Sorry, I had big expectations and it fell flat really fast. A timid waitress who didn't seem to know her menue, Items missing on the lunch menue. Long wait between meal and the restaurant was empty (only 2 other tables). I ask for medium for my Hanger Steak and I got 3 pieces: One well well done, one well done and one medium. It took 30 minutes for dessert to arrive, I had actually forgot about it. The Empanadas we're good but really small, 13$ for 4 bitsize portions??? A friend had the Bar wich was really good and fluffy, well seasoned.

I looked up this place on a foodie blogger to find it to be a top 10 steakhouse in Montreal. It did not disappoint. The Location: Although it is far away from the downtown, it was about a 20 minute walk to get there. The Menu: I ordered off the "Group Menu" and chose Menu 1. The Service: Pretty good! Very cordial and consistently checking in The Food: Excellent. The amount of mushroom soup you're getting may be modest, but it's probably the best mushroom soup I've ever had. The Cornish hen was succulent, the hanger steak was a bit chewy, but grilled to perfection. Big portions: the main course came with fries and some cherry tomatoes. Dessert was pretty good! Final verdict: The setting was very classy, food was good: a good recommendation

I was looking for a place to take some friends visiting from California, and L'Atelier d'Argentine did not disappoint us! The food was great: three people ordered steaks, which were perfectly cooked. I had a very nice piece of fish served with a fresh asparagus salad. We sampled many of the sides, including some amazing garlicky fries. And we tried three desserts: the lemon-ricotta one is particularly memorable. We also liked the Malbec. One tiny thing: I would turn the music down a bit after happy hour. But we'll be back for sure.

The appetizers were very good. When came the main course, we were a bit dissapointed. I ordered the filet and my wife the lamb. Both were extremely overcooked. We had asked for medium. The server came back and offered us to replace our meals. A couple of minutes later it came back and the filet was medium rare and the lamb was rare. The meat was good, but we were a bit dissapointed to see this type of mistake in a place that should be all about meat. The desert was nice. The wine list was very good, and offered nice choices. All from Argentina. It was a nice evening nonetheless, as the service was extremely good.

Nice place, great appetizers, great wine list. The beef is not as tender as we would expect from an Argentina restaurant. . My plate was the poulet de cornouiailles and was extremely salty. It was ok but not at all worth the cost of the meal! Overpriced in our opinion.

With a good variety and generous alcohol parts in cocktails, definitely worth a 5-7 there (they actually have a 5-8). Nice decor and ambiance, clean, classy, not pretentious. Worth a try. Also, the staff makes effort to accommodate you, which is a big plus. Overall, I would go back any weekend for the 5-7 but not so much for diner. Just didn't get the concept of their gnocchi...

The service was prompt and attentive, offered a diversified menu, great wine list well priced and our food was a great surprised. Creative presentation, very tasty every guest was very happy with their food selection and all highly recommend returning and this was definitely a great . I'd heard mixed reviews about this restaurant, but had wanted to try it for myself. I thought the food was delicious, and it far exceeded my expectations. Everything was incredibly well seasoned and very flavorful. They also had a number of wonderful, filling and decadent vegetarian options on the menu, which was a very pleasant surprise! The restaurant can be difficult to find, but it's worth the search!

Location is good. Service is very friendly, effective and courteous. Food was tasty, but has nothing to do with real Argentinean food. The wine list is all Argentinean, but at 3 times the SAQ prices which is too much in my opinion. The meat I ate was awesome though! Probably one of the best steaks in Montreal. It's a good restaurant overall, but food is simply not typical. It's mostly a new approach to Argentinean food.

We arrived for an Open Table dinner reservation at 9:30 pm and were seated immediately. Staff were excellent; our server was a bit inexperienced and not quite as attentive as one might expect, but made up for it in his willingness and enthusiasm. Food was very tasty and well-presented; the beef short ribs arrived lukewarm at the table - when this was brought to the server's attention, he asked if he could return them to the kitchen, however I declined as I was too hungry, and they were still very good. The manager had been keeping a good eye on the customers' tables and was very responsive, offering a dessert without charge as a very nice and unexpected courtesy. Fabulous poached pear for dessert.

The atmosphere is great but that is the best part of this place. The food is good but for the price you're paying it is not up to par. The wine list was extensive. What rubbed me the wrong way was that the waiter, when asked for his opinion, obviously looked at the prices before picking the most expensive option... I hate that...

Good service, good ambiance and nice decor but their steak - supposedly a house specialty - was very disappointing. And I'm not talking about the way it was cooked - which was fine. I'm talking quality of the meat (sold at a hefty price, to boot). Frankly, I can get better tasting steak at Costco. I was part of a group of 6 and all those who ordered steak (4 out of the other 5) were of the same view. I don't intend to return.

I was looking forward to eating at L'Atelier D'Argentine for over a year, and it met and exceeded all expectations. I had previously dined at executive chef Natalia Machado's Azul Bistro when she was in NYC, and when I found out she was moving to Montreal, I made a note to make sure I ate at L'Atelier d"Argentine when I traveled to Montreal. A special scallop appetizer was divine and the striped bass superb. So if you are not a steak person, but you love great food, don't think that an Argentine restaurant won't work for you. Five stars for everything here.

Armed with the warning of the lovely Chef/owner that Argintines eat more than just beef and not everyone dances the Tango, we came curious to see what else they do. The restaurant is chic, modern, all windows, chrome and quiet lighting, mnot a a Gaucho in sight. The food is inventive and delicious. I had the chorizo appetizer and, torn between the 10 ounce steak and the lamb took my server,s advice and opted for the lamb. Great choice; the serving was ample, render and cooked to perfection. My wife had the striped bass and loved it. From our table we could see the waters of the Old Port, something not seen very often in Montreal. L'Atelier d'Argentine is a delight, the service excellent and the food excellent and innovative. I will be back.
