Larsen's SteakhouseElegant, Upscale Fine DiningAfter a full day at the L. A. Zoo with our 11 and 12 year old grandchildren, whom we hadn't seen in a very long time, we asked what they wanted for dinner. They replied, "crab legs!" So, we searched on Open Table and found Larsen's, where we'd never eaten before. We were surprised when we arrived and found the restaurant to be far more upscale than we had imagined. We were greeted with aplomb; not a beat out of step. Shown to a well placed booth, in the middle of all the activity, not hidden out of sight because we had children with us. Food was plentiful, delicious and served with grace and kindness. Our steaks were superb, too. Leftovers packaged beautifully. We'll be back!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday CelebrationI had a wonderful time there! I ordered the half oysters as an appetizer and the sea-bass with asparagus for the entree. Delish!!! Will be back VERY soon.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usually. Evberythng wasAs usually. Larsen's was perfect. Lunch was as special as a fine dinner.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMLovelyThe meal was wonderful, the service was attentive and the setting was lovely5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe continue to enjoy spendingWe continue to enjoy spending Special Occasions at Larsen"s, Encino. The food and service never disappoint us.
Thank you!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWait to be seated....This was my second time so far at Larsen's steakhouse this year. I treated my Mother for Mothers Day. We both loved the service, the food, the waiters were great but the only thing was we had quite a bit of a wait until we were finally seated. My first time there, we had reservations and we were seated within less than one minute. This past weekend, I had reservations as well, but we must have waited a good 5 minutes to be seated considering the restaurant was empty leaving more employees with less work to do. I was a tad bit disappointed, not mad, I just think its something you guys can work on for the future. Besides that, everything else was exceptional. Love the employees, the food, the environment, everything!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for my friend's birthday!Larsen's rolled out the red carpet for a good friend of mine. I made the reservation on OpenTable and included a note that our group had a birthday. We were greeted warmly, seated promptly, and at the table was a sweet birthday card personalized and signed by all the Larsen's staff! What a thoughtful and unexpected touch. The food was great--I don't eat a lot of meat but recommend the sea bass. And the wine list had several hidden gems I didn't expect from a steak restaurant.
I'd been to Larsen's before and really believe it's one of Encino's best kept secrets. Kudos to the staff there for taking extra time to make us all feel welcome, and special!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was saltyWe ordered filet mignon with cremy mash potatoes and mushrooms. But both of them were very salty. I mean very salty. I couldn't get the salt flavor out my mouth. My invites said the same thing. The manager said that they were going to take out the bill. It wasn't just taking it of the bill. It mest up my whole dinner. I had alcohol and ice cream to take out the flavor but it was still in my mouth. So after paying my bill. I wasn't satisfied with the food.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGrade A WagyuThe Kobe is absolutely worth it. One of the best and most resonably priced (for what you get) menus out there. I would definitely go back.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe restaurant is abolutelyThe restaurant is abolutely amazing. I went for my Birthday and brought my family to share in how wonderful you are. Thank you for be everythig I said. We will be back - I promise.

Be ready to pay the price for the experience- a little pricy.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was excellent,Everything was excellent, couldn't find a thing wrong if I tried4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMI was a little disappointedI was a little disappointed in my steak this time -- a little overcooked, and the mushrooms were swimming in sauce, not sautéed as I had expected.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a good experience atWe had a good experience at Larson's. good food and great service, beautiful surroundings. Live piano music was perfect. Food could be a little rich for some but much lighter than some other steakhouses we'd tried. Overall a great restaurant.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMHonestly it was one of theHonestly it was one of the best meals we have ever had, my pork was amazing it was tender I couldnt even believe it, my wife and our guest split the filet and crab leg combo and they also said it was amazing they especially said the crab legs were so sweet. We sat in the bar and Derrick served us and that was a treat what a nice genteleman. Look forward to coming back soon.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGet the lobster bisque! We've been going to Larsen's for a few years now. My only, "you must get this item" is the lobster bisque. It is amazing, creaming, with huge pieces of lobster. Yummy!
As for steaks, I like to stick with just the regular rib eye, or bone in rib eye. They have other steaks that usually come with sauces and I've just never really enjoyed any of them. They are OK. But, maybe I'm just more of a traditionalist.
For sides the mashed potatoes are good as well as the creamed spinach. I can't remember if I liked the Mac and Cheese or not. There's a lobster mash and I wouldn't suggest it - get the bisque instead.
Appetizers - I've only had the crab artichoke dip. While AMAZING and highly suggested also realize that it's very very rich.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food but a little pricey.Good food but a little pricey. Will go again for happy hour or special occasions.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMconsistently excellentConsistently excellent in food, staff and service.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBest steak house in the valley.Best steak house in the valley. Great meat and fish. Love the lights in the menus.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMUpscale all the way. ExtensiveUpscale all the way. Extensive wine list, no bottles under $44. Dark and romantic, with a piano player. Service friendly and prompt. Free chocolate cake slice for my birthday. The bacon-wrapped filet mignon with a blue cheese sauce, and the Colorado Rack of Lamb were PERFECT! The sides are priced separately, and now I see why - they are large and supplied on their own plate. The Flemming Salad was also perfect. Our meal for 2 with one bottle of wine, 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 sides, and 2 aperitifs, and 15% tip came to $260. I will definitely return for a special occasion.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AManother great mealreservations on time, excellent service, outstanding food .....even though no steak ordered in our group .......Ahi Tuna was thick huge and spectacular tasting. My husband and I truely enjoyed everything.
We are on a tight budget. We had a bottle of wine ($40... the cheapest one we could find), 2 salads and 2 filet mignons. The price was $170.
Although we had a wonderful experience..... we cannot afford to dine there again.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
