Las Canarias - Omni La MansionAwesome BrunchAlthough pricey, this is the best brunch I have ever had. Wide variety of both lunch and breakfast foods served buffet style. All food is high quality. The service matches the food and price. On the riverwalk, so sitting by the river for the morning brunch was very pleasant for my wife and me. If you are looking for something special for a Sunday brunch, you have to try this place.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful River Walk restaurantSunday brunch at Las Canarias was everything you would want for an elegant Sunday brunch. Beautiful setting. Lots of wonderful food choices. Good friendly service. Amazing desserts. We had a wonderful time. We go to brunch everywhere we travel and this is one of the best anywhere in the US.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLas CanariasServers and staff were fantastic; very friendly, outgoing, attentive, without being intrusive. Drinks were delivered with "healthy" pours. We had beet salad and ravioli to start; then halibut & veal tenderloin for entrees. Everything was perfect. Would definitely recommend this place.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMEvery visit to SA, I'm here! This is the best buffet breakfast on the Riverwalk. Without exception. Try it! The coffee is exceptional, the bread spread abundant, fresh made inlets and eggs al dente, fresh fruits and organic yogurt are a few of great items.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding ExperienceAs a 40 year local resident I can say that in my opinion Las Canarias is one of only two truly outstanding restaurants on the Riverwalk (Biga on the Banks is the other). As usual our meals were prepared to perfection. The beef tenderloin was cooked exactly as requested and vegetable substitutions were accommodated with delight. The braised beef short ribs were superb and so tender that a knife was hardly needed. Excellent wine list and deserts. Weather permitting try dining on the outdoor patio. On a nice day it can't be beat!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTranquility on Saturday River SceneFood and service was excellent. The Quail appetizer will not disappoint. Vegetarian option of white and black spatzel was delicious. Duck confit was outstanding. Our window table was romantic and tranquil to the constant flow of the River Walk crowd on a Saturday night.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Ambiance & ServiceWe enjoyed a lovely meal. We had a nice table inside by the window overlooking the river walk. The ambiance was very nice.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLas CanariasNice place, but for the prices, everything should be superb! The cheese board had no grapes and only 2 small slices of cheese. They could have left off the mini 3 jars of spreads. Bread offers are very nice....presented on array to each diner for a choice. Service very good. Wines by the glass limited and pricey, but nice offers of about 9 each for red and white. Good wine list. No sides come with the entrees, must order in addition. There were four of us, and two of the fish dishes were a bit over cooked. Duck dish was superb. Nice guitarist playing. 4 glasses of wine, 4 entrees, 2 salads equaled a $250 tab. For that price, things were nice but not over the top.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMViva FiestaViva Fiesta
We had a great view of the Fiesta River Parade, amazing food, wine and excellent
service. This is an efficient and friendly restaurant.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWhile this was a brunch buffet,While this was a brunch buffet, it far exceeded expectations. The food was fresh, original and creative. Moreover, the buffet was refreshed often enough so there was never anything "missing". Despite the crowds, the buffet was sufficiently substantial to make waits in the lines very short.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Brunch experienceMy uncle has to have brunch here every Sunday after church, and now I know why. Brunch is delicious here! Omelet bar, fresh fruit, seafood, salads galore. Did I mention bottomless Mimosas? I enjoyed myself! The service was outstanding, as if they treat you like royalty. In my opinion, brunch is your best option for dining. I really didn't care for the dinner menu during the Fiesta River Parade. This place is casual, wear your khaki shorts & sandals, you'll fit right in. I have never had better service in San Antonio, than on the Property at La Mansion.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday brunch riverside wasSunday brunch riverside was awesome. The food and the service were fantastic.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe place is lovely, our tableThe place is lovely, our table terrific, service excellent, and the guitarist a pleasant addition. But my entree at least, a duck breast special of the night, was not very good.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a wonderful brunch. ManyHad a wonderful brunch. Many various types of great food.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding service. The staffOutstanding service. The staff always makes you feel important. The drinks , food and service were wonderful. We shared the quail and cheese plate appetizers. Both were super. The veal entree was excellent as well. We had a number of entrees and everyone raved about theirs. Can't say enough good things about our experience.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find on the river walk!Great find on the river walk! The food was well executed, and a great wine list.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Sunday BrunchBest Champagne Sunday Brunch! We have been going here for years and always have a wonderful experience. This Sunday we went to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary and we were treated like royalty! We love this place. We always request our "special table" and we've never been disappointed with the atmosphere or food.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is my first five starThis is my first five star rating and this place deserves it. Food and service were exceptional. The smoked quail appetizer is one of those dishes that amazes your taste buds. Great value.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a 6:00 reservationWe had a 6:00 reservation and even after we told the waiter that we needed to be out for an 8:00 show, we almost missed the start. We had to ask for the check and cancel dessert. That doesn't take away from the great food and the otherwise attentive service though. We really enjoy this restaurant. BTW, we made it to our seats at 8:01, just before the show started, so all is good.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMLas Canarias is hard to explainLas Canarias is hard to explain to someone who's never been to San Antonio's Riverwalk. It's a rare find--a hotel restaurant that's truly a special place to dine in a five-star hotel that appears to be straight from San Antonio's origins as a Spanish mission. Inside is fairly intimate--outside you enjoy the wonderful ambiance of the Riverwalk as you dine on one of the multiple terrace layers just outside the restaurant. We first dined at Las Canarias about 30 years ago and the food is still as exquisite as it was then. The portions are right-sized, the menu has an interesting variety of tastes and the presentation and attention of the wait-staff is just right. Enjoy!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a lovely table outWe had a lovely table out by the Riverwalk. The food was superb, with perfect portion sizes. The wine list was extensive, and not over priced - although there were a few extremely high end wines on the list, for those who choose the splurge.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOutdoor dining at this restaurantOutdoor dining at this restaurant means a table by the San Antonio River and a front seat to that vibrant, special scene.
A concern: Your advertising listed this restaurant as a 1,000 point place to make a reservation, but my account was given only 100 points. Please check on this and clarify. Thanks/4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful dinnerWe had a wonderful dinner and dessert the first time here. The waiter (Joseph) was WONDERFUL and very attentive to our needs. The quail appetizer was the best! We would definitely go back!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe staff were especiallyThe staff were especially friendly and accommodating.
We had the breakfast buffet and it was worth it! Their food is fresh and vibrant. Their orange juice taste freshly squeezed. My favorite was the parfait. It is not your ordinary parfait, it's creamy and just the right amount of sweetness! The food was amazing!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOur new favorite. The food was incredible. My husband had the roast chicken. He said it was equivalent or better to the chicken he had at Emeril's. I had the veal, something I typically do not eat due to personal opinion about how they are raised, but it was excellent. We sat outside, which was fun. Watching everyone walk by was entertaining. It is quiet inside but very chilly. When we go downtown we typically eat at Bohannon's. This place was wonderful , not as loud Bohannon's . The deserts were good but they need some chocolate choices.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the breakfast buffetWe had the breakfast buffet and we enjoyed it. The service from our waiter and chef was great. We will return next time we need breakfast on the Riverwalk.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMI was there for dinner withI was there for dinner with a group of 9. The food was excellent, but the service was not great. We had to ask to get our water glasses filled, and they did not come back with additional bread. The wait was long between courses. The entire evening took way too long!3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMI was in San Antonio for aI was in San Antonio for a meeting. It was great for lunch, and not "tourist-like" as so many riverwalk restaurants are. I was there last year during the same meeting and it is consistent3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the BestFantastic Restaurant. Best Margaritas in San Antonio. A wonderful dinning experienceThe Chateaubriand. was cookedto perfection and carved table sideby the chef . Service was attentivebut not over done. We've been coming here for special occasions for over 22 years & will continue to come back.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBest in San AntonioFriendly and very attentive service. Knowledgeable staff. The food was outstanding. And the best of it all, sitting at the San Antonio Riverwalk on a mild spring evening with an excellent bottle of French Chablis, can life be better than that. Also, outstanding desserts.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe entire experience wasThe entire experience was fantastic. The waitstaff was extremely friendly and knowledgable and the food and presentation was absolutely fantastic.3/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWeekday BrunchHave been here before but for dinner. This trip was weekday breakfast. The breakfast buffet food exceeded my expectations in many ways; omlet station, abundance of fresh fruit, several hot egg dishes, great selection of breads and pastries. Perhaps a bit expensive, but I plan to return shortly.3/5/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely restaurant in La MansionLas Carnarias is a lovely restaurant along the Riverwalk. We always try to get there when we are in San Antonio. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely and the service is always good. We started with cocktails that were excellent. We didn't have salads as we just attended an industry reception which had appetizers. I ordered a fish dish and requested spinach instead of the lima bean vegetable. I also ordered the fish well done. Unfortunately the meal came out with the lima beans and the fish wasn't cooked through. Once they realized the vegetable issue they took care of it. My husband had a wonderful chicken dish that he really enjoyed. Even with the mix-up, we enjoyed our dinner and the lovely restaurant.3/3/2013 12:00:00 AMRiver & ChampagneOut of state friend was staying at the hotel so we decided to try the restaurant. This had to be one of the most romantic spots I've ever been in! We had a corner table with a window that overlooked the river. The restaurant was quiet though there were a few other tables seated and it felt like the waiters were only there for us. Loved the hummus cheese spread for the bread and I don't even like hummus!! Delicious meal and exceptional time. I wish the table hadn't been so small. I do understand the closeness factor. It was so romantic and dimly lit. Between the hustle and bustle of the tourists on the Riverwalk and the quiet charm inside Las Canarias, I was surprised at how lost I could get in their food! 4.5 for ambience & overall, not 4!10/21/2012 12:00:00 AM
