My husband and I both loved our dinner at L'Artusi. Each course was incredible- the cheeses the chef paired with our wine were excellent. The spaghetti was recommended and was the only dish that was slightly disappointing (small portion for $18). But the halibut, butter lettuce and steak did not disappoint. John was a great server. We will return- but probably for a special occasion!

Went for my second time this past Wednesday with one of my friends for dinner - wonderful dinner, service, and overall experience. ALWAYS get the house made ricotta - it is spectacular! Had the roasted beet salad, herb crusted cod, olive oil cake, and a delicious Barolo by the glass. Already can't wait to go back!

Fine experience at l'artusi. The wine by the glass list is very expensive, $14,$17 glasses. The pasta portions are substantial, but the orchiette although cooked a perfect al dente was very salty and focused on the meat rather than letting the pasta shine through. Out waiter was very nice and attentive, and we did not feel rushed. Would recommend, but don't feel the need to go back, as it doesn't have a neighborhood charm feel but a crowded hip scene where you just feel lucky you've gotten a table.

The service was outstanding, ambience trendy yet classy, food very good.. I usually don't order chicken off a menu but per our server's recommendation we got it for the table. It was the best dish out of the other 5 entrees.

With all the amazing restaurants in NYC we still keep coming back almost every time we are in town. Im always tempted to try a delicious pasta but end up getting the hanger steak & chicken with hen of the woods mushrooms every time. Don't remember having a bad glass of wine either.

Hadn't been here for a while. But it's as good as ever. Wonderful salads and pastas to start, and then delicious fish as mains. Leave room for dessert - chocolate budino, an amazing croissant bread pudding and a chocolate hazelnut torte. As always, great team service. One of our favorite places in the City.

The food at LArtusi is outstanding. The go to items that I always order include the roasted mushrooms with pancetta and egg, the crispy potatoes with white sauce, the scallop crudo, and the buttermilk crackers with homemade ricotta. On this most recent visit, the steak was maybe the least impressive item, but only due to insufficient seasoning and not improper preparation. A special salad, with pickled watermelon, heirloom tomatoes and a crispy pork skin was outstanding, as was the black spaghetti with rock shrimp. Prices may be high, but the quality of the food has never been less than 5 star, and the servers are attentive but not obtrusive. A place we return again and again, and always bring clients and friends when they visit.

We came for our first wedding anniversary. We were very well received by an italian waiter (cannot remember his name, but very nice). He offered us a glass of wine to celebrate our anniversary and also a little candle on our desert : very cute attentions ! Our table neighbor gave us some advice on the plates, and it was excellent. Gnocchi a bit too spicy but excellent pasta with zucchini. I recommand.

Waited forever to get in here and found the food good but place was WAY too loud, service too rushed/absent, prices too high. The seating also meant that we were squeezed between two other tables, and it was hard to hear each other talk against all that noise. I much prefer dell'anima.

I really have to emphasize delicious. EVERYTHING. (and we eat out a great deal and can be tough graders!) The waiter was also terrific and gave great explanations and recommendations. Let me rave about the roasted mushrooms. They are not something I would have ordered had I not read the reviews, but honestly the best appetizer I have ever had. The pasta was great as well, but as far as I'm concerned, the roasted mushrooms were the star of the meal. The wine list is extremely extensive and the meal portions are slightly smaller than average (the appetizer portions are very small). But the pastas honestly aren't that expensive for what they are. It would be a great, moderately priced meal if you're only going for the pastas. The wine and appetizers are what bring the bill up. I will definitely be back!

this place has great food, i have nothing but good things to say after going, the server was very knowledgeable about the courses and educating us on how to order, the plates are small plates to share, although some are a reasonable size for smaller eaters. what i found a bit odd, was the timing between the first set of courses and the second. we waited about 25 minutes for the next set and it came in pieces. other than that it was fantastic.

We love L'Artusi! There are five sections on the menu: Crudo, Verdura, Pasta, Pesce, Carne. I recommend getting one item from each section and splitting it between you and your date or dining companion. Here is what we like. Crudo: Beef Carpaccio Verdura: Butter Lettuce Pasta: Bucatini Pesce: Tough one... we've been getting the Octopus, but lately we have been less impressed with it, so no recommendation for this section. Carne: Hangar Steak Enjoy!

The bottle of wine we ordered was the one thing we did enjoy when dining here. We were coming here for a very special occasion, and we were extremely excited to try this well reviewed restaurant. After our wine and appetizers were quickly brought to the table, the evening went downhill. Our food was brought out after having taken two bites of our appetizers, and the seafood entree was cold and tasteless by the time we got to it. The waiter walked by multiple times as the entrees sat untouched for at least 20 minutes and said nothing. We were not asked how the food was and service became nonexistent until we left, while the extremely loud table beside us was brought complementary drinks etc. with pleasure. Was an unfortunate experience.

Spent ages researching a fab restaurant for our trip to NYC and LArtusi came up time and again. Beautiful space downstairs but iwe were placed upstairs and it was lacking in atmosphere-aircon blasting and partner facing a wall. We moved downstairs and had the most appalling rude perfuncionary up him self waiter who launched into the specials and seem affronted when I said I hadn't heard a word!!! He whisked away plates etc as though we were an annoyance. My husband said then lambshank pasta was the best he's ever eaten and his pork chop to die for. My meal was very mixed-delightful spinach and ricotta tortellini-with the let down being the Branzino-just a small fillet on a boring overpowering medley of olives. Bit disappointing.

Came here for dinner on recommendation from a friend and L'Artusi did not disappoint. After speaking with the waiter for a wine recommendation and ending up with something we both enjoyed, we ordered two main dishes and two sides to share. For the main dishes we chose the Hanger Steak and Chicken Cavatelli. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. The sides we had were the roasted cauliflower and the summer squash, both of these were also excellent and had lots of great flavor. Despite being fairly full, we went for dessert. On our waiter's recommendation (again, very helpful) we went with the bread pudding topped with a blueberry compote - it was a perfect end to this meal with an amazing balance of sweet and savory flavors.
