Three of us had a very pleasant lunch. The restaurant was busy but not noisy and we had good attention from the waitress, All of us had a salmon sandwich which we found just-right delicious. Good wine selection. As busy as things were we were not pushed to finish and leave. A small desert plate topped things off. Easy to reach from 680 and we'd certainly go back again.

In a party of 8, we went in for our favorites, pot roast and meat loaf, but were somewhat disappointed. The pot roast was dry as well as the mashed potatoes. The prime rib was not a favorite of one of the men as well. The fish was excellent! Has been a favorite for the 8 of us, but we will rethink going again.

  • Lark Creek - Always a Pleasure

As in the past, we enjoyed our most recent visit to Lark Creek Walnut Creek very much. The restaurant is attractive with a relaxing atmosphere, and our waiter was friendly and efficient. The wine list was interesting and the menu had lots of good choices to try, although 3 of us ordered the meatloaf because we liked it so much last time. The noise level was somewhat challenging at a table for 5; we had to raise our voices to hear each other. This was less of a problem in the other room where we ate last time. Overall, it was a treat, and I hope we will go again.

Extremely fresh farmers market quality food. The halibut was prepared better than in Alaska. It was the best I have ever had. Prince Edward Island mussels equal to Island freshness. Gazpacho taste like made from heirloom tomatoes. It was the perfect meal for our tastes.

I have been here many times for brunch and I have always loved it! I went for the first time for dinner, and the food was good, our waiter was friendly, but he forgot to bring us our bread, and when we ordered our martinis they were brought to us in wine glasses. (they ran out of Martini glasses) maybe they should purchase some more so this doesn't happen again??

When I made the reservation, I asked for a quiet booth. We were sat next to a couple with a toddler. We decided to eat at Lark Creek because of the advertised Heriloom Tomato Menu. The only item on the menu with Heriloom tomatoes, was a salad. The pan seared salmon indicated it came with Heriloom Tomatoes but all it had were two chunks of yellow tomato that were very bland. We had 5 different people at our table serving but 4 of them would approach the table without saying a word. One of them opened our wine without any acknowledgment and then spilled it on the white table cloth and glass stems when pouring the glasses still witout saying a word. He walked away leaving me to dab up the spill so it wouldn't drip on our white clothes.

Have been to Lark Creek a number of times and have always had a wonderful meal. My husband ordered the paella and I ordered the salmon. Paella takes a bit longer to prepare which was a non issue. I thought about asking the server to be sure my salmon does not sit and dry out but thought to myself this restaurant knows how to time the meals. I was wrong. Each bite of the salmon had to be washed down. All accompanying side dishes were wonderful.

Our family has been meeting here for special occasion lunches for several years. It's the perfect location for family coming from San Jose, Napa, San Rafael and Sacramento to meet and celebrate anniversaries and birthdays. The staff has gotten to know us, and the service has been exceptional. Even when we linger for dessert and another cup of coffee! Haven't even mentioned the food yet, which is why we selected Lark Creek in the first place. Delightful menu and fabulous food from small to large plates. Can't praise it enough!

I was a bit disappointed. The food was OK...service lacked enthusiasm. Maybe a better place to go in the evening. I hate it when the appetizer plates are lifted and the entree is set down immediately. Everything seemed rushed. The brunch menu was good for breakfast...but it was hard to choose a lunch entree that was more than a sandwich. I had paella....it was average, lacked seasoning and not overly generous with the seafood and only 1 small piece of chicken. The calamari was excellent though.

  • Lark Creek a huge disappointment

Lark Creek's been my "old reliable" go-to place for family and friends meals there at least 15 times in the past 2 years. NO MORE. I need to find a new "old reliable" after my experience Sunday. I decided to treat myself to brunch. I requested a quiet table, but not in Siberia alone in the back room. I specifically went to Lark Creek because they are in the middle of their annual Heirloom tomato season, and their gazpacho is the best …. at least it once was. This time the gazpacho was overly salted to the point of being all but inedible. I asked that my Caesar salad be "lightly dressed." What arrived was dressing with a pile of soggy lettuce. I sent it back. My chicken sandwich was dry & ordinary. A truly awful experience!

We have been coming to this restaurant for many years and normally love this place. Unfortunately this visit was quite the disappointment. On this visit we were celebrating our anniversary. We had gone to Lark Creek on our first date so this seemed appropriate. The food was creative and wonderful as usual, but the service was beyond horrible. The lack of attention by our waitress was evident at every step of the way. Drinks were slow in arriving, our entrees were delivered to our table with the appetizer and salad plates still on the table. When the entrees were delivered we had to ask for the dirty dishes to be removed and for cutlery to be delivered to our table. The waitress was just invisible in all aspects of this experience.

We met friends there specifically to try their heirloom tomatoes of the season. Must say it was disappointing. The tomatoes seemed less than flavorful and the mozzarella was subpar as well. Our entrees were fine but not stellar. We love Lark Creek but think this may be a miss? Our waiter was very good, although it was a busy night so things were a little slow. Ambience was very good and our overall experience was good.

2nd visit & disappointing-wait person seemed resentful to serve us. She was slow with everything, and not cordial. She refused "passport" discount that accepted before because it was a 'holiday'??. I still like the place, and consider it a central meeting place. Food is fine. Service seems to be an issue with Lark Creek restaurants-service is just uneven. I stopped going to original Lark Creek, in Marin, because of the uneven service. Thank you.

The brunch menu was varied enough for the 4 picky eaters in our group. All of the entrees turned out well. Especially liked the French toast with strawberry compote. We've had both lunch and dinner here numerous times, but feel the experience has gone a bit downhill. Our waiter was overly friendly and not professional. Service was fair and disjointed. Second courses were brought to table while we were still eating first one. Waiter asked what we wanted for dessert while 2 of us were still eating main course. Waiter said we were his last customers of the evening and he wanted to leave work. Wait staff had no idea who ordered which dish. Table was very small for 4 patrons. Lark Creek is my "go to" place for a special dinner with my hubby. They had a special caprese salad on the menu, made with heirloom tomatoes and in house made mozzarella. It was sooo good, the tomatoes were nice and ripe, just the right amount of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and basil of course. Our entrees were delicious, we had the meat loaf. Our server, Amy, is newer, but you really couldn't tell. She was attentive without being obtrusive. And, the butterscotch pudding, as always, was to die for. Love this place, always look forward to going. :)
