Fish was excellent, as was the bread. Good service. Lamb pasta was a disappointment, The pasta was gummy and there was not enough meat in it, and no truffles. It should have come with a salad for $28.00. The duck was good but there was hardly any-maybe 2 once's of meat on the bone! The grits that came with it were pretty bland, even though they were supposed to be cheese flavored. The service was good and it is a beautiful place ,close to the theater. Pumpkin cheesecake was good. Nothing was excellent but the fish and that was bad last time so it is touch and go each time.Meal was served in a timely fashion from a polite server.

The food was delicious. It was odd to get bread without butter. The olive oil was unflavored with no balsamic to match. Also odd to get swordfish with no lemon. Maybe a new server but he was hard to find and seemed annoyed. I usually leave 20-25 percent tip . Not this time

After enjoying several exemplary meals at Lark's in the past while in Ashland on business, I was looking forward to finally sharing a similar experience with my spouse. While good, the cuisine, taste, presentation inventiveness were all lacking in comparison to the exemplary meals in the past. It appears that Lark's is conforming to a more "senior" crowd as the selections like meatloaf and fried chicken, chili as a soup of the day and candles whose flame could not be seen because of the hospital like brightness of the dining room. Match that with an empty restaurant with an 8 o'clock closing time and rest assured I will be looking for other dining options. Service was the only reliable and commendable element.

We were there to celebrate three birthdays and had a great time. The food was up to its delicious norm and the atmosphere is lovely. The waitress was very sweet and friendly and was a great ambassador of their food - she loves it all (who wouldn't?). The special dessert, a seasonal pumpkin cheesecake mousse, was yummy!

My husband & I came to the Lark with the expectation that the Lark would be something different but not the best. Oh my goodness were we ever wrong, not only was the atmosphere lovely, but the appetizer was so beautiful in and of it self we were hesitant to eat it. Tuna was marinated perfectly and was melt in your mouth exquisite. My husband had the salmon, which I have to say with the aioli and risotto was to die for. My brined pork chop was so amazing with its peach sauce its balance made it impossible to not finish the plate. The servers we so patient and so courteous. If you ever want to know what fine dinning truly is, let the magic chefs at the Lark Restaurant show you.

  • Great Choice for OSF Dinner

Our group of four made reservations here for a Saturday night between shows at OSF. We weren't too sure about Larks, but recommendations from a few friends on Open Table and Trip Advisor convinced us to try it. Boy, are we glad we did! We were seated promptly and ordered a round of drinks while we studied the menu choices. Two of us went with the evening's special entrees, and two went with standard menu options, along with a sampling of starter offerings to share. The service was attentive, but not rushed. Yet we were finished in plenty of time for our evening's show. We left satisfied, pleasantly full, and extremely happy with our choice of restaurants. Larks is highly recommended, and we shall return.

We very much enjoyed the food served at Lark the night we ate there. In fact, I only have two issues. The server seemed rather serious. I left him a big cash tip and he smiled then. Seemed a bit nervous. First week on the job maybe? The other issue was how bright the lights were for an evening meal. Would have been fine for lunch but the brightness detracted from the ambiance. We loved the hotel lobby and the quality of the food at the restaurant caused us to rethink staying at this hotel the next time we are in town. Very lovely.

Comfortable chairs, nicely set table. We had service at our table almost immediately after sitting down. My husband had the cod special and was happy with it. I had an interesting lamb meatball spaghetti. The noodles were thick and home made and the sauce was kind of like a pesto with strong flavors. The meatballs were not spiced at all, but I think they were made that way because the sauce was so strong. Good reasonable wine list.

We liked the restaurant so much that we planned to return the next night but decided to attend another play instead. Would love to return!

We had a wonderful dinner at Larks, starting with a 730 reservation that allowed us to miss the Shakespeare festival pre show crowd and enjoy a very relaxing meal. The highlights fron the menu: the Brussels sprouts appetizer, the pork chop, and the chocolate dessert. Once the crowd thinned out, we got plenty of great (and friendly) service. We'll definitely be back for more.

We visited on a busy Friday evening. Every dish was tasty and delicious and the service we received was exceptional. The Brussel sprouts appetizer is so good we had to have it again. The fresh Columbia River salmon special was a winner-- perfectly prepared and a delicious cut of fish. The fried chicken with mashed potato was excellent, everything you want from this comfort food dish. Very nicely prepared! We rounded out our meal with berry tart with a scoop of strawberry- rhubarb ice cream. We will be back!

This time we went to Larks twice during our stay in Ashland. We were pleased with all of our choices because the food is fresh and superbly prepared and presented. The lunch special of smoked salmon salad was outstanding. The three of us agreed and not a drop was left by anyone. We were allowed to sit and they refilled our water, tea and coffee until we were almost the last people left. I would recommend visiting Larks whenever you are in Ashland, even if you don't stay at the hotel.

A mixed bag Sunday evening. Decided to go with the daily special rockfish although the server had no clue whether it was local or not. Unfortunately, the rockfish was not right, not tasty, not fresh-- big mistake not to send this back to the kitchen. The trout, however was wonderful and we shared the Brussel sprouts starter which was perfect-- they do this better than just about anyone.

We loved the food at Lark's. This is my third time and I have not been disappointed! The service is top notch and professional, yet at the same time personal. The food is also really good, though it seemed there were a lot of items on the menu that were the same as another restaurant a couple of blocks away. Nonetheless, the food was presented beautifully and was delicious. It is well worth a visit.
