My husband and I visited LaScala's before seeing a show in the city. The food and atmosphere were both great. They even have free parking if you park in the garage next door. Don't forget to ask our server for a parking voucher. Will definitely go back again.

We all ordered the arugula salad for our first course and none of us had the complete salad -it is suppose to have roasted eggplant and it was missing in everyone's salad. When we mentioned it to the server, he simply asked if we wanted it on the side and just gave us raw eggplant on the side which was horrible tasting! The main course was great but when we asked to have our leftovers packed, half of us didn't even get our packed food from the kitchen. We were so annoyed, we just gave up on it and left. I have had their food at other locations and loved it but was very disappointed by the service here.

Always enjoy the food at LaScala's. Started with drinks at the bar. The bartender was friendly and attentive. They honored our seating request for a window booth. And the food and service were great. Combine an excellent experience with a FREE parking pass and LaScala's is definitely a place to go. (To use the free parking be sure to ask the restaurant in advance for the correct parking garage to park in.)

Wife and I came in to Philly for a movie and dinner. LaScala's was on Opentable as a 1000 point special. I've never booked a 1000 point special before so I read the reviews, which looked exceptional. After visiting, I'll respectfully disagree. Service was fine. Ambiance was OK. My appetizer (broccoli rabe and sausage) was overcooked rabe with slivers of gray sausage and way too much garlic. My dinner (the 'homemade' gnocchi), in the words of Chief Ramsey was "nasty!" About 3/4 of a pound of heavy gnocchi swimming in sauce---with tiny cubes of mozzarella inexplicably floating around. $22 for 2 glasses of $12 Sangiovese-yikes. Want good Italian food? Go to Ristorante Panorama or Gorgio's on Pine, both with exceptional wine and gnocchi.

We had two apps, baked meatballs and stuffed long hots, both were phenomenal. For entrees my family had pasta bolognese, baked lasagna, ravioli and chicken parm. All were wonderful, the lasagna was a bit too hot though. Dessert was wonderful, definitely save space for it

My meal was bland, no capers as described in the menu. I would describe the sauce as oily with a hint of lemon. (Chicken Alla Romana). My husbands first glass of red wine was warm. On the flip side, my husband was pleased with the amount of seafood in his dish (mixed seafood).

The food was excellent and the service was wonderful. My husbAnd and I went out to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary and it was a wonderful experience. The only thing I would recommend d is to ask the diners if they would prefer a quiet place or more energetic. The room we were in was rather noisy because there were many families with children. This usually does not bother me since I raised 4 of my own - however because of the occasion we would have preferred a little more quiet. Overall, however, it was wonderful!

We had dinner at LaScala. We were cheerfully greeted and seated promptly. This is a casual dining place. The service was attentive and the food was good but the background music was too loud and would not have been of my choosing, at least not for dinner. The bar was pretty empty but the TVs were going and a bit annoying. It was almost like a sports bar that I had to be in even though I was in the dining area.

We had a very nice dinner at this restaurant located near Independence Park. We were seated in a window side booth and could watch the horse drawn carriages going by. The bar made a great Negroni and the Chianti choice was very respectable. The food was good, not great. The menu is large and there are many choices. We tried the tuna, vodka pasta and the ravioli. The service was friendly and competent, and it was quiet enough to easily converse. We would go back.

My wife picked LaScala's for her family bday dinner. They did a really nice job. My son got the spicy tuna which was prepared very well. My wife got the Talapia and enjoyed it as well. I got the pork chops which unfortunately was overcooked and the sauce was thin and watery. Shame too because it was a very healthy sized pork chop. My daughter got the Lobster Ravioli and liked it very much. The deserts were well prepared but my coffee tasted stale like it had been on a while. The service was excellent with the waitress very attentive and full of bright smiles. Overall i would go back.

My friend and I had a good time. We always go to lunch and/or dinner at various venues during restaurant week in center city, since we both work in the area. We have favorite places we frequent during the year (La Scala will be added to the list) but take advantage of the prices and menus during this occasion every year. We had a pleasant, attentive waiter, food was good, we were able to talk and hear each other and did not feel rushed. All in all a nice weeknight outing.

We were in the neighborhood to see a movie and decided to check out local restaurants with Italian flair and came upon La Scala. What a great surprise. The waitress neglected to tell us about the Restaurant Week specials, however, the dishes we ordered were perfectly prepared and plentiful. I had lunch leftovers. Chicken parm was breaded and delicious (and I'm a stickler for a well prepared chicken parm) and the seafood fra diavolo was hot and very tasty. We would definitely return there and try other dishes. I highly recommend this place.

Have been going to LaScala's for many years and have yet to get a meal that I was not happy with. A great number of choices for appetizers. The calamari and octopus appetizers are great. The pasta is always excellent. My favorite is the pork chop. Made with mushrooms and hot peppers. I love spicy! To go along with the consistent food is the consistent service. Always good and attentive. Great place to eat if you are going to the Walnut Street Theater. Even the Forrest Theater is not too far. Also quick and convenient for Jersey people coming over the BF bridge.

It was my birthday dinner, and I wish I picked a different place. We arrives 10 minutes early and were sat about 45 minutes into our reservation. Upon seating we we greeted by a nice Waitor, but it took a long time to order. We did restaurant week but ordered extra apps to try other things, sirloin bruschetta was cold I'm not sure if it was supposed to be. My baked caprese had good flavor as did other apps. Dinner came out the server kept placing the food at the wrong seats (party of four) then just auctioned it off. Sat with empty glasses of wine and couldn't get attention to order more. Mentioned it was a birthday twice, and at dessert a food runner again auctioned off dessert and no type of candle or anything. Tiramisu was dry. Let down.
