We were lucky to get a reservation for the second last day this restaurant was opened: such a shame that it closed down. We have been enjoying their food for years and it has been definitely one of our top favorites.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in NYC. So far we haven't been able to find any other place which combines amazing food and service with the relaxed atmosphere. We absolutely Love this restaurant and it's so sad to know that it's closing down in just 2 weeks. We went to this restaurant on June 13th and food and service were as outstanding as always, even though everyone knows that these are the last days of the restaurant. We hope we will be able to make dine here at least one more time before they close.

Tasting menu with wine was very good. The food truly delicious, imaginative and a work of art. The wine pairings were at best- just good. Considering the price of $95. for the wine I would say these wines were less than a 90 rating. For the small portions raising the bar and not the price for the wine would have made the dining experience sensational. Sitting at the bar was considered de riguer but it is much more comforatable sitting at table in the comfortable couches and proper chairs with arm rests. Three hours sitting on a bar stool with a short back rest only would have taken away from from the enjoyment for sure. Wait staff were terrific.

This is our first time to visit this restaurant. We chose tasting manue couse for two with $195/person. Each dish taste was excellent. However, 3 of 6 dishes were fish which taste like Japanese food. I expected a little different taste. Next time, I prefer to seat at Bar counter which looks better than table.

This was the first 2-star restaurant where the food far exceeded the ambiance. I'm not sure I can explain it, but the actual ambiance feels like a hotel restaurant. The tables felt too close, the overall presentation of food was very average. But the food was extraordinary. Not a 2-star establishment, but definitely worth a star and a visit.

The food was incredible although the portions were very small. If I return, I will try the tasting menu since I believe to get the full experience it requires more sampling of the food. The small plates looked delicious, but based on the description of size from the waiter, they seemed terribly pricey. The crispy poached egg with salmon and caviar was simply put, the second best plate I've ever had (second to only the poached egg at bouley). Overall, I'd definitely recommended the restaurant to anyone looking for a great tasting meal, however that person be aware of the cost.

This was, perhaps, the finest restaurant on our long and well-researched list. We adored the small plates and the caring wait staff. We savored each taste and plan to return when we again return to NY. The only negative was the loud, self-important oaf at the next table who never stopped talking during our entire dining experience.

The food quality was outstanding in every sense; it was a real sensory pleasure from the foie gras mousse amuse-bouche to the sensational souffle au calvados finale. Each mouthful was exquisite; the morille starter was very tasty and perfectly served. The 'Ris de Veau' was served in a slightly piquant jus that was a perfect accompaniment. For main, I had 'Le Boeuf' which was superbly cooked and served with succulent wasabe spinach and the most perfect heavenly mousse de pommes de terre ever! The finale of Calvados souffle with salted caramel ice cream was pure sensory heaven! The somewhat rushed service didn't quite match the outstanding food, however. We weren't offered coffee or digestifs despite finishing around 10 pm. But still superb.

The food is excellent, althought certain dishes are a bit salty to me. I enjoy sitting at the bar to watch the colorful and stylish open kitchen. However, I am really disappointed at the service which is certainly not up to the standard of a 2 star restaurant. The waitress who served us had no smile at all, and explained the menu with no enthusiam. We were not good at wine selection and needed more time to consider, another waitress looked impatient and snobish, and did not offer any recommendation or help at all! When I paid the bill with tips, the waitress did not even look at me to say thank you. Maybe the restaurant is too famous to pay attention to everyone, especailly foreign visitors like us.

My wife and I went for our 4th wedding anniversary. We sat at the counter that overlooks the open kitchen. We had the tasting menu and everything was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful, and made the expierience fun, answering questions about what we saw going on in the kitchen and making recommedations about wine and food. I will confess that sometimes when I have the tasting menu I forget what I had before I left the table. Not the case here. Every dish memorable, as were some of the dishes that we spied getting delivered to other patrons. We will return once we saved up funds.

I wanted to eat at l'atelier for a long time. As I consider myself an epicurian, it was a very special event to be able to sit at a world famous chef's table. I went with a friend who is a wine connoisseur, and we were both impressed by the wine list, and service. The food was also the result of elaborated reserch, technique, freshness and flavor. I am one of those who think that size does matter, so I was delighted to have normal size plates, better than most fine cuisine places. It was so tasty, well dressed and the service impecable, that when the bill came, I just tought that it's all worth it. I will be eating at L'Attelier again for sure, this time with my beatifull wife

Presentation was stunning, food outstanding, inventive, and like no other palette experience. The only lackluster performance of the evening was the service. For an elegant restaurant attached to the Four Seasons and touting their Michelin star status, the staff couldn't be bothered. Service was sporadic and casual, waiting for basics like water, clearing the plates, and no menu recommendations. But the food, oh the food...

This was the highlight of our escapade to New York. Joël Robuchon ne cesse d'impressionner. Everything was well-thought of. The Menu Dégustation is definetely a must but, be forwarned; it doesn't come cheap. My mistake - I ordered a half-bottle of Chinon for the full meal; then realized that the foie gras needed Sauternes. I ordered a glass. I could have ordered the wine-pairing - have a different glass with each service (10-course meal) for the same price. Definetely go for the food-wine pairing. Again, be forwarned - this place doesn't come cheap but it's defintely a dinning experience worth trying.

The restaurant was perfect in every regard. Food, service, appearance was fantastic. The main courses were a bit disappointing (chicken and duck) and the famed mashed potatoes were actually gross (way too much butter and mush consistancy), but those hardly blemished the evening. Can't wait to go back for another special occasion. Loved it emphatically.

My go-to nyc restaurant. Sit at the counter and watch the professionals work their magic. Let the staff guide you through a french twist on spanish tapas. But, don't miss the "burgers" (in name only - these sliders have a heavy foie gras component). It's a bit far from the theater district, but there is a nearby subway stop which is far quicker than taking a cab at curtain time.
