We had dinner at LaScala. We were cheerfully greeted and seated promptly. This is a casual dining place. The service was attentive and the food was good but the background music was too loud and would not have been of my choosing, at least not for dinner. The bar was pretty empty but the TVs were going and a bit annoying. It was almost like a sports bar that I had to be in even though I was in the dining area.

We had a very nice dinner at this restaurant located near Independence Park. We were seated in a window side booth and could watch the horse drawn carriages going by. The bar made a great Negroni and the Chianti choice was very respectable. The food was good, not great. The menu is large and there are many choices. We tried the tuna, vodka pasta and the ravioli. The service was friendly and competent, and it was quiet enough to easily converse. We would go back.

My wife picked LaScala's for her family bday dinner. They did a really nice job. My son got the spicy tuna which was prepared very well. My wife got the Talapia and enjoyed it as well. I got the pork chops which unfortunately was overcooked and the sauce was thin and watery. Shame too because it was a very healthy sized pork chop. My daughter got the Lobster Ravioli and liked it very much. The deserts were well prepared but my coffee tasted stale like it had been on a while. The service was excellent with the waitress very attentive and full of bright smiles. Overall i would go back.

Delicious octopus salad and chopped salad, and the dirty martinis were the absolute best. My husband liked his pork chop, my friend said his papardelli with bolognese was wonderful. The veal saltimbocca was not the best, nor was it traditional, but it tasted great!

My friend and I had a good time. We always go to lunch and/or dinner at various venues during restaurant week in center city, since we both work in the area. We have favorite places we frequent during the year (La Scala will be added to the list) but take advantage of the prices and menus during this occasion every year. We had a pleasant, attentive waiter, food was good, we were able to talk and hear each other and did not feel rushed. All in all a nice weeknight outing.

My friend and I went for restaurant week, and we were not disappointed. The service was great, and the sangria was excellent! I had lobster ravioli, and my friend had a salmon dish. My dinner was delicious, while his, he said, was OK. The dessert, however, made up for any complaint he had about his salmon. He said the tiramisu was the best he'd ever had!

We have season tickets to the Walnut Street Theatre and are so happy we found LaScala! It's become our go-to brunch before the show (and our drink afterward). We've ordered something different every time - and loved everything! As an added benefit, LaScala validates the parking in their building - even covering our time at the theatre. We will see you again and again!!

We were in the neighborhood to see a movie and decided to check out local restaurants with Italian flair and came upon La Scala. What a great surprise. The waitress neglected to tell us about the Restaurant Week specials, however, the dishes we ordered were perfectly prepared and plentiful. I had lunch leftovers. Chicken parm was breaded and delicious (and I'm a stickler for a well prepared chicken parm) and the seafood fra diavolo was hot and very tasty. We would definitely return there and try other dishes. I highly recommend this place.

Have been going to LaScala's for many years and have yet to get a meal that I was not happy with. A great number of choices for appetizers. The calamari and octopus appetizers are great. The pasta is always excellent. My favorite is the pork chop. Made with mushrooms and hot peppers. I love spicy! To go along with the consistent food is the consistent service. Always good and attentive. Great place to eat if you are going to the Walnut Street Theater. Even the Forrest Theater is not too far. Also quick and convenient for Jersey people coming over the BF bridge.

It was my birthday dinner, and I wish I picked a different place. We arrives 10 minutes early and were sat about 45 minutes into our reservation. Upon seating we we greeted by a nice Waitor, but it took a long time to order. We did restaurant week but ordered extra apps to try other things, sirloin bruschetta was cold I'm not sure if it was supposed to be. My baked caprese had good flavor as did other apps. Dinner came out the server kept placing the food at the wrong seats (party of four) then just auctioned it off. Sat with empty glasses of wine and couldn't get attention to order more. Mentioned it was a birthday twice, and at dessert a food runner again auctioned off dessert and no type of candle or anything. Tiramisu was dry. Let down.

Saw a friend post on Instagram about their food during restaurant week so I decided to book. We were seated quickly and service was quick and servers were friendly. The only thing wrong that I can say is I wish they served better mussels. They were so tiny we barely knew they were there in the shell. My opinion is that regardless if it's restaurant week and they were specifically only served that way for that purpose I would think you would put your best out to keep people coming back for more. Overall other good was okay.

My husband and I went there with our 15 yr old son on a sat night. The food was very good and presentation was excellent. The martinis are huge!! My only complaint would be the order in which the food came out. We ordered aps, salads and entrees. The waiter brought out my husbands salad and app at the same time (which is not how it should be) then ten minutes later brought out my app then five min after that my sons app...So me and my son were looking at my husband with all of his food while we had nothing. Of course no one ate until everybody was served which meant my husband and my apps were cool by then. Dinner was the same way. All in all, it was a good place with great food. Order the Grilled Artichokes!!!! They were out of this world.

Went to LaScala's for lunch and ordered the beet and feta cheese salad which was good, but the crabcakes were lukewarm and had fillers in them. My sister and I both ordered dessert - me, the bread pudding with chocolate drizzle, and my sister ordered an apple dessert. The bread pudding was dry and had caramel drizzle instead of chocolate, and my sister's dessert had sour apples. Then the $73.00 bill came!!!! I hate spending money on tasteless food. My husband loves their strombolis, but we will never be spending our money there again.
