Two of us for a late lunch shared a salad and each had a sandwich: the Napeleon and the grilled salmon. All was delicious. Host and server seemed distracted or overly busy but the restaurant was not even half full. Our drinks didn't come until our entrees were served and we had to ask for the bread that never came before our entrees. Must have been an off day. I'd probably eat somewhere else next time I'm in Walnut Creek.

I made my reservation an hour ahead of time, and it wasn't busy. The only request I had was for a quiet area. We were seated immediately to the left of the bar, where they were watching the SF Giants game. I too get excited watching sports, but that was not a table I wanted that night. Service was superb. My scallops was excellent although having swapped green vegetables and quinoa instead of polenta I didn't get the mushrooms I expected, but the rest of the part wasn't so happy. The gravy on my husband's pot roast tasted weird; my friend's paella was also oddly flavored ("I can make it better myself at home") and likewise my other friend wasn't thrilled with her meatloaf. This used to be my favorite place; I will now reconsider.

It has been a while since we have been to Lark Creek and it will probably be a while before we return. The evening was OK, fairly average in terms of overall. The food did not stand out as very memorable, although I do recall the salmon being a little dry. What does stand out is the service level. We felt rushed. As soon as one dish was being taken away, another was being placed in front of you. This did not allow you time to savor the evening and enjoy your night, it felt like "hurry up and eat and go". For that reason alone, it will be a while before we return.

Had not been here for awhile, having moved 10 years ago from the area. Was pleased to see it was still here & food even better than I remembered. Went for lunch with 4 longtime friends. Plates ordered consisted of hamburgers, pastrami reuben sandwiches & a chicken dish. No complaints from anyone as all plates were emptied. Service was attentive without being over done. Parking readily available in garage in same bldg at minimal cost. Would definitely return again.

I had positive experiences for brunch and lunch in the past but dinner was disappointing. Perhaps because there was a large party and the MLB playoffs were on TV, but it was louder than expected and the service was very slow. Waitress was kind to apologize multiple times but it took an hour to get our entrée. I would have thought that they would prepare better if they knew they would have large parties to serve. Bus service also was not attentive to our progress with our courses; took bread plates away too early and took all of the silverware of one of the diners for no reason. I thought this restaurant was one of the nicer restaurants in the area but sad to say our experience was not all that impressive.

WE have been to Lark Creek a half dozen times. This time, as always, the lamb shanks, scallots, and salmon were well prepared though could have used more spices. The tortilla pancake appetizer is a favorite, slightly sweet. Soups (onion and mushroom 1 bowl, acorn squash the other) were rather plain, probably the lowlight of the meal. We had two side dishes of mushrooms, 1 Manhattan, 1 soda, 1 coffee and 1 glass of wine collectively for the three of us). We took home 1 Butterscotch pudding and 1 other desert.) Total was $229 with a $30 tip. Service was top notch. A good solid choice, though doen't look for a lot of innovative spicing here.

Everything was so fresh and great tasting ~ their bread is fun and fantastic (could eat ALOT of it!). I had the grilled salmon with quinoa and my husband had the filet ~ both were cooked expertly and the flavors were complemented by the sides (salmon with pineapple salsa and the filet had creamed spinach and a very tasty potato latke). I had a flight of the roses and the bartender was a very generous pourer ~ nice. Would recommend it for any occasion and plan to go back soon. Very pretty restaurant; too hot to sit outside, but we'll wait for cooler weather and do just that!

Eating outdoors is the best thing this restaurant has going for it. The food is good, not great. The waiter misinformed us about the size of the smaller vs larger portion of a dish (they are nice enough to offer two sizes of several entrees), so that we ended up overordering and not finishing one of our dishes. When you are used to a city vibe (Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco) and exciting food, this doesn't really cut it.

Three of us had a very pleasant lunch. The restaurant was busy but not noisy and we had good attention from the waitress, All of us had a salmon sandwich which we found just-right delicious. Good wine selection. As busy as things were we were not pushed to finish and leave. A small desert plate topped things off. Easy to reach from 680 and we'd certainly go back again.

In a party of 8, we went in for our favorites, pot roast and meat loaf, but were somewhat disappointed. The pot roast was dry as well as the mashed potatoes. The prime rib was not a favorite of one of the men as well. The fish was excellent! Has been a favorite for the 8 of us, but we will rethink going again.

As in the past, we enjoyed our most recent visit to Lark Creek Walnut Creek very much. The restaurant is attractive with a relaxing atmosphere, and our waiter was friendly and efficient. The wine list was interesting and the menu had lots of good choices to try, although 3 of us ordered the meatloaf because we liked it so much last time. The noise level was somewhat challenging at a table for 5; we had to raise our voices to hear each other. This was less of a problem in the other room where we ate last time. Overall, it was a treat, and I hope we will go again.

I went for the first time for dinner, and the food was good, our waiter was friendly, but he forgot to bring us our bread, and when we ordered our martinis they were brought to us in wine glasses. When I made the reservation, I asked for a quiet booth. We were sat next to a couple with a toddler. We decided to eat at Lark Creek because of the advertised Heriloom Tomato Menu. The only item on the menu with Heriloom tomatoes, was a salad. The pan seared salmon indicated it came with Heriloom Tomatoes but all it had were two chunks of yellow tomato that were very bland. We had 5 different people at our table serving but 4 of them would approach the table without saying a word. One of them opened our wine without any acknowledgment and then spilled it on the white table cloth and glass stems when pouring the glasses still witout saying a word. He walked away leaving me to dab up the spill so it wouldn't drip on our white clothes.

Have been to Lark Creek a number of times and have always had a wonderful meal. My husband ordered the paella and I ordered the salmon. Paella takes a bit longer to prepare which was a non issue. I thought about asking the server to be sure my salmon does not sit and dry out but thought to myself this restaurant knows how to time the meals. I was wrong. Each bite of the salmon had to be washed down. All accompanying side dishes were wonderful.

I was a bit disappointed. The food was OK...service lacked enthusiasm. Maybe a better place to go in the evening. I hate it when the appetizer plates are lifted and the entree is set down immediately. Everything seemed rushed. The brunch menu was good for breakfast...but it was hard to choose a lunch entree that was more than a sandwich. I had paella....it was average, lacked seasoning and not overly generous with the seafood and only 1 small piece of chicken. The calamari was excellent though.

Lark Creek's been my "old reliable" go-to place for family and friends meals there at least 15 times in the past 2 years. NO MORE. I need to find a new "old reliable" after my experience Sunday. I decided to treat myself to brunch. I requested a quiet table, but not in Siberia alone in the back room. I specifically went to Lark Creek because they are in the middle of their annual Heirloom tomato season, and their gazpacho is the best …. at least it once was. This time the gazpacho was overly salted to the point of being all but inedible. I asked that my Caesar salad be "lightly dressed." What arrived was dressing with a pile of soggy lettuce. I sent it back. My chicken sandwich was dry & ordinary. A truly awful experience!

We have been coming to this restaurant for many years and normally love this place. Unfortunately this visit was quite the disappointment. On this visit we were celebrating our anniversary. We had gone to Lark Creek on our first date so this seemed appropriate. The food was creative and wonderful as usual, but the service was beyond horrible. The lack of attention by our waitress was evident at every step of the way. Drinks were slow in arriving, our entrees were delivered to our table with the appetizer and salad plates still on the table. When the entrees were delivered we had to ask for the dirty dishes to be removed and for cutlery to be delivered to our table. The waitress was just invisible in all aspects of this experience.
