A word from L'Atelier d'Argentine
L’Atelier d’Argentine is contemporary Argentinean in food and style as if torn out of the heart of Buenos Aires. Rooted in the history and nestled in the urban and regional landscape, the genuine Argentinean cuisine is distinct with a strong flavorful identity —easy to understand and even easier to love.
L’Atelier d’Argentine’s menu is honest, focusing on the quality of the core ingredient and a true reflection of contemporary Argentinian food.

L’Atelier d’Argentine offers 4 to 6 lucky patrons the chance to discover the flavours of Argentina. Seated right by the kitchen and the wine cellar, the lucky few have a privileged access to Chef Natalia Machado who gladly accompanies them on a six-course culinary experience.
Each course features a typical dish, and an Argentinian wine pairing.

The menu changes every week. Upon reservation only, each journey promises to be unique. The price, $95 per person, includes all food and wine.

Diner Reviews
  • "The food was great and the service outstanding. Will definitely go back."

  • "I went for lunch only. It was my second experience. I love it!"

  • "I was invited to choose a restaurant for lunch (it was for my Birthday) and I was intrigued by Atelier Argentine, The staff were certainly friendly, but they were evidently short-handed. We were among the first to arrive, and were quickly served appetizers (salad was a bit dull, soup was good) but they forgot to bring bread. The meal arrived soon after, and it was fine -- the polenta was delicious. We ordered dessert after a good wait, but after waiting another 25-30 minutes, still no dessert. We had to request the bill and cancel dessert since after nearly two hours we had to return to work. Very disappointing."

  • "Excellent argentine food and wines. I was born and raised in Buenos Aires."

  • "Didn't really get the sense I lived the Argentinian experience. A little disappointing actually. Exact same decor as DNA had, which is fine but surprising. Only two items on the lunch menu board, but one was not available... it was noon, no one else was in the restaurant. Why not update the menu? Quality/price/taste was good for a lunch. Waiter should be better briefed on menu and suggestions."

  • "Very nice ambience, wonderful food, very courteous and attentive stuff. For sure will visit it again."

  • "office lunch , 7 of us had agreat time service was excellent !"

  • "How come an argentinian steakhouse does not offer meat coming from Argentina ? Finally except the wine list that proposes you some good products from Argentina, nothing is typical from Argentina. L'atelier d'argentine is definitively more a kind of super expensive mexican restaurant"

  • "Been to this restaurant twice and the staff/service was amazing. I love their food but my experience becomes great just because of wonderful staff."

  • "We had dinner at L'atelier de l'Argentine and it was our first time. We are both vegetrians but we eat fish. We had several options: the quinoa risotta was original and delicisous the trout was nice. Overall a very nice experience we had a delay on our order and the manager kindly offered us free desserts. Nice that they have a valet parking !"

  • "Once a year we visit Montreal and discovered this excellent restaurant last year. Returned this year. Very impressed with a couple of phone calls from the restaurant staff prior to our reserved date letting us know of special menu and confirming our reservation for a very busy weekend. Appreciated the customer service. Superb service during the evening. Delicious food. Surprised by live tango demonstration in the dining areas. Thoroughly enjoyed the setting, service and food."

  • "The only decent Argentinian restaurant I found in Montreal. Ambiance is really good. Had a pretty good Argentina feel to it, compared to places I actually visited twice in Argentina. Good location, views on the old port."

  • "Overall the food was great, I went there with a friend and we had one appetizer, steaks and desert everything was good, warm, well served. The only thing is we asked a few questions to the waiter and if we listen to what he said all the steak were the same and the restaurant's specialities are steaks."

  • "Found it through le chop. Very attentive, friendly and bilingual staff. Went with 4 people - 3 of 4 main dishes were very good. The soup was just ok but the salad rocked! Lamb shank tough. Desserts good but not great."

  • "The food is excellent, the staff is very welcoming, the place is beautiful, on the corner of a street, large windows, original decor, I went for lunch and and liked it so much I later went for a romantic Saturday night dinner. There was a group of people in another section and we didn't even hear them. I had never been to an Argentinian restaurant before' I usually prefer Italian but this restaurant is now one of my favorites"

  • "The location is magic, old montreal lights and view on the harbour or a cozy ambiance next to the fireplace, it is great for romantic evening, the food, the wines and the decor is certainly a great choice for couples who want to escape a cold winter night by a touch of argentinian sun."

  • "I had a reservation two weeks before the specific date. I receive a call the night before about the fact than only one menu would be avalaible that night. Then when we arrived no sign of the valet outside neither a man around... They delivered the first service before i even sit at my place ! We had to shared the bench with an other couple. In the dining room i had the entrance straight in front of me. Over 200$ coffee not included. Finally there's many place better at that cost. Will not make the same mistake twice."

  • "The food was delicious and well worth the price, the atmosphere was clean, modern, and vibrant while allowing for privacy at every table, and the staff never rushed us once. Since everything was wood, stone, and glass, however, the noise level made it hard to hear anyone speaking under a lot shout. But the food was done well and the wait staff friendly, would recommend to a friend."

  • "Great food, service and atmosphere. Guests thouroughly enjoyed the evening."

  • "Food was nothing special, steak was poor for an Argentinian steak place. Service was acceptable, generally unimpressed by a lack lustre experienced, would not recommend."
    Dined on 2/11/2014
  • "I found this place really cosy for a romantic diner. There is a a great wine list with a lot of Argentina wine. The food was great but I was expecting a little better for the meat."

  • "Great welcome, very good service, very nice place, great wine selection, chic & decontracted ambience, quality food."

  • "We went during the "Le Chop" promotion. I ordered the "Ensalada de Invierno" that was very good with those oven roasted pumpkins and the "Asado Gaucho" which was good but not extraordinary. The ambiance on the other hand is very romantic with dimmed down lights and we sat near the fireplace. The service was excellent as well, very attentive and knowledgeable of the plates we ordered."

  • "Went there for lunch and had a steak sandwich and a soup, one of the two choices as part of their Table d'hote menu. The food was ordinary and nothing exceptional as you can expect from a so called master chef menu! I was disapointed and only the desert saved my lunch which was not included and also they did not honour their promotion for the 3 service menu that didn't exist!"

  • "I really did appreciate my evening tat L'atelier d'Argetnine, the food was really good , the restaurant is very nice, I loved the decor.. I will good back.. Service was fantastic and defiantly recommending it to all of my friends.I had mention it was for a birth day and they had already a cake with a candle.. I really did appreciate it.. I didn't know that they have in February the chop menu .. it makes you discover the restaurant at a very fair price of only.23$ for a table d'hôte .. It's a great idea... I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Unlike other trendy restaurants, the music was not too loud and was ideal for a romantic night where you can actually have a conversation while enjoying delicious food and wine."

  • "This resto has a split personality. One side more serious and romantic and the other side lively and exciting with a bar. The food was excellent and the service super freindly and spot on. They really catered to making the client happy with thier experience. I will be returning with more friends!"

  • "DINNER FOR FOUR WAS FANTASTIC; FOOD, SERVERS, RESTAURANT AMBIENCE EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS. THE PULPO WAS DELICIOUS; UNUSUAL PRESENTATION BUT VERY TASTY. SERVERS TOOK TIME TO CHAT WITH US. I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE DECOR OF THE RESTAURANT; VERY MODERN, LOTS OF WINDOW SPACE BUT STILL VERY INVITING. HAD PRE-DINNER DRINKS IN THE BAR; FRIENDLY, FUN ATMOSPHERE. BARTENDER INFORMATIVE AND PLEASANT. WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT AND WE WILL BE BACK."

  • "I was attracted to the place because of the way the plates were described with a savoury mix of flavors. The staff took our coats. The restaurant was nicely designed. The ambiance was hip and charming. When we were sat, the first thing I saw was the "Table d'Hôte" menu written on a chalkboard next to our table. I knew right away what I was going to have. It's only when the waitress took our orders that she told us it was the lunch menu... We were seven people, and only the Salmon plate was tasty. The Troute was not cooked, the other fish (Bar) was dry and served on a mashed potato purée that had no taste (and had lumps), and was served with NOTHING else. And the quinoa risotto wasn't creamy nor cheesy. The spare ribs were VERY dry and hard."
