We have dined here several times but had stopped because our last visit was less than stellar. However, this visit was very good. We were given an alcove room for our party of 10 and the congenial, and diligent Kerry as our server. The cocktails, appetizers, wine, soups, salads, main courses and desserts were all delicious served at the proper temperature and in a timely manner. The only disappointment we had was when we were informed that the bar was out of Taylor Flagate Port. We were given plenty of time to pay our bill and still meet the curtain call for our evening theater performance.

My first time but 2 of my friends have been frequently. I had the meatloaf because I was told it was a specialty. NEVER thought I'd order meatloaf at a fine restaurant. It was wonderful. One friend had the special of the evening - squash risotto which she said was excellent as well. Others had chicken and a seafood medley - they were very happy as well. We were all late because of traffic (2 coming from Oakland were almost an hour late but the restaurant and our server were gracious and accommodating. A terrific restaurant.

We arrived early for our reservation, but were not treated well. Hostess seemed arrogant, not helpful. We sat at bar since we didn't want to go walking around for 45 minutes. It took a long time to get served. The food was very good, but again we were treated like secondary guests with slow service since we weren't at a table. They shouldn't offer bar dining as an option if they aren't going to take care of you. For a restaurant with this high calliber reputation, we were disappointed.

Several folks were waiting in the foyer to be seated. I had reservations as it was a business lunch. No 0ne was there to seat people! . I asked the folks waiting, "is anyone here?" they were very annoyed too and said, the waitress's are seating people. I said 'no way a waiter comes over to greet and seat people with a tray of food in their hand?, "YES, do you believe it!" They were short staffed but this was very offensive. I couldnt say anything because I was with people in business (a vice president of Raymond James for one) The resaurant was only 1/2 full, and it took a long time for everything. Yes they were apologetic but by then , who cares, we just needed to have lunch. It was expensive and the food was below par!!

The service started out well. Went down hill quickly. Ordered a cocktail, was told they didn't have the scotch requested. When drink was delivered was told they found it. She took our order and approx 15 mins later our first course came. We waited another 25 minutes for our entree. Server never came back to ask us if we wanted another drink or to tell us what the delay was. After finishing our meal we tracked her down to get our bill. After waiting 10 mins to pay, we finally left cash (wanted to pay with credit card) and got up and left. The restaurant was not busy. Never did a manager stop by our table to see how we were doing or to ask how our meal was. No one at the hostess desk when we left so that we could give our concern in person.

Our waiter was great. However twice the wrong order/plates were brought to our table instead of the correct party. First, the servers did not know who ordered what, and attempted to serve platters to the wrong members of our party..we had to remind him of who had what & switch some of the plates ourselves. The worst was when we had finished & were having coffee/tea, a server came to our table with 2 plates of Paella, ready to put them down on our table, not noticing table cleared except 4 coffees & teas. Not up to par for this level restaurant; have dined here before & always experienced excellent service matching great quality of food. However, this time, these faux pas overshadowed the experience. Thx for the birthday dessert.

Two of us for a late lunch shared a salad and each had a sandwich: the Napeleon and the grilled salmon. All was delicious. Host and server seemed distracted or overly busy but the restaurant was not even half full. Our drinks didn't come until our entrees were served and we had to ask for the bread that never came before our entrees. Must have been an off day. I'd probably eat somewhere else next time I'm in Walnut Creek.

I made my reservation an hour ahead of time, and it wasn't busy. The only request I had was for a quiet area. We were seated immediately to the left of the bar, where they were watching the SF Giants game. I too get excited watching sports, but that was not a table I wanted that night. Service was superb. My scallops was excellent although having swapped green vegetables and quinoa instead of polenta I didn't get the mushrooms I expected, but the rest of the part wasn't so happy. The gravy on my husband's pot roast tasted weird; my friend's paella was also oddly flavored ("I can make it better myself at home") and likewise my other friend wasn't thrilled with her meatloaf. This used to be my favorite place; I will now reconsider.

It has been a while since we have been to Lark Creek and it will probably be a while before we return. The evening was OK, fairly average in terms of overall. The food did not stand out as very memorable, although I do recall the salmon being a little dry. What does stand out is the service level. We felt rushed. As soon as one dish was being taken away, another was being placed in front of you. This did not allow you time to savor the evening and enjoy your night, it felt like "hurry up and eat and go". For that reason alone, it will be a while before we return.

Had not been here for awhile, having moved 10 years ago from the area. Was pleased to see it was still here & food even better than I remembered. Went for lunch with 4 longtime friends. Plates ordered consisted of hamburgers, pastrami reuben sandwiches & a chicken dish. No complaints from anyone as all plates were emptied. Service was attentive without being over done. Parking readily available in garage in same bldg at minimal cost. Would definitely return again.

I had positive experiences for brunch and lunch in the past but dinner was disappointing. Perhaps because there was a large party and the MLB playoffs were on TV, but it was louder than expected and the service was very slow. Waitress was kind to apologize multiple times but it took an hour to get our entrée. I would have thought that they would prepare better if they knew they would have large parties to serve. Bus service also was not attentive to our progress with our courses; took bread plates away too early and took all of the silverware of one of the diners for no reason. I thought this restaurant was one of the nicer restaurants in the area but sad to say our experience was not all that impressive.
