Larsen's GrillGreat neighborhood findI think this is the nicest restaurant in Simi Valley. It's a pricey steak house and well worth it. My New York strip steak with the peppercorn sauce was as good as you'll find at Maestro's or Ruth Chris and it is less expensive. The menu is varied . They have fish and pasta dishes and even BBQ Tri tip and these dishes are more reasonable . My husband was hoping for prime rib but it is only offered on the weekend. He had a seafood dish instead. The dinner rolls are good, the salads are fresh and flavorful and I liked the drink menu. They offer some interesting martinis. I had a blueberry lemon drop. It was very good.
I hope this place stays around. It seems hard to keep good places open in Simi Valley. Unfortunately, they were too spicy for her and she did not eat them. I was surprised that spicy burgers would be part of the childs menu. I requested a booth and it was ready when we arrived. Our 7 yr. old granddaughter was with us and she was very happy with her chioces of kids meals. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was amazing, especially the West Virginia Oysters, the Veal Chop special and the Miso Sea Bass. And don't even get me started about he awesome dinner rolls. Seated promptly and exactly as requested. Excellent and enjoyable service from Krysta. Food was delicious. Enjoyed Tuna Tartar and Fleming's Salad for starters, both were very good. Rib Eye & Bacon Wrapped Filet both cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. But best dish we had was the Chilean Sea Bass, it was really fresh, flaky and cooked perfectly, done but still very moist, and had great seasoning. The food was good, the service was as well, but the most surprising part of the experience was the phone call from the manager the next day, making sure that my girlfriend and I had a memorable time. Michael, the manager, makes sure all of his guests are well care for and he takes very good care of us. We have a preferreds server, but I won't tell you her name!!
