This is one of our regular stops. On nice days, the patio is one of the best places in west Houston to sit outside and enjoy the air. The service, ambiance and food are a reasonable compromise for the price. The staff is usually attentive and friendly, not today. They should not allow smoking on the patio, or at least have one patio for non smoking. Just about the time your food comes out, someone will light up next to you and make your food taste like an old ashtray. Today, the ceviche, one of our favorites, was different. We couldn't put our finger on why though. The fish tacos were also pretty fishy. We regularly drive by other Mexican food places to come here, but what we received today would not make us go out of our way to return.

Missed the old place, and finally drove out to the new place at La Senterra. Reminds me of the great atmosphere of the long time favorite, and the new place has outdoor dining too. Enjoyed the experience.

This was definitely a great place to celebrate our Mother's birthday. Everything was great, but the only thing I noticed this restaurant lacked was fresh homemade tortillas. That is the only con. Other than that, I would definitely visit again.

We have been to Las Alamedas several times for the seafood paella. It's normally pretty good, however this last time it was not to great and the was not very hot when it arrived at the table. A little disappointed with the service as our waitress only supplied us with refills when we asked, not when she noticed our glasses were low.

Las Alamedas is very upscale, provides excellent service and has a nice ambiance. That said, I enjoy Mexican food for the taste and this is where Las Alamedas falls well short. The chips are firm and tasty but the hot sauce provided was watery and bland. There was literally no kick at all. Surprisingly, there was no green sauce available. My wife ordered the Paella Las Alamedas, having recalled how good her grandmother's version was as a child in Puerto Rico. She said it was passable and tasty but by no means exemplary. I had the beef fajitas and was disappointed. The meat was chewy and quite bland. The corn tortillas were small. I had to ask for cheese! Nice place but for serious Mexican food, stick with Molinas or Alicia's.

I want this place to get its act together. I LOVED the Voss location, love the current location with patio, like the strong margaritas, the food is fine, BUT the service is terrible! It has never been good. The wait staff isn't rude, just indifferent (which is almost worse). Everything takes forever and they aren't overly busy-it's always been that way. Even at the bar! I'm sure I'll wander back over there eventually-I'm willing it to be better-but not any time soon. Maybe I'll forget how bad it was...

We dined on the outdoor patio- my one complaint is they allow smoking, which is a deterrent to eat outside on a pleasant day. Other than that, the fish tacos were cooked perfectly, and the chile relano was outstanding. The service was attentive and the margaritas with Grand Marnier were especially good. Las Alamedas serves their salsa warm and the chips are very crispy and fresh. One of the better dining venues in Katy.

Las Alamedas is different since it moved to Katy. It's not bad, just a totally different vibe. Less inviting. My dinner was not impressive, but I did order the fajita salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was dry and there was not very much of it. They use iceberg lettuce also, which they should consider changing considering for what they charge for the dish. It offers 0% nutritional value and does not present very well. The others in our party liked what they ordered however and the Ceviche appitizer was fantastic. I will say that the patio dining is wonderful. If the weather permits I would recommend it. Service was good considering that there was 1 server for all the tables on the patio.

Haven't been there since they moved to Katy, so it was a pleasant surprise to see a very similar set up like the original. We ended up having dinner in the bar area because it felt more cozy and secluded from the other guests. Is like to go back and sit on the patio because it looked very inviting and had a great view of the courtyard. Food was great, drinks were good. Next time I'll go for the top shelf margarita - the regular one was just OK.

We went out to Las Alamedas with the whole family: 11 people. The staff was great and took good care of us. The margaritas were super-delicious (on the rocks). All the dishes were very well done, great flavors. The carnitas were cooked perfectly (moist with a nice char). The ribs were tender, the fajitas very good. Overall we were able to satisfy picky eaters and two different cultures of parents. We will definitely go back again.

Expected such a well reviewed restaurant in a prime location to be PACKED on the weekend. It was completely dead, which is usually a bad sign. There are no vegetarian menu items worth mentioning aside from a lunch special spinach enchilada (again LUNCH - we came for dinner) and a generic guacamole salad. This would be a place for lunch, do not recommend for dinner.

This was our first visit back to Las Alamedas in about a year. Our table of three ordered Carnitas, Fish Tacos and Chicken Fajita Quesadillas. The Fish Tacos could use some fine tuning to get it on par with other restaurants that offer this item. We enjoyed the chips and salsa. None of the entrees we ordered exceeded $12.95. The night we dined here we sat outside on the patio - very enjoyable. Our server provided excellent service. My wife and I felt that Las Alamedas demonstrated improvement since our last visit. We will try again in the future.

Food was very good--glad to see the expanded menu. Price quoted for the margaritas was not the same as on the bill. Restaurant is beautiful. Service was slow and untimely--5 minutes after receiving our salads, the entres came. We had to ask them to take the entres back and hold them. A glass of wine ordered at the beginning of the meal didn't show up until after the meal. This was a Saturday night. Judging by the slowness of the service, they could use more wait staff. But we enjoyed the food and the ambiance was very nice. Would probably go there again but maybe not on a Saturday night.

At first they didn't have a wine list then later they did have a list and when we selected a wine from that this 20 minutes later the server told us he couldn't find it, so we picked another one and they couldn't find that one either. We ended up ordering a drink from the bar. Food was good but we were very disappointed in the Wine or lack there of. Valentine's day was on a friday this only happens every 7 years as a manager of a restaurant you must make sure your wine list is in order and that the service team is up to date on the wines. This restaurant lost about $55 because they couldn't find our two wine choices. I will tell this story to everyone in Katy and let them make their own decision as to dine here or not.

Went to have a birthday dinner with family of 6 and after waiting far too long for drinks, my wife had inquired about a dish that featured paper thin chicken. The waiter couldn't offer details so my wife took a chance and ordered it. Once the dish arrived, she sampled it, as did myself, to reveal a dish that was bland and somewhat flavorless. I then called our waiter over and asked if we could return the dish and order something more familiar to which he said "certainly". we attempted to have a decent dinner but again coudln't get timely drink service and found ourselves with empty glasses numerous times. when we recieved our bill only to discover we were charged for the stale tasteless dish we didn't eat!

This was the second time I have been to this restaurant and the first time was very good. Let me say that I have eaten Mexican food in Texas and Mexico more times than I can remember and I know what Mexican food and Tex-Mex taste like. This was NOT Mexican food. It tasted like it was stir fried in a wok at a popular Indonesian restaurant that starts with PF. Same oil and everything! Worst fajitas I've ever had. It was certainly edible but not Mexican flavor. I don't know what changed but I don't think I will be going back unless I am in the mood for PF. The waiter didn't appear for 5 minutes after we were seated. After that the attention was ok.

Our server made bad jokes (about the order) while each person in our party ordered. Then he forgot we ordered an appetizer. When our entrees showed up, and we pointed out that we never received our appetizer, he asked if we still wanted the it but made no effort to correct the situation. The chicken fajitas did not have enough chicken. A lot of peppers and onions, but a small amount of chicken. Further, they were served without butter or cheese. Wouldn't recommend. Much better at other restaurants. Another entree didn't have any sides (rice, beans, etc.) which made the plate seem bare, and far too little food to comprise an entree or the price. There's no reason to eat here with the huge number of other Mexican restaurants in the area.

We are new to Katy and wanted to go somewhere in Cinco Ranch for New Years Eve. I looked online and found this restaurant. It was said to be a four star. The service was impeccable but the food was outright horrible. We love Mexican food and eat it quite often. Honestly, I'm not a hard critic but I would never go back. Too expensive for luke warm, bland tasting food. I also love margaritas but there was so much tequila that I felt like I was taking shots. I never thought too much alcohol was a bad thing, but this disproved that.
