. All of the staff that I encountered were so friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend!"

  • "Food was fantastic! Drinks were great (try the pisco sour)! Am definitely going to go back! Portions were large. Very reasonably priced. Unique ethnic Peruvian food - haven't found anywhere in Houston like it. Most of the staff we talked to were Peruvian, and they gave us great recommendations."

  • "Very much enjoyed our meal though the restaurant was noisy ( busy and no soft furnishings to soak up the noise). Unusual and interesting menu. Everything was beautifully presented and prepared. Service was slow to start - busy- but staff were apologetic and once our orders were taken it was fine with just the right amount if time between courses."
