Diner Reviews
  • "Our meal was going well until the entrees were served.... The waiter forgot to place my wife's order.... Since the orders are made to order we decided instead of having her and everybody wait we shared our entrees with her!!! The waiter was tipped accordingly!!!"

  • "I have always enjoyed eating at Lasagna but this was a disappointing experience. We had a reservation for 8pm for a group of 10, though it turned out that we only had 8 people. We were told that it would be a few minutes till we were seated. Our entire party was present by 8:05pm. We were not seated till 8:45pm. Our waiter apologized for the wait, but that was it. Service was unusually slow, with drinks taking a strangely long amount of time though by that point the restaurant was not particularly busy. Our appetizers came quickly but one was not delivered. Lastly, our food took a long time to come. While the food was tasty, the overall service left a bad taste in our mouths. I won't bring a large group here again."

  • "after an afternoon at an expo at Javitz center, we went to Lasagna for an early dinner. 2 of us had the mixed seafood pasta entree, and our friend had a special of the day- shrimp/scallops pasta. we all had a house salad. the food was delicious, portion size was good. the staff was friendly and professional. Next time we'll try some of their famous lasagna entrees. Reasonable prices. We'll be back!"

  • "Good food and decent service. A little crowded but all in all a pretty good place. Nice portions of lasagna and many different unique kinds to select from"

  • "this place has never let me down. i've taken friends and family here when they're visiting from out of town. I even had dinner here with my wife on our first date years ago. food is always cooked to perfection. yes, try the lasagna. but also don't be afraid to try their daily specials which are always unique. Service is fast and friendly (a good combination)."

  • "The food was just OK.. My husband had the lasagna which he said was not special. I asked for plain bread, which they brought out, but then removed the garlic bread that my husband was eating. I asked for parmesan cheese which was brought out in a shaker, rather than fresh. My soup was OK."

  • "The experience was great. My date and I had a semi bad table at first but was moved without us requesting it. The tables are a bit close. The food is really good though. Just the right amount lasagna."

  • "We booked this restaurant at the last minute. Lasagna had good reviews and was rated well, and could take us at our desired time. We we arrived we were seated and the nicest waitress came over to help us. We were treated very well and she was a lot of fun. She explained the menu and was very accomodating. The food was fantastic, we all got different things and did a little sharing, the portions are so large that we actually shared some meals. I highly recommend this restaurant, I will defenitly go back again."

  • "This restaurant is the definition of no frills. While the food was good, the service and ambiance could have been MUCH better. The staff was inattentive and were eating for most of the time that we dined. There was also a weird smell. I went here because i got a really good groupon deal. I would never dine here full price."

  • "i heard about this restaurant on the travel channel and decided that i wanted to celebrate my 21st birthday here with my closest friends. The food and the wine were wonderful! I had the chicken lasagna and it was incredible. And our waiter was very sweet and very attentive. What a great way to celebrate this rite of passage!"

  • "Nice ambience, great food. Had one of the vegetarian lasagnas and the fish special, which was perfectly cooked. Great service, great location for the Joyce Theater."

  • "I took my staff to Lasagna for a belated holiday dinner and it was great. The food was delish, the cocktails were great and the service was awesome because they didn't hover over us or chase us out after two hours. Interestingly enough we were there for nearly four hours eating, drinking, gabbing and laughing. I'll go back again as, I'm sure, my staff will too!"

  • "The menu asks customers to be patient, as food is cooked to order. It did take a while, but eventually all our entrees arrived. Only 1 of us (there were 5 in our group) ordered lasagna, but all were relatively pleased with their food. I had ordered the Fussili Melanzane, and asked if they would substitute a different pasta. No problem, I was told. When the dish arrived, they had forgotten about that. The waitress apologized, promising to remedy the mistake. I was concerned about time, as everyone else was eating and we had a performance at the Joyce Theater to attend. However, I didn't need to worry. The correct dish arrived soon after! Warning: there's a 20% gratuity for 5 or more."

  • "(Sorry to be late in filing this, I was hospitalized shortly after leaving restaurant (not related) for 18 days. A true Lasagna-lovers paradise...a variety of house special lasagnas, including lobster, seafood,,etc--rarely seen, and custom made lasagna, where you choose the ingredients. A novel & pleasing idea. Side salads just right. Great food, reasonable price . Definitely will revisit."

  • "I had biked past this place for 2 years, with their appealing name but not a breakfast food:). Finally went with teen son and it did not disappoint. The salads were terrific , one with shaved Granny Smith apples, and the other a Cesar, and as requested neither drowned in dressing, tho both dressings were excellent. Both our lasagna were perfectly prepared, piping hot en casserole, al dente pasta, and no sense of a microwaved finish as in too many other restaurants. I had the spinach which was light w a light red sauce and song had sausage and onion. Would recommend both. He is already planning his next trip. Setting is pretty yet homey. Waitstaff was darling to special-needs son obviously excited about his special evening."

  • "We are an eclectic bunch, we find a little something for each of us to enjoy at Lasagna, even some tempting choice to share-"

  • "Lasagna Restaurant is a nice, relatively quiet place if you are in Chelsea. Plenty of lasagna choices and a traditional Italian style menu. Wine is inexpensive (my friend said she pays more when she's out in Ohio) - which is a find in NYC. I'll be back."

  • "Was going to the Joyce and got a coupon for 10% off for here, so decided to try it. I didn't have time for the lasagna, but I had the chicken parm and asked for a meat sauce with my side of pasta (extra $ of course). The meal was excellent. Satisfying down-home comfort food, and a large portion (I could have taken home half, but was going to the Joyce and didn't think other patrons would appreciate the smell of pasta during the dance, so I ate more than I should have :-) . Also, they give free garlic bread before the meal comes. Yummy! It was a very rainy day, so the place was empty, but the service was great and so was the food. I definitely want to come back and try the lasagna next time!"

  • "On October 26, My partner and I were married and held our reception at Lasagna in Chelsea... What a delight!. I set this all up over the phone and through email, so I had no Idea what the place was like. I took the advise of other reviewers, and took a chance. I am so glad we did. The food was wonderful! what a menu, there is something for everyone. We had several vegetarians in our party, and they had no problem. The tables were set and they were ready when we arrived. The staff was so helpful, and not to mention the waiters were cute! Everyone was wonderful.... THANK YOU so much for a memorable evening!"

  • "Excellent food with large enough portions to share. My husband and I shared one order of lasagna and a salad and it was plenty. Also love that they give out garlic bread at no extra charge."
