Diner Reviews
  • "Las Brisas is a beautiful restaurant with a breath-taking view! The food was delicious and our service was excellent! Our waiter, Ryan, was so helpful and attentive, our needs were taken care of immediately. Because my birthday dinner was on a Saturday, it was very crowded and noisy in the restaurant! I think they have too many tables indoors to accommodate so many people! I am sure during the week would have been less crowded and noisy! But nevertheless, my party thoroughly enjoyed themselves and yes, I will definitely go back! But probably not during the weekend! "

  • "We were seated 40 minutes after our reservation passed. No one took our order in the bar as we waited (we had to go up to the bartender and order ourselves). The menu is nearly all seafood, but does have ahi tuna nachos and cheese on other dishes. So when my daughter asked if she could have just chips and cheese they said no. Two cheese enchiladas in the low twenty dollar range! This restaurant seems to only care about how much money they can get out of their guests now. To be fair the waiter was classy and did not charge us the corkage for the bottle of wine we had already opened. We had been there several times years ago and enjoyed the experience. No more and never again!"

  • "We all enjoyed Las Brisas. They were from Arizona and never been to Laguna Beach. I wanted them to have a wonderful experience and I was not disappointed. Wonderful place."

  • "Unfortunately, the view is by far the best part of the experience. The hostess made little to know effort to greet us, no warm smile or eye contact. Our server was pleasant and attentive and deserves high marks as does the view. The food was okay at best. "

  • "I go there for the view. Food is pretty good but costly."

  • "Whenever we are in the Newport Beach / Laguna Beach area on vacation (we're Texans), we make it a requirement at the very least to have drinks on the Las Brisas patio. When we can, we make it dinner, which we were able to do this time. There are very few restaurants in the country with the view of the ocean like Las Brisas. We were able to get there early to have a Margarita on the patio and they were gracious enough to allow us to move up our reservation by 30 minutes... and still seated us at a table by the expansive windows. The view is simply spectacular, but so was dinner and the service. We love this place... our favorite restaurant in the whole country! We will be returning... but it may take a few more years!"

  • "La Brisas is really a gem of a restaurant. From the delicious food to the outstanding wait staff, we went back the same week. You cannot beat the view either--walking paths with gorgeous flowers, steps going down to the beach, and local artists painting as you watch."

  • "We live in CA part time and always make it a point to go to Las Brisas. It is one of the highlights of our stay. The wait staff is superb and we have never had an unpleasant issue. As long as it continues to offer the excellent menu and reasonable prices, not to mention the best view ever, we will return."

  • "alas, Las Brisas is what it has always been: fantastic view, sub-par food. They have not tried to improve the food for over 10 years, but hey the view is AMAZING!"

  • "The menu is so varied, I've never ordered the same thing twice, and I've never been disappointed. My husband and I like to go for lunch. We like to take out-of-town guests for lunch or dinner. The servers are friendly and attentive. There is a diverse clientele. It's always a definite hit!"

  • "What an awesome place the view is breathtaking everything is great the service and food. The trail outside the restaurant is awesome for a walk after dinner. We took some family members there for dinner and they fell in love with it."

  • "This night was not like all the other nights! Because its not about just going out to eat. It was a Evening to remember! First of all we had a wonderful table by the window over looking the magnificent view of the Southern California Coast line of Laguna Beach! Then we were Greeted by Hector a Friendly, Charming and Informative Server! The appetizer to our entrées were prepared with care from the Chef, They were outstanding and delicious! Our evening will be a evening we will not forgot!"

  • "Lousy food and highly priced. The lunch salads were all bland and small portion sizes also so left the place hungry. My wife and I each had a salad and a margarita and our lunch bill came to nearly $100!! Will not go back."

  • "Have been going to Las Brisas for the last 20 years, usually on special occasions. The food is inspiring, the service stellar, and the view 2nd to none."

  • "My husband, 3 kids and I were celebrating my birthday. No better place than Las Brisas with their attentive service, wonderful food and gorgeous setting. The main draw for me is the "pan dulce" and our server made sure it kept coming. The seafood crepes were delicious and our children enjoyed their meal as well."

  • "Service was outstanding for our group of 14. View over the ocean was beautiful. Four-course champagne brunch (Sunday only) was great. I've also been there for weekday brunch buffet, which was also good. Staff was very accommodating. Nice to walk along the beach afterward!"

  • "Enjoy Mexican seafood while you watch the waves break. A stunning cliff location right on the water. The service was great and the prices were very fair for what you are served. Our meal was about $90 for two, including tip (no drinks)."

  • "Even though I live only 12 miles away from Las Brisas, every time I come here I feel like I am on a vacation at a 5 star resort! The food is always on point, the view can not be beat and the servers know what they are doing. Our server was personable, without being overbearing. He knew the menu like the back of his hand, and his description of the daily special made my mouth water. Of course I ordered it and was not disappointed! It was exquisite. It's the perfect place to bring out of town (or out of the country) visitors to get a true feel of the Gold Coast lifestyle. The outdoor bar is fun (if you can get a table). Truly one of the gems on the Gold Coast!"

  • "Went to Las Brisas for a birthday dinner and had a great experience! The service was professional and spot on, even with a transition of servers everything went smoothly! Food was great!"
    Dined on 3/27/2014
  • "I had mixed emotions about this place. The service sucked and all off the food and drinks were way over priced. We got there and ordered our drinks which took forever to get after we ordered them. Our food took forever to come. I almost wanted to tell the server to cancel the order and I'll just pay what I owe. And yet for some reason this big group next to us which got there after we did was getting way better service then we were. I was starting to get really mad. When our food finally came. The food was pretty good . I can't remember what dishes we got, but they had a lot of flavor."

  • "Hard to decide what the star is at this restaurant, the food or the view. Both are outstanding"

  • "We had a great lunch at Las Brisas. Great view of the beach, outstanding service and very good food. The waitstaff were exceptionally attentive but not overbearing. I spilled my drink and within minutes our table was "refreshed" and I was sipping a new margarita...what more can you ask for. We will return."

  • "I've been coming to Las Brisas for over 10 years now and the food and service never disappoints. We never feel rushed, the champagne is a continuous flow and the food hot and fresh. I brought a friend for her first time and now she intends to bring her fiancé in the future. Thank you for being consistent in your service."

  • "The last time I visited Las Brisas was about five years ago. When I came back this past weekend I was sad to see that some things have changed. My favorite thing to order was their seafood skewer plate. Before the plate featured blacked rice and asparagus. This time the rice is now mexican rice, and they used long green beans instead. I feel that the previous accompaniments, the blacked rice and asparagus, went better with the capers and lemon butter sauce. I found the mexican rice to be salty, and the green beans drenched in butter, and that it ruined and cheapend the dish. Lastly, I made a note w/my reservation that my husband and I were celebrating our 1 yr wedding anniversary. The never acknowledged our special occasion."

  • "The view was amazing! Service was very good! Only issue is was a little on the pricey side which is fine but there wasn't a big variety on the menu for the Sunday brunch. I don't mind the price if the food is worth it but not being limited in what I could order was a little annoying. Other then that had an amazing time!"

  • "I had gone to Las Brisas on/off a couple of times after they opened, but not at all in the last 20 years because the food I have had there was so sub par and Laguna has so many great choices I was not going to risk having another bad experience. Well on a whim my wife and I decided to give it another try Monday evening and were pleasantly surprised. The crab cakes were very good as was the swordfish. I thought both were ever so slightly overcooked but not to the point of distraction and my wife thought the enchiladas were spot on. Being a local that eats out regularly and involved with a local hotel I am constantly asked for dinner recommendations. Las Brisas is back on my go to list for more than just cocktails, chips, and the views."

  • "If you are going for the view, just have a drink on the terrace. Eat elsewhere as food was bland at best. When terrace is full it is quite noisy outside."

  • "This restaurant is amazing for the way it consistently delivers wow service and wow food. It could get by on its extraordinary view alone, but instead they do an outstanding job. I have gone here for years, and just recently visited. Once again they provided a very special occasion."

  • "WE LOVE this place. That is why we go there as often as we do. We love the weekday (M-Sat) breakfast brunch and we love lunch because we get to see these gorgeous views all the time. Food - Service - Ambience - all 5 Star. Going to Las Brisas isn't just a meal you didn't need to cook yourself; it's an experience. Good place to bring out-of-towners because it is unlikely they have had this gorgeous dining experience anywhere else. PS - the weekday brunch is SO reasonably priced, too!"

  • "The food was excellent, the service was great. Our server recommendations were spot on and included some subtle changes to the standard offering that we great (ie try this sauce with the entree you selected). Great view of the ocean."

  • "Best ocean view in Laguna Beach! Great place for us to watch the sunset and the patio is very lively at night. The good selection is limited but food was much better than expected. If you don't care to dish out the money on food this is a must for drinks on their patio at sunset. FYI: I recommend an early reservation (5:30 or so) to ensure the best seating by the windows. By the time we left at 7 both the restaurant and patio were jam packed."

  • "I took some out-of-town guests to Las Brisas. I wanted them to see the spectacular view and enjoy some Mexican cuisine. Everyone loved it. The food was excellent. The ambiance was great. Las Brisas has been one of my family's favorite restaurants for special occasions since it opened. I have never been disappointed."
